I just signed up for this site and e-cigaretteforum net and was looking for a recommendation on a e-cigarette. I currently have blu and a couple friends want them and I dont want them to go through the hassle of waiting that long for it to arrive.

I had a 510 but thats a little big for my tastes. Who makes a great starter kit that is almost identical size to a cig...such as blu?

Thanks tons!

Sometimes Blu kits come up on the Classifieds section of the forum (for sale by members, pre owned).

You might also look into the M series M401, M402 and M403 (Evo, Pilot are also these I believe). Not a long battery life, and there are issues with cut off and battery activation (but if you have a Blu you've probably dealt with some of these issues). Here is some info on the M-Series for you to consider.

The only difference on the M-401 & 402 is the battery length & mah. The M401 is 108mm & 200mah, and the M402 is 96mm & 150mah. The M401 will have the best battery performance over the other three. The M402 battery is interchangeable with the M401, so the M series gives you options for shorter styling.

The M401/402/403 use the same atomizer. Here is the length and capacity of M series and DSE103 and 8084 all of which fit what you want I think. If I blew it, I hope someone will come in and correct this. This was posted on another thread:

M401 108mm 180mAh
M402 96mm 150mAh
M403 85mm 100mAh
DSE103 102mm 180mAh
8084 85mm 100mAh

You can't go wrong with a 401. The battery life is upwards of 4 hours. Some say they get almost 6. I myself get about 5, and that's with pretty constant vaping. They give a good throat hit, and produce good vapor. They are the same diameter as a real cig, but a bit longer, and a bit heavier. The other poster said something about a cutoff problem with them, but I did a ton of research on em before I got mine, and I saw very few problem posts. The battery does however, have a cutoff, but it kicks in at 7 seconds, which is more then long enough for a killer hit.

You can get a very good price on a 401 kit and all your accessories at LitecigUSA here: M401 Series Vaporizer.

Or if you want something really special you can get the Dragon 401 here: Electronic Cigarettes @ TrueSmoker.com If you buy at Truesmoker use coupon TRUEECIG10, for a 10% discount at checkout.
The Dragon is pretty sweet, I love mine. Even though this kit is more, it comes with a sweet case.

Ez :)

EZ - It is my understanding that these have a cut off safety feature. If you try to draw over 5 seconds, it will deactivate the battery for 2 minutes. A downside feature for most, so I didn't go for one originally and have bought a 510 manual and 901 (which is a bit larger than these). The 401 is a very popular model, so must not be that terrible. My friend has a 401 and complains about hers doing this (she uses a passthrough to get around the cut off). I tried an Evo at my social group meeting and the owner confimed these have a cut off when he showed me his model.

I have a starter Intellecig Evo on the way (from VaporStation), just to play with and have for a little stealth vaping when out and about. I guess I'll see, eh? Oh, btw, for MNoisey - it was a good deal at $17 shipped. Just one battery in this kit though. Might be a good way to see if you like it too.

Yeah, they do have a cutoff, but it's 7 seconds, not 5. Believe it or not, those 2 seconds can make a big difference. Either way, there is no 2 minute waiting period if you hit the cutoff on a 401. There is actually no waiting period at all. Personally, I rarely hit the cutoff, but when I do, I can immediately vape again, no waiting.

Right now I have three different batteries for my 401. Two that came with my dragon kit, and both cut off at 7 seconds. The other one is an extra I bought, which cuts off at about 6 seconds. A little variance is expected. But Like I said, most people will rarely if ever puff 7 seconds straight.

Hiya Ivy! :waves: How are ya girl? Don't see you much... you live "across the street" more these days or am I just not paying attention? LOL

Thanks for the info EZ. Hmm, wonder why that is in all of the 401 threads? I'm pretty sure the Black Evo I saw had a 2 min. cut off. Have they made changes to the batteries? That would be a good thing. I'm looking forward to mine arriving.

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance and reliability.

But if you think the Blu is a good PV, then anything should work for you.

Fair enough, but I just stated that size and appearance was a concern. Getting the best performance possible with that in mind would be ideal....any constructive recommendations for that?

Oh Cripes!

WV - You are about as much use here in the new member's forum as Captain Hook at a gynecologist examination.

The OP SAID they tried a 510 AND said they wanted the size of a Blu. If you can't be helpful within the concerns of the post, then say nothing.

MNoise - A small model is usually what new users ask for here first. It is what we are used to, and what is comfortable and comforting when getting away from a cigarette. The 510 didn't work for you, so if you like the Blu basically, then the models on the list posted earlier will work well for you. That is about as good as it gets for that size.

There are model specific discussions that you can read more about all of those so you can make a decision on what you want and what you don't. PM me if you have problems finding them and I'll help you. If you decide later to move up to something that provides a bit more vapor, we'll all be here to help you find your way.

Best of luck to you!!

Hi Noisy. As said, you can't go wrong with the M401 based on what you said you're looking for. It probably has the best performance for anything considered an ultra mini e-cig. And as someone else said, the parts for the 401, 402, and 403 are interchangeable. The only fifference being that the 402 battery is a bit shorter then the 401, and the 403 battery is even shorter still. The 403 battery would make the length the same as a normal cig, at the expense of battery life. But a 401 battery will give you at least 4 1/2, and up to 6 hours of vaping goodness. That is outstanding for such a small unit. It's a good e-cig to start out with.
If you want something a bit larger, you could go with a 510 model. It has a manual battery, meaning you have to press a button to activate the atomizer. It gives a bit more vapor then the 401 and a little stronger throat hit, BUT, even though it's bigger, the battery life is much shorter then the 401. But either one of these will put the Blu to shame in every category.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Which of the 401's has the closest length to s standard cigarette?

Thank youf or teh great info

Sorry... I had to run errands!

The sizes in millimeters (mm) are next to each kind. I'd think the 401 was close to me... but I smoked a 100 cigarette. Depends on what you were used to.

The smallest is the 8084. A bit smaller than a cigarette I think. I don't know how many mm a regular size cigarette, ha. Not a single cig. in my house any more to compare to.

LitecigUSA sells a hybrid 401 kit which comes with a 401 battery and also has a 402 (shorter) battery.
For a few $$ more, they also sell an M-4xx Ultimate Edition which comes with a 401, 402, and a 403 battery along with 2 atomizers.
And they take good care of their customers.

You can check out both kits on this page. M401 Series Vaporizer
