Hello all, enthusiastic (possibly overenthusiastic) noob here with questions.

How exciting! Wishing you the best of luck with it!! I seriously doubt that I will ever venture that far into the vaping equipment realm. I think that is because of my background. I simply want to vape. I want it to be a simple, relaxing, enjoyable experience that doesn't require a lot of thought, time, ongoing expense, or preparation. To me I think it would then become too much like work. LOL

I am willing to put in the time and effort to find the vape & slim compact equipment that appeals to me. When I find that I think I will be golden....and set for a very long time, or at least until someone comes out with a sleeker better performing version.

(I've been watching lots of videos and reading lots of articles on battery safety, myself. I'm awaiting my first mod, a mechanical, and want to be well prepared. Wishing I had your EE background about now! ;))

One thing that I will add that I haven't seen anyone say yet...

Vaping is not smoking. It's something entirely different. It may come close enough to help you stop smoking. But realize it is primarily just another nicotine delivery system.

E-cigarettes substitute the nicotine in burned tobacco leaves with a safer alternative in water vapor. The nicotine in vapor is absorbed primarily in the mouth and nose, not the lungs. So the puff or draw technique you use may need adjustment. Imagine sucking on a straw in a thick milkshake. Long slow draws into the mouth, hold it, and then either inhale or release through the mouth and nose. Exhaling through the nose will assist your senses in enjoying your flavored vapor.

E-cigarette vapor can be manipulated to be warmer or cooler, depending upon your preference. Lower resistance (ohms) juice attachments will provide a warmer vapor. Standard/higher resistance will provide a cooler vapor. A variable voltage battery will allow even more variance in the vapor quality.

Nicotine concentration in the e-liquid will have the most effect on "throat hit". Higher nic = more throat hit.

Welcome first off. This is the best Forum in the world.
Now for the quote. Brother Bad, can I use that. It was worded perfectly!!!!!!!
Everyone thinks I'm nuts for saying it's absorbed through the mouth and nasal membranes. LOL.

Everything I'm about to say is my understanding. It had served me well thus far.
Ohm or resistance is how easy or hard/ how quickly or slowly the could heats. The lower resistance the easier it is for the electric current to heat the resistance wire.

Voltage is the strength of the current. If the voltage is higher it will heat your coil faster (possibly hotter) and drain your battery faster.

Wattage is calculated by voltage squared devided by resistance. On VW devices when you set the wattage it reads the resistance of your atomizer and adjusts the voltage to equal the set wattage.

Wowee! You have done months of vaping work in 3 days! If you like a warmer vape, I'd go for anything top coiled. The iClear 16's and the iClear 30's are pretty inexpensive and the heads are replaceable. You are really savvy and could probably figure out how to rebuild them as well! As far as finding a cig-a-like that has a rebuildable atomizer, that one I don't know of. I haven't seen any.

That is it. Not sure if that is considered a cigalike or not. I just love the vape I get from it and the size. I could definitely love without the "diamond tip" and the led that glows from behind it, but hey I can live with it too. I just don't know what size the threads are to find different toppers for it. I can find thousands of pages with the things from China vendors & wholesalers, but none with this little tidbit of info I need.

If I could figure out the size of these threads I think I could find replacement toppers that would be perfect for me. The one on it is not rebuildable & I have no idea how long it will last. If I could find something to top it that I could replace the coils in, etc.... I would be in vape heaven I think!! I guess worst case I could buy the entire kit in bulk from China for less tham 8 bucks per. Then to figure out what to do with the dozens....hundreds....of extra batteries, chargers, and fancy little boxes lying about?!?!

While I like the Evod batteries I still prefer the small compact size of the little Jomotech Ecap thingy. As a former smoker Capri analogs (the little short, skinny, tiny, girly ones :p) for 20+ years it is much more comfortable to me, especially if I am going to be out and about and avoid analogs. I would love for someone to tell me where to find replacement top or dual clearomizers (preferably rebuilable) or whatever they are to fit this thing. The threads are not the same as the Evod batteries. It is a much smaller thread. Even recommendations for another battery which is of this slim compact size or adapters or something that would make it work and keep the slim compact size would be great. I am a person who can usually find anything I want with a computer or my smartphone, but for the life of me I can not find the info I need to find replacement clearo/carto/tanko/glasso...whatever mizers for this little gadget that I LOVE. All of this equipment stuff is quite overwhelming!

