I agree about the efest, normally I wouldn't touch efest batteries, but mooch passed the green efest 26650's and beleive they are actually the same batteries as the MXJO's, as all stats match on them.
They are working great. I was really worried about voltage sag, but the Efest is holding up just fine. I was getting a low battery warning, but a quick search on Evolv's boards enlightened me to the pre-heat in temp control. If you pre-heat at 75 watts you will get a massive sag, but only for the length of the pre-heat. I tested this with my he2's and 25r's. The Efest hold up well even though they are 26650's considering the LGs and the Samsungs are some of the best 18650s on the market imho. Of course this is for my normal non-stressful use. I am around .4-.6 ohms at between about 9-13amps Cheers to Mooch and ty all for the help to the people on these boards. And for anyone unfamiliar with the dna 75/200 boards or you just want to take your inner geek to a new level... Evolv DNA Forum

Well unless I am doing something wrong the Orbtronic 26650s that I ordered do not fit in the VT75. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a 26650 that will fit well and have solid mah? It does not need to be stable over 20-25amp as I will never build low enough to need anything over that.
Ahh....best rated by Mooch, you'd have to double check the length though....

  • AWT Yellow 75A 4500mAh
  • Basen Black 4500mAh
  • Brillipower Green 80A 4500mAh
  • Efest Green 20A 4200mAh

My Basens did not fit. Too wide for the slot. Have some AWTs on the way. Otherwise, once I got the new version of escribe loaded she is good to go. Bought both of these from ecig during the memorial sale and in my box today. Not bad.

Read this and had to check, got a pair of Basens a few days ago. Weird thing is, they fit. Both width and length, no problem. Very strange...

Forgive for me asking but you did remove the 18650 adaptor? Sometimes its the simplest things

Thanks for the heads up! Ours is probably the same size, I really had to zoom in on it, and angle it at the right position. Was hard to snap a pic of lol. I had to point it out, because some people are super OCD - I'm just minor OCD. I can live with it, I just wanted to make sure that it's just the way it's intended to be.
Houston we have a problem!

Gap on the bottom is widening as I tighten the battery cover repeatedly. It is now at least twice as large as it was initially. I am afraid it will get bigger and eventually the cover will run out of thread.

that sucks. that's also a problem. that means you have to sacrifice battery connectivity for sake of not further separating the c frame from the body. can you try and tighten the 2 torx screws at the bottom? can you post a pic of exactly what's happening?

No, tightening those two will make the problem worse since those two act as a fulcrum to the battery cover screw. I had hard time trying to get the camera to focus while holding the mod in one hand and the phone in other.

I would send that back, that is pretty bad, both of the ones I've had, have a very slight gap, but nothing like that.

Mine are nothing like that, that is bad.

I did take mine apart (HCigar's recommendation) the day after I mentioned it to you guys, and pressed the c-frame down. Two times, actually. It didn't fix the gap issue, as our gaps aren't where the c-frame bends, but towards the grip section. I'll say it's a TOUGH mod, that thing is hard to bend.

I was afraid to get pliers and bend the affected sections with precision, because I was afraid it would mess with the 510's connection or bend it too much and have it not fit back together properly.

I wouldn't recommend doing it unless you're out of options, as it's a PITA to get it back together (one screw is REALLY hard to get back inside the device without stripping it, as it's a very tight fit. Which may explain the gaps, as it's not seating properly.)

    Where did you buy yours?

I just have to ask, as I'm not familiar with single 18650 mods all that much. And I do have 18650 mode set up in Escribe.

Do you guys (using an 18650) get "weak battery" pop ups when your batteries are relatively freshly charged? I had 2 old HG2s that would give me "weak battery" at about 60-70% charge (~3.75v).

So I bought 2 new HG2s, thinking they were just old. But I just got the same pop up on a brand new battery at 75%. I figured it may just be due to battery sag, but dang...I have preheat turned off, no punch and a measly 42 watts at 450 degrees. Is that just the way these single battery mods are?

I only have the DNA200 (some that are 2 x 18650 at 133 watts), so I'm not sure if the Escribe settings are the same for the 75. That being said, what do you have your soft cell cutoff set at? On my VT133's, I have mine set at 3.09v and have no such issue.

PS You would probably also get more sag from a single cell. Go into the device monitor and check just how much it's sagging while taking a puff.

    Cheers,
    Steve

Yes Steve, I also have my cut off set at 3.09v. I want to say it came with 2.75v preconfigured, but I didn't like the sound of that, so I changed it.

Might not be a big deal since that's the way they set it up, but it sounded like a scary figure lol.

I'm guessing they set it that low because they are expecting more sag from a single cell device. If you reset it to 2.75v (or whatever it came at - I thought the DNA200 had a Hard Cutoff at 2.85v but that may have changed), I'm assuming your resting voltage would be ~3.5v when getting the "Weak Battery" message. I'd give it a try and see if that's the case. Hope you get it sorted.

    Cheers,
    Steve
