From the BBC:

Jane Dreaper reports:

"Fifty scientists from Europe, North America, Asia and Australia have signed a letter calling on the World Health Organisation not to seek stringent controls on electronic cigarettes.

They say the product should instead be regarded as a "significant health innovation" but doctors' leaders say too little is known about the long-term effects."

My own thoughts:

It really is good news that not everyone is wanting a ban. The only down side is that those with any say and that are in favor of EVs usually only see them as a 'stop-smoking-device.' While I agree, for me vaping is a whole lot more than that. vaping seems to have acquired almost a sub-culture of its own of people who just enjoy vaping for vaping sake, and that don't see vaping only as a means to an end; to quit smoking.

The health organization in the UK is looking at labeling e-liquids as a medicine by 2016. For some, yes maybe it is a medicine. They want to quit smoking. But for me and many, many others, e-liquid is no more a medicine than coffee is. It is something to take pleasure in and to be enjoyed.
