Hi guys, I've been vaping for about 5 months but have recently started getting consistent heartburn (or what feels like heartburn). Been vaping the same juice (Menthol from healthcabin) so it's nothing to do with that. I have however just switched to a Vivi Nova tank in combination with my Ego Twist. Has anyone else had this experience? I've read other posts that have said that it happens when you swallow the juice, but that's just not the case here. Any input would be fantastic. Cheers!

I would suggest you see your Dr, as it sounds like acid reflux. I would also suggest you use something like Prilosec/Prevacid/Tagamet OTC to treat the heart burn, rather than Tums/Rolaids as the extra calcium in these can cause kidney stones (something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy). I have acid reflux and haven't found the vaping to cause any problems with the heart burn.

I agree with changing to something like Zantac instead of using a regular anti-acid.

You can also get cinnamon sticks and soak them (make a tea) which tends to help with stomach related ouchies. But do talk to someone in the health field. I've seen a study or three which says that acid reflux can contribute to things like esophagus cancer, and other bad things.

People tend to associate things like tomato sauce and other acidic food with acid reflux. Believe it or not pretzels get me pretty bad if I eat them within an hour or two of sleeping.

Just off the top of my head, have you always been using the tank? How much "blow back" do you get? (Juice in your mouth and throat). I know when I had a leaky tank it leaked a bit into my mouth and I was getting irritation between my teeth and gums.

Hi guys, thanks for all the responses and I apologize for my tardy response. I've been busy looking for a place to buy groceries if you catch my drift. Anyway, I have in fact, been suffering from acid reflux for some time now. I've been to the doctor several times and I take omeprazole fairly regularly. I guess based on the response the heartburn is probably a result of my AR acting up again rather than the vaping. I doubt its the change in setup as the first week and a half went smoothly, and I've definitely been hydrating myself adequately. AS for the "blow back", I don't get the juice in my mouth but there is this weird sorta clicking/popping sound every now and then that has been happening recently. You think that could be a cause somehow?

One of my friends switched to vaping but quit after about a month because it was giving him such bad heartburn. He does have acid reflux, but would complain about getting heartburn every time he vaped.. Said he would rather smoke than have heartburn all day every day. Not sure what caused it for him though. He got it from multiple flavors and all different PG/VG mixes.

I have yes depending on what flavor im vaping, like candy type flavors seem to do it for me, the stomach is responding to the smell of food and dumping acid to the stomach readying for the food.
I need to switch off from the sweet or candy types to something that is not sweet, seems to help. I dont vape sweet before I go to bed or try not to. Im still working on finding my right flavors tho. its the perfect flavor quest.
