I had my start with e-cigs a couple of years ago. I used an eGo-T. Worked fine for a couple of months but I got frustrated with inconsistent atties (the wicks in that design were way too finicky... but maybe I just had bad luck) and I didn't like the idea of buying more all the time. I even tried making my own wicks with various things but never was satisfied and went back to the stinkies knowing I'd have to quit at some point.

Well, recently I had open heart surgery and decided now is the time. (It was unrelated to smoking, but I'm in my mid-thirties so it was an eye-opener--I never want to be back in the hospital!) I just got some 650 mah eGo-C Twists and Vivi Nova minis (2.4 ohm). Wow, what a difference! I've been using them three days and I'm really impressed. VV is fantastic. I love being able to dial in the taste. The vivis are great too--compared to the eGo-T's, I can actually taste the juice (even at lower voltages), they give a good, consistent vapor, and they're so much less hassle to clean and even rebuild. Nice, simple device and no leaking. Outstanding.

Things have really advanced since my last go-round. People who are quitting need hardware that is CONSISTENT and NO-HASSLE. This setup is just that for me.

Now let's just hope the FDA doesn't screw this up for us all!

Congrats on finding a system that works for you, and for giving up cigarettes! And Welcome to ECF.

Do make sure that you have backups. It may be consistent and no-hassle, but everything dies over time. I had to give up the vivis, they just went through heads too quickly for my taste. I hope you have better luck with yours than I did with mine :)

Yes, I have been eyeing those ProVari blems... very tempting. My smoking friends/coworkers think the Twists are outlandish since they're not cig-a-likes--wait till I pull out a ProVari (what is that, an electronic water pipe?)! FWIW, I don't care what my gear looks like; I went with something small-ish for carrying around in my pocket and using at the office. If I go bigger maybe I'll decide it's just as portable.

Thanks for the suggestion of backups! For now, I have 3 batteries, 3 atties, and 9 heads. I plan to get some rebuilding supplies soon. It's a pretty minimal setup but I wanted to make sure I liked everything before ordering more or deciding to go all the way with an APV.

Thanks all for the warm welcome.
