Hello all. I'm pretty new to the whole vaping thing, been at it about a month now. I started with the classic kit from AquaVapor with cartomizers, but have just recently (last week) upgraded to the ego t with ce5. I really wish I had found this forum first, as the classic style just really isn't enough, and I bought 3 batteries, a ton of cartridges, PCC, all the chargers. The ego t model is 1000x better. Though, this is so much cheaper than smoking, that I still haven't spent any more money than I would have on cigarettes, even if I have bought two "mega" kits now. Is this a pretty good kit for a entry-mid (I guess that's what I'd be now that I've upgraded my kit?)

I've also been purchasing the juice from them (bought about 120 ml of various flavors), and I've seen some negative comments on here about their flavors. So far I have only tried one I didn't like (detested really) Mint Chocolate. I've really enjoyed the Coffee, Mocha, Camel, and Vanilla, and still have a ton more to try out. My question is though, if I like these flavors, and many don't, that might mean there are flavors out there that are even better! So does anyone have any recommendations for flavor companies? I tend to like the coffee flavors the best.

Last question - the ce5 clearomizer. I've made the mistake already of mixing two flavors that produced a combination that had to be what poison tastes like. I've done some searching on the forum and haven't found anything yet that details the proper way to clean this, or when I should change the atomizer(?) with strings in the middle.

At any rate, a month in I can already say I enjoy this more than analogs. And I really really liked my Camel Wides. It's been so successful, that without trying, I stopped reaching for those within 3 days of having me classic kit. I even have 4 packs of Camels left in my freezer, that I have no temptation to grab.

Any help with the above questions would be great! And I'm glad I found this place.

Welcome and good job on narrowing it down to things that work for you and taste good.

Tastes are all different, do a search for vendors you'll find plenty of info and reviews.

You can replace the coil head and you can also wash/dry burn to clean it for more use. Search for cleaning clearomizers dry burn and you will get plenty of information to sort through. Here is one:

Welcome. Congratulations on being a month free from analogs.

Your EGo batteries are fine. I use eGo batteries, two 650s and an EGo twist. Both suit my style of vaping.

I did try out the CE 5 clearos, but I in found I had to either keep it very full or move it around to keep it wicking well. To clean this, you can rinse out the clearomizer with hot water, then soak it in vodka overnight. That'll pretty much clean it out well. Let it completely dry before using it. ( a few hours will do, especially if air is moving over it, like from a fan)

Juice is very much personal taste. If you like it, then it is good. I vape juice from Goodejuice and Mount Baker Vapors. I'm still experimenting with various flavors myself, but my all day vape is Goodejuice house Blend menthol Tobacco.

I've tried a lot of the sweeter flavors from Volcano and DeKang, but for now, they are not my thing. Prices at Goodejuice and Mount Baker are very good.

If you want to try something besides the CE 5, maybe consider a tank. I have an Artemus tank with DCTs. It holds lots of juice and works very well. Unlike the CE 5, where the wick and atomizer are at the top, the tank has the wicking agent and the atomizer at the bottom. This means the juice is always covering the wicking agent, giving less dry hits.

Tanks can be a bit tricky to fill, but there are very good videos on YouTube for filling a new DCT. The key is to fill the tank without getting juice in the cartomizer, and dripping a few drops of juice along the inner wall.

Then let the whole thing chill for 15 minutes or so. That'll ensure the wicking agent will be wet enough to work without being too wet.

Hello and welcome! Glad you have taken the step to vaping and it will only get better from here :) for me personally i cannot stand the taste of an analog anymore and i was a smoker for over 10 years!

As far as juices go lots of people will say taste is subjective... BUT there definitely are some companies out there that have better juice. Better ingredients used to make it will affect the taste! There are tons of threads on here with juice recommendations, also a lot of juice reviewers in the reviews section. My two favorites i have been ordering from right now are jvapes.com and fuzionvapor.com. I watched some youtubes from one of my favorite reviewers (therealmac) and he really liked these two. Best advice, get out there and try new vendors because there's tons! i stuck with ivape.net for a long time before discovering other companies.

For the ce5, dump that gross juice out! If you start getting a burnt taste thats when you will know it is time to change that atomizer head. Sometimes juices and the flavorings can leave a lingering taste in a ce5, atomizer, cartomizer or whatever. There are techniques to cleaning out a ce5.. lots of youtubes here is one i found: How to clean a CE5 a.k.a. Vision Ego Clearomizer a.k.a. Stardust - YouTube

Good luck with your vaping adventure! Lots of info here on these forums!

Thanks all for the advice and congrats. The cleaning makes sense now! And as for flavors, I know its a subjective thing, but much like my other addiction (fountain pens) things like certain flavors tend to become popular for a reason, and are typically a good place to start looking.

DrApex - I've noticed that with the ce5s and the wicks being at the top. I've already learned to rotate the unit before I vape, and have gotten pretty good at making that habit before and during. Again, thanks to my pen addiction, I've already been trained in getting used to strange and finnicky means of doing things.

I'm checking out the reviews for juices now, and I can honestly say that its very overwhelming, but excellent to have so many choices.

Welcome to our obsession :) I tried a few premade fluids, but everyone's tastes seem to vary so much, I just started DIYing it. There are quite a few flavor sites. That way I can save money and mix the flavors with the taste and intensity that I want. An added benefit is the ability to fine tune my nic intake. Obviously you need to read up on safe ways to do this, but once you get your own, one of a kind "goto" fluid, nothing beats it :) Otherwise there are hundreds, if not thousands of fluids just waiting for you to try :)

So far, the artemas DCT gives me the best hits of anything I've tried. Cartomizers, clearomizers, eGo tanks, whatever.

Of course, it only hits as good as the cartomizer, but since it's submerged in liquid, it always has the right amount of juice.

The DCT carto has the atomizer portion on the bottom, by the way.

The tank I use is here: http://www.mistymountainvapors.com/510-Dual-Coil-Tank-Cartomizer-DCT.htm

The cartos I use have 3 holes in them: http://www.mistymountainvapors.com/510-DCT-Replacement-Cartomizer-dctcart.htm

There's lots of tanks out there. Even hand made, Pyrex glass tanks with your custom logo on it. However, the principle of tank vaping is the same. The cartomizer, once again, is doing all the vape-work.

Your mileage may vary
