Yes. That is the current software. There is a beta escribe version available from evolv but it loads that software version into the DNA200 chip.
Wait. I'm not sure I get it. So I downloaded the beta Escribe version 1.0.35.2. Then when I first opened it and connected my VT200 it asked me to upgrade the firmware to that 2015-09-30. So do I now have the latest software on my device?

Back on page 7 of this thread, Shekinahsgroom stated:

So here's my story. But will state up front that after some H E double hockey sticks raising with the kid behind the counter, I did get mine replaced.

1. Purchased my Hcigar VT200 from a local vendor on Oct. 16th 2015. (Vendor also has a website too and is well known)
2. Brought my VT200 home, downloaded the escribe software and created a member account with the escribe forum. (did this latter part, just in case I had a question or needed help with the escribe program in setting up my new VT200)
3. read some thing in the forum and did the tutorial
4. Set up my VT200
5. began to vape and loved the darn thing.

6. Everything was great for 3 weeks. I took my lil beauty everywhere with it's sexy side kick the uwell crown with its nic coil in it.
7. after 3 weeks, (Nov. 9, 2015) while sitting at my puter and vaping on her, she laid over and just died in mid vape. I mean everything left her. No life signs at all. She was outright dead!

8. Next morning, I took the VT200 back to the retail vape store I bought it from and was immediately informed, that they only warrantied it for 2 weeks ( how convenient) from day of purchase. I like to hit the roof immediately!

9. I mentioned that the devise had a 1 year warranty and that, while I understood it was a manufacturer warranty, they needed to understand that the manufacturer, doesn't do business with the end user/consumer, but they did do business with the retailers ( Later, I confirmed this by getting on Face book and chatting with an Hcigar rep from their facebook page).

10. The kid in the store made a phone call and after some tense minutes, he turned and said they would exchange it, but that I had only two weeks from that day. If it died again after the two weeks, they'd do nothing! So while I have a 175.00 New VT200, It's about as good as the dead one now because without a warranty, it's about as good as a sitting out in the open by itself. The retailer must have either

A. not gotten the vt200s they have through Hcigar or
B. Simply don't want to be bothered trying to do RMAs with the manufacturer.

Either way, i'm out a VT200/$175.00 if this one goes after two weeks and dies too.

So in summation: I thought I was dealing with a reputable local business but I wasn't.
But what can we do when we run into these situations? Nothing! but take the loss and not do business with the place again and do our level best, to steer others vapers away from such places. Getting legal council isn't cheap to try and make a retailer do what is right and even the law these days, can be manipulated and often are anyway even if there is a law. So this means the moral right things to do are not part of the law. In other words and they bare quoting again.

"you should look for a vendor offering the full year" Few do by the way. I've only found one and there's all sorts of policies to follow to even try and get it if your VT200 should die.

When it's working! The VT200 is "Awesome Sauce", it's sexy looking but be forewarned too. It does also have a heat dissipation problem. IE sit a standard TFV4 with dual coils on it and vape it a few fast vapes at 70 watts and you'll soon learn that not only does the addy get hot, but so will the vt200 case and this can't be good for the dna200 board that sits inside. Especially as close as the board sits to the 510 connection inside.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - This is my girl that died 3 days ago----------

Evolv wants to know about vendors that will not honor the warranty. It has something to do with their agreement with the manufacturers they sell the boards to. Open a ticket With Evolv and let them know.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but you have the latest Escribe software (1.0.35.2) on your PC and the latest DNA200 firmware (2015-9-30) in your mod.

Hello all, may i asked if there's any clones out there of VT200?

No... And from my understanding, there won't be any clones of any DNA 200 mods, at least not with the authentic DNA 200 boards. Evolv chooses what companies to sell its boards to. They started with Hcigar because Hcigar was cloning their DNA40 devices and attempting to clone their tech so they made a deal to stop cloning and use the authentic but follow their specs. Most companies are following suit now by buying the DNA200 board from Evolv and making their mods around it. With the popularity of authentic DNA200 mods out right now, I doubt any company would be dumb enough to clone a device and board as it would be fairly easy to point out that it's a fake these days with this particular board.

Are you asking because you want a cheaper DNA200? I suggest you just save up if that is the case. Chinese companies are coming out of the woodwork buying these authentic DNA boards from Evolv because they see that it is the hottest thing out right now. They know they'd be exposed as a fraud as soon as they claim an authentic DNA and Evolv and everyone else destroys them on the internet. With that being said, they are purchasing the most advanced board on the market and even wholesale I'm sure they are paying more than they are used to from Asmodus or Laisimo or whatever, and more than just making one themselves. So I don't think we will be seeing any DNA200 mods under $120, unless they carry absolutely no warranty.

Yeah that's what I was saying. I doubt any dna200 mods will be cloned. Most companies are just coming out with their own temp control devices. It seems they are smart enough to realize that Evolv and it's supporters will shut them down too easily.

I never say never. Who knows, sometime in the future someone may clone the DNA200 boards, but as of now, I've not seen any clones. I got my Hotcig for $112.99 shipped and my VT200 for $119.99 shipped. Not sure if a clone would be much cheaper plus you never know about the quality of a cloned board.

Cheers,
Steve

The DNA40 chip was a different matter (and a long, long time ago, in vaping timeframes...). There are (still) quite a few mods that clone earlier DNA40 mods with fairly good clone chips. The dna 200 is much more advanced, and a big part of it is the ascribe software. Cloners would need to both reverse engineer the chip AND write their on computer software. As many china manufacturers now use authentic DNA chips, or make their own non-clone chips, I don't see that happening any time soon.

i would not go for the clone, unless i already own an authentic piece. ;)

i'm thinking of getting either the VT200 or VaporShark from a local guy, i'm worried he'll pass off a clone as an authentic.
FYI, i live in a country where vaping is banned.

Hi every VT owners. The thread is to long to read it all. Is The Hcigar VT 200 a good mod? And @174 $ including free shipping to Europe, it most be a good deal from GearBest? Shipping to my place from USA usually is between 20 to 35$ Or should I ad shipping and go for a US vendor like Vapor Shark, I mean for warranty reasons. Do you guys think GB will honor theirs?
