The wear I was seeing on @David247 VT75 after only 3 weeks bothered me. The black paint on the frame of my Red VT75 is thick and I didn’t see how it could wear so quickly with normal use. I took a look at my black VT75 last night and I saw that indeed the paint had worn on the bottom. I took a closer look and noticed the paint is different than my red one. My black VT75 has a glossy paint on the frame and my red one has a more flat thicker looking paint. My red one is SS# 0427 and my black is SS# 1542. I can only conclude that they changed the paint early in production sometime after SS# 0427. The picture below doesn’t show the differences in the paint job but you can see I am starting to show wear on the black and I’ve used it less then my red.

Just ordered one of these, shipped today.

All I've used for TC so far are Wismec/eleaf/joyetech and X-Cube types, is there a significant difference in the quality of vape it'll give me?

Kinda hyped for it, the joyetech mods have a bit of a shaky failure rate.

The Hcigar DNA Mods are the best build quality and the DNA 200 and 75 are excellent choices. I have both by Hcigar and enjoy them both. The only thing about the DNA 75 is you will need to immediately upgrade the firmware from the Evolv site to prevent "Weak Battery" messages. The message is just set far too sensitive for the single battery 26650 which has a higher internal resistance than 18650s. The problem is completely eliminated with the new software update as long as you are not trying to run with your pre-heat set greater than 1 second and/or you are not pushing the Mod at a full 75 watts.

That out of the way if you have never used a DNA mod before you will think you have died and gone to Heaven when you compare the vape quality between the DNA 75 and your non DNA Mods.

No I am not paid to say this stuff, I am not an Evolv Fanboy in the conventional sense but there is nothing IMHO that matches the quality, stability and vape performance of the DNA be it a 200 or a 75. Also Hcigar is the best built units using the DNA series chips I have come across.

The only caveat is that once you start using a DNA series chip your other Mods stand a very good chance of becoming dust collectors.

I've been sceptical about the difference in vape quality between the different chipsets until last week I tried my X-Cube out and found the TC vape significantly better than what I've been getting from the Joyetech mods.

I still don't understand how it makes so much difference which chip fires your Atty but I'm finally seeing it does.

I'll go as far to say that if you don't like it I would be more than glad to buy it from you. Considering that it is now against the law to buy vape gear online in the State of Utah.

My second VT75 just arrived the day before they announced this one. I hope they've figured out away to avoid the gaps in the c-frame this time around. 2 of mine, my girlfriends, and a few of my buddies all have c-frame gaps (all are red version). Very annoying!

I also hope they got rid of the screw-on 510 plate. Both of mine have varying depth to the 510 plate, as in one is able to be screwed down further than the other - which causes resistance differences between each device. Also very annoying!

Just some info to those using this in TC mode.

I tested my Mod Resistance for the VT75 last night, and came up with the value 0.004/0.005. I decided on an average of 0.0045 as my Mod Resistance, and my resistance readings have been pretty much spot on with what it should be.

HCigar has a habit of not preconfiguring this value for us, or letting us know what it is (though, to be fair, it could differ slightly from device to device). But it's extremely important to have if you're trying to get an accurate TC vape experience.

If you've been seeing a slightly higher resistance reading on this mod versus other mods, this is why, and this is how to fix it!

You have to basically hard-short the device.

You can do it with a copper rod, or using very thick copper wire, inside of an RDA's posts as if they were coils.

Then you open up the Atomizer Analyzer and the value it shows you is the Mod Resistance.

There is a tool I use specifically made for this testing purpose that I'll link you to. I'll find it and post it in an edit here in a few mins.

Edit: here is the tool I was referring to. This screws down onto the 510 of your device. If you purchase it, make sure you don't fire your device with it attached - you just pull up atty analyzer and check the value it displays, then enter it into Escribe.

You have to set your mod's resistance to 0 in Escribe. Then you need to short out the 510 connection. Someone was selling a copper plug on Evolv's forum that did a great job. Others have made there own out of an old cartomizer that they filled with solder to short it. After that you click on the Atomizer Analyzer and see what resistance it's giving you. That's the mod's internal resistance. IMPORTANT: Never Press The Fire Button When You Have the 510 Shorted!!!

The thicker, the better as long as it fits in the post holes of your atomizer. When people use that method. They usually multiply the resistance they get from the AA by .8 because the atty plus wire adds a little bit of resistance.

Edit With the copper plug that I was talking about, people were just inputting the reading they got because it was basically not adding anything

I have 12g copper ground wire, that I think will fit the Tsunami.

ETA: Yes it fits, barely..... had to flatten the ends a bit, but it's in there.

I believe you can. I just hooked up one of my VT133's to Escribe and got the same resistance with and without the mod being locked. I exited out of the AA in between the times I checked. (I'm talking about 5 clicks on the fire button locked - Not locking the resistance)
