Started 100% vaping on 12/9/2013 after smoking 1/2-1 pack a day for 19 years. I was sick of smelling like .... and having to wash my hands every 3 minutes to get that nasty smell of old smoke off them.

Last week I picked up a NJOY disposable and gave it a try while picking up what I didn't know was my last pack of Marlboro Silver. I didn't mind the NJOY except the battery sucked and only lasted 4-5 hours. Started looking online for rechargeable as I knew vaping was what I wanted to do. Decided to go with the V2 and placed an order. Shipping was a little slow which gave me time to try the V2 disposable which gave me a general idea of the companies quality. I will say that if you want a analog look alike and get the V2 with their Congress carts and you will be happy. Even after just a couple days of using my V2 I knew I wanted a tank for easy filling and found out about the Halo Triton via YouTube...got that in the mail today and the V2 went back in the box.

The Halo Triton is an absolute beast for the money, you really can't go wrong. Also Halo NAILED their Tribeca liquid down 150%.

I am happy to say I am on my 3rd full day without an analog and I have no thoughts about having one even for a second. Glad to be on the vapor bus and waving goodbye to the analogs forever.

Next step is getting my dad to use my V2 to kick his nasty Swisher Sweet habit that reeks worse then Marlboro...we start this process on Sunday which also happens to be my little girls 1st birthday party. She is the real reason I am now in the vaping club.

so in closing HELLO ALL!

Hi,

Welcome to ECF. Congratulations on giving up smoking, that is awesome. I am glad it worked out so easily for you.

As for your dad's Swisher Sweet habit, I can personally recommend the e-liquid "Maraschino" by Evo, it tastes just like I remember cigar tobacco, with a slight hint of cherry. It reminded me a lot of Swisher Sweets. It might be the flavor that works for him ... and of course, it might not!

Good Luck!

Great advice on the Maraschino...I didn't consider the flavoring being a factor with him as with me tobacco flavor is just that. I will have to see if my local store has something along those lines...thanks for the tip

Howdy and congrats. Me and your pop have a little something in common. I was a black and mild guy for a while. Loved that classic flavor. But smoke free for a month. Surprisingly easy too. And your little girl might not know it, but you are giving her a great gift. Isn't it funny how we can be motivated to become better human beings for our loved ones rather than for ourselves alone? Best of luck.

I could not have said it better. My wife has been trying to get me to quit for 5 years, but now that I have a daughter it was a no brainier. Not that I don't love my wife as I do, but for some reason I never took quitting 100% serious until my daughter was born. She will be turning 1 soon so it has taken me a year to quit. I was smoke free for 5 months using Chantix but i relapsed and went back to cigs. Now that I know I can still have my nicotine habit which I really enjoy but I won't be killing my lungs which my wife enjoys its a VERY happy middle ground. I get to vape in the house and in the car (Not with baby next to me) and my wife gets to have her wish of me not smoking. Best of all our little one benefits from parents who will be around longer and don't fight as much (We fought ALOT about me smoking). Good times ahead :)

Welcome!
You have stepped into the light

had my last cig around july / aug.

started using the disposables then a v-nano,
got a ego-c - no use.
then a couple plastic bottom coil 'vivi novas' which i used for a couple months
and now i'm on my first pyrex tank; finiky; can leak if i let it but oh, after a couple week with glass, going back to plastic screws up my face.

Welcome to ECF and congrats on kicking the habit. Sounds like your on the way to feeling better and great that you are encouraging your dad to also quit.

Im glad you found a good start kit , 4 or 5 hours is pretty darn good so stick with it and get to know your gear before you jump on to more advanced kits. Last think you need is to get into something that has a learning curve, get frustrated and go back to the cigarettes.

Have fun , and if you need any help there are plenty here with experience and knowledge to share.

Welcome and congrats! I also use the Halo Triton and never looked back. There is a Halo sub forum here if you scroll down further on ECF. We would love to welcome you to all the awesomeness that is Halo. Lots of fun and good peeps there to boot. You have a great testimonial! Hope it works out with your Dad.

Welcome!! And good choice on a Triton!!

Similar to others, Blu for a day, then Logic cig-a-lik for a week, then the Triton.

To my fellow vapers here, isn't it strange that we smoked ONE flavor for years, other than the occasional bummed cigs. OK, maybe we changed brands, but stuck with the one for months on end...

And now I have a on hand selection of over 50 flavors!! And I vape at a minimum 3 flavors a day. Malibu (plus a bit of Belgian Cocoa) and Torque, then another like Tribeca, VooDoo, etc.

The point being taste. Now we can taste, and we are inquisitive, exploring the possibilities, and become quite picky. I never smoked menthols, yet I like Malibu (slight menthol/frost).

I suggest you get more tanks. And for me at least, my taste buds continue to change, even after 3 months. Some juices I hated now are better, some I liked are now, meh. But the really good ones remain really good, like TriBeCa, VooDoo, Malibu....

(It would be so much easier with another vape buddy close by to share flavors.)

Here's the Halo Section. Tell them Diva sent you. (If you mention me, you won't get in.)

Welcome and congratulations!!!

If I can make one suggestion and that is get backups to your backups!

I myself had to learn that lesson a few times before it stuck into my head. I would be out and about somewhere and I would forget my device, run out of juice or the battery died and I would have to go out and buy a pack of analogs to get me through.

You have made an awesome decision to get off of the analogs so do yourself a favor and learn from others mistakes :) We all still make mistakes, but what i have found is that the vaping community is awesome and always there to help!

Good luck with your journey :)

Thanks for the kind words all!

Good news is my dad lasted the whole day at my house on Sunday with a V2 18% disposable and after arguing about it for 2 hours he finally realized that it does take the place of his Swisher Sweets...guess he just had to wait for the nicotine to kick in :) Happy to say we are giving him the V2 starter kit with charging battery pack and 40 cartridges for Xmas and he promised me and my 2 sisters that he is going to vape from now on and drop the cigars. Only time will tell with him and I hope he quits but we will have to wait and see.

I on the other hand am 100% in with vaping. Going on 7 days and no issues without analogs at all. Found a locale shop near me that mixes their own juice and picked up 3 new flavors to try out while I am waiting for my 30ml of Tribeca from Halo (Sooo awesome) . Just waiting on my mini tanks and blanks carts so I can sample without having to use the triton big tank. I did buy a 10ml of 12% their house blend "Lion's Blood" as I want to see if I can vape less with the higher strength, but also got some more 6% that I will use to vape while drinking and watching TV at night. I love the ability to adjust what I vape which in itself is a HUGE plus over analogs and I don't have to stand out in the cold to do it also!

Loving the vapors life and this forum, thank you all for the support!

Hmmm...been using some 12mg today and rotating with 6mg. Chain vaping like a madman today for some reason! No stress very boring relaxing day...that light be the issue for me too much time on my hands. Been through 6.5ml since 8am when unusually do 3-4. Thinking 6-7ml is too much and I might have to buy some more 0mg to just puff on while I am bored...thoughts?

Yup; one thing about vaping is unlike with smoking you don't have to light up and it doesn't go out so there's a tendency to just vape at will;

I mainly vape a 0 to low nicotine while I keep a 22mg clearo nearby in case I feel for it.

My highest is 12mg right now...thinking of getting a bottle of 18 or 24 for the times I really need a kick...maybe that will help so I don't chain vape
