I am currently using a Joye 510 manual which I have recently switched to from another brand auto. I've been noticing that by the end of the afternoon, after vaping most of the day, I have been getting a irrated throat and a bit of a headache. I'm wondering if switching from short puffs on an analog, to the longer draw for a PV might be the cause. Has anyone else experienced this?
Cheers.

Sounds like possibly too much nic - PG and VG can cause throat issues if you don't drink enough - it DOES pass though. However if you didn't switch your nic level, you may have increased the AMOUNT youre vaping - I found the first week of my PV (always used the same brand btw) my throat felt swollen but lots of liquid helped. In 2 days more it had gone never to return. You say you drink a lot because you are outside a lot - if we dismiss the possibility of sunstroke - then it may be that your liquid intake is the same as it was prior to vaping. That may be way more than most people, but the idea is to increase it over an above what YOU usually drink, not that you increase it more than other people drink (sounds like you are already ahead of the game there).
Its unlikely that switching PVs is the cause - unless your previous PV was bad at delivering vapor and nic. If thats the case then treat yourself as a brand new vaper and slow down a little lol.
I still get headaches if I go crazy on vaping even at 12mg nic. If that happens I flood myself with water/liquids and switch to 0 nic for a while.

If none of these possibilities apply see a Doc :)

Too much nic def sounds like the culprit! My analog's are American Spirit Organic lights. Not sure how much nic in them, but all of the carts I have received are high which I understand is between 24-28mg's and more likely higher than my analogs. Afraid to go lower for fear I may want more analog's to fill in the back. Oh well, a headache and sore throat are little price to pay for getting off the analog's.
Cheers

The 510 runs hotter - more vapor and likely more nic absorption. Cut the nic level of your ejuice. Buy something lower in the same flavor and mix, is the easiest way to dilute without losing flavor.

Hey Ponygirl, I had the sore throat for at least the first week of vaping. I drink lots of water anyway, always have, I chocked it up to my body getting use to the PG. What did happen to me, was that the first time I switched suppliers I ordered a different brand of the same 555 24 mg that I had been using, it tasted just the same, but I got a really bad headache the following day. It scared me. Didn't have any other juice, so I just cut back a little on the vaping and my headache slowly went away. It surprised me, since I was such a heavy smoker, but I think that 18mg or even lower may be my sweet spot. Everyone is different.

No sore throat but I did have a headache for a few days. I cut back on the e-juice level and that seemed to do the trick for me. I am now a happy camper.

Maybe you need glasses, and all the reading of the ECF and staring at the monitor is causing the headaches... It took a neurologist 9 years of medication, needles in my head, cat scans, and therapy to figure out that is all I needed to make my headaches go away.

I jest!:p
