After some wrestling, the freezer trick worked and the top plate is back where it belongs.

I don't own one of those wrench/tools for the two holes, so I half mangled a cheap pair of pointed tweezers tightening it down. HARD. While it was still cold. See if it'll "lock" in place. :D

But what now... what now, indeed.

I dug out the included ring as worse comes to worse, it might provide leverage if it happens again.

But I don't want to use it.
It's subjective but... is that a "beauty ring", or an "ugly ring"? :p

eta: I just opened a VNW ticket to see about replacing the 133.
Shipping both out would suck. :(

Ok, just brought a Black one home from a local B&M. Funny, nowhere in the mod or manual does it indicate which way the battery goes in? Lucky I guessed right the 1st time.

Downloaded and installed Evolve and a quick surf over to SteamEngine I had profiles for the wire types I like using. Made profile - overwrote all the Evolve default ones, adjusted wire types, saved off to a file and wrote to the mod.

Seems to work. I love the 26650 form factor. Feels good in the hand. Nice clicky buttons. Screen looks good. No shock that it vapes just like the other dozen or so TC mods that I have.

The question now is: what next? Do I run the "mod analyzer"? I've heard mention of a "atomizer analyzer"? Or "Battery analyzer"?

Only downer is that some of my TC builds are over 1.5 ohms and after firing the mod was complaining "to high resistance".

I did the same exact thing... looking, looking... aw hell, lets try positive up. :p

    And ditto on Bill's "Whoa!".
It's not often we see TC builds that high.
Hell, it was a big deal when JTech raised their TC ceiling from 1.0 to 1.5 just a few months ago.

    LOL:w00t:

EDIT: Well, no. I would not suspect that there are many (or others) that experiment with 37AWG TC wire and/or dabble in pushing the voltage limits of their TC mods like I do.

I use all the usual suspects: Ti, NiFe and SS430. While I target <1.5 ohms for my Joytech mods my 350J's and Dicodes #6 can regulate over 2.0 ohms. (I have not tried the 450J yet) I think the tank the DNA75 was having issues with is a NiFe70 build with 37AWG and a whooping cold resistance of ~1.6 ohms.

A few of my current builds are in the 1.4-1.8 ohm range so I can use them on my old VV stuff which won't fire anything less than 1.2 ohms. (they somehow tend to read lower on the VV mods than the TC mods so I build them a little higher)

A quick look at the manual indicates a 6.0V output limitation on the DNA75. The SX350J can go up to 9.5V.

My Black VT75 arrived today, transferred all my profiles over from the VT133 (I like identical screen layouts) and it is working great with a 26650 Brillipower 4500mAh. I attached my Merlin that has a 4 strand twisted 28g ss430 build, clicked over to my Merlin profile 450F/50W and it is vaping like a champ.

I have a couple of quick questions:

    1. Do you guys screw the battery base down tight or leave it flush with the bottom and snug up the screw?
    2. The VT75 seems to get a little warm while vaping? I pulled the battery and it is not warm it is the VT75 itself, is this common for the power level I am using?

    Thanks!

    Awesome.. I'm loving mine.

I try to keep the battery base flush but it's hard when using a 18650. I've noticed that if it's screwed in to far the base gets hot when hitting it. Happens on both of mine.

I'll try the base flush and snug up the adjustment screw to see what happens.

Just got my black VT yesterday. I love the shape and way it feels in my hand. I've got a green 26650 efest in it and will see what the battery life is like over the next day or two. It's my first dna device, so I'm still trying to work through the settings and various button combinations. Anyone have links to good tutorials on the dna?

You may have noticed tighten it to much and the screw comes out. They really should have included a longer screw for 18650's.

Actually no - the center screw should have been made with CCW threads. When you screw in the battery cap the friction on the screw makes it unscrew from the battery cap. i.e. backing the screw out.

PS - Unless you are talking about the screw being too short because the 18650s are shorter than the 26650s. But in anycase it should have been a CCW screw.

    Sorry I misunderstood the problem.

I do the same as you. set the cap flush and then tighten down the screw trying to not get carried away with too much torque.

1&2 Possibly: If your device is heating up I would double check the connections to make sure they are solid. I snug the screw up to the battery. I also tightened the ground screw on the bottom of the mod as it turns out mine was slightly loose from basic use or the factory.

From the other post I have a one second 60w preheat going to a single SS316l clapton running at .50 ohms 430 F. I get a full day and then some with the Efest mean green 26650

Hey, thanks for the videos. While I was able to get the device setup by muddling through the options, the extra insight will help in the future.

I've tried 2-3 of the profiles I made at the start and like how you can name them and it is displayed on the screen. Pretty cool. I think next time I have it attached to a computer I'll change how the "Temp Protect" message works, I find it rather odd that I see that flashing on the screen a few seconds AFTER I've released the fire button and I'm setting the mod down.

I have not ran my 1st battery down enough to warrant a charge but will likely top it off at work today.

    Thanks!

Depends on what you call warm.... you can hook it up to EScribe and open Device Monitor and while vaping you can check the board and room temperature of the device.... Compared to a DNA 200 the DNA 75 will run hotter.