Did some googling for that Jomotech Ecap. No surprise to you, there just ain't much info out there. The 'standard' threads for mini e-cigs are 510, 901, M401 and KR808. Your searching might prove more fruitful if you look for photos of those threads and compare them to what you see with the Jomotech Ecap. I really hope this helps. I know it helps me get to my 5 posts so that the roadblocks to posting in other forums disappear. Tried to take advantage of The Vapor Station's offer for samples of a couple juices, and figured I'd come back here to make post #5  http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vapor-station/329822-free-liquid-samples-first-timers.html

Based on the rest of the products they offer, it looks like they are a standard ego threading. Jomotech appears to offer knockoff CE4's and iClears as well, so I would be comfortable ordering ego threaded product.

Edited to add: looks like you have a "sexy lady electronics product" :D

Bwuahahaha too funny! Well I highly doubt that it is going to make me sexy.....errr, well any sexier LOL, and and I pretty damn positive that it won't make me a lady, but as long as it keeps me happily vaping & not smoking I will be thrilled.

I am really confused now though about the whole thread size thing. I thought my Evods were standard ego threads and the threads on this thing are much smaller???

Hang on...

Ocelot here has a fantastic graphic which will show both the 510 and ego threading up close.

From the pics on the page I linked, they look to be ego threaded but could be proprietary, I guess...

Stay tuned.

Edit:

Here's a thread where she's posted this. I found it very helpful to know the diff:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-ego-threaded-setup-volt-spinner-im-nube.html

Are the threads on yours smaller, ie: closer together, or smaller as in diameter?

My eGo battery has two threads. The bigger male (on the battery) thread is standard eGo. It also has the smaller female (on the battery) thread that is a 510. I also have the Halo G6, a cigalike, which has male (on the battery) thread that is the kr808. Nothing like adding so much more confusion on top of the stuff that you understand and I simply do not understand, all the power options. Good news is that I have enough stuff to keep my nicotine addiction fed without the smell of burning leaves.

It's looks like the thread is 808 or something very similar. Be careful as there are a few different sizes and thread pitches that look very similar to this. Jomotech don't seem to specify what it is on the specifications.

The battery capacity appears to be 360mAh and at 11mm diameter is a little larger than the normal cigalike form factor.

Given that the 808 (or whatever it is) thread limits you in the devices that are available you could consider a VV battery in the smaller ego sizes to start with: $11.27 EGO-C Twist 650mAh Variable Voltage Rechargeable Battery - red / 3.2-4.8V at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

They come in various colours and a lot of the ladies really like them. At 14mm diameter they are only a little larger than the Jomotech, but the threads are standard ego (the outside thread, 12mmx0.5mm pitch) and 510 ( the inside thread, 6.5mmx0.5mm pitch). If you use these batteries you would be able to use any top coil devices including the CE5, Mini Vivi Nova, iClear etc.

There are also longer versions of that battery: 900,1100 and 1300 mAh and a variation called the spinner thay still has the Ego and 510 threads.

You've come a long way in only a few days. I know the feeling. I went from cigalike to ego in only a few days, then to ego VV, then I was ready for something bigger and more sophisticated so got a Vamo. I always say that if I'd bought the Vamo and VV twist batteries to start with I would saved myself a lot of money and hassle, but it's something most of seem to go though.

OK so I took both the toppers off of both the Ecap and the Evod. After turning off both of the batteries (for safety...don't want any explosions or anything) I tried to screw the Ecap which has a male thread into the the female 510 threads of the Evod. It didn't fit, as ot is slightly larger than the 510 on the Evod. So now I know that I need something for toppers that is smaller than an ego thread and larger than a 510 thread which is a top or dual coil an has a female thread. Any ideas? Maybe Fabricator has hit it dead on with the 808? Hmmm

I will check all of those out. I just like the size of the Jomotech battery. I have some Vision spinner VV and mini protanks, and lower ohm coils that will arrive tomorrow. I am optimistic that I might find the warm vape I want from those, but already know I won't care for the size. If I find the same warm vape they will be great for at home, and hanging out with friends, but not something I would want to be out and about i don't think.

Found this link, it might be helpful. I decided before I bought my next ecig that I wanted an ego/510 thread because there's just more out there that will fit. So I'm not real familiar with 808 threading to be helpful.

How to distinguish different threadings, 510, eGo, 808D threading?

And if 808 is what you have but you'd like to use your evods with it, here's info on an 808-ego/510 adapter:
