I first want to say hello to everyone at ECF. I am so glad I found this forum as I was about to order the V2 Ultimate kit and now realize that probably wouldn't have been the best idea and was WAY more expensive than many others. I didn't realize how big ecigs had gotten, I thought they were still pretty new and mainly just reserved for the guy at the kiosk in the mall.

Now for the questions.

I am a pack a day of Marb 27s smoker and have been for 6 years now. I have been meaning to quit for quite some time, even tried Chantix but don't get me started on that nightmare. My first child just turned 6 mo. and it's time I really start actively working on quitting. I think I have decided on the KGO from Hoosier E Cig Supply. I don't care about having an ecig that looks or feels like an analog, so that's not an issue. I plan on filling my own cartos and am looking for some suggestions on which to get, what liquids, that sort of thing. I know most of the liquid thing is personal preference, but some advice about where to start would be great. I'm sure I will have a bunch more questions but thank you all for your help in advance!

Hello and welcome!
I like Juicy Vapor. They have all organic juices, that just taste good.
You may find your taste changing over the next few weeks/months. Most of us do.

You'll get a lot of suggestions for an eGo/Kgo type battery.
Personally, I would go with a mod for better battery life like a Provari or Apex Alpha or a GLV. Golden Greek if you want to spend the money.
I also would use atomizers instead of cartridges or cartomizers, just my opinion.

Good luck and happy vaping!

Hi Mattvus and welcome to ECF. Congrats on making the switch and also for the new addition in your family. KGO is a good long life PV.
Here's a discount code= 5off for 5% off at Hoosier
free shipping for orders of $55 or more so if you can get the order above $55.00 you'll save.
I'd suggest another battery. Boge cartomizers are a quality brand. Resurrector 1.7 aka SmokTech 1.7 cartos are also good- takes 1.75 ml juice so less refilling.

Crystal Clear Vaping has a better deal but they;re closed until Jan. 15
Smok Tech XL 510 Single Coil Cartomizer - 5 Pack has an even better deal but out of stock for another week. Discount Code= 15% off= ECFDCV

Hi and welcome Mattvus. Congrats on the decision to quit.

Brent at Hoosier solved my mysterious pv yesterday when I had all but given up. He has some great prices plus he was extremely helpful with suggesting juice for my DH who smokes Marlboro lights. He shipped my order about 3 hrs after I placed it so just saying you might want to talk with him about juice.

Also Mom and Pop Vapor Shop have some pretty tasty flavors, my favorite is Pchela's Famous Five Layer but so far all of them I have tried are really good.

I have quite a bit of $$$ invested in samples and I'm still looking for the perfect all day vape. I'd start with samples.

You might want to check the 2011 juice of the year award under "General E-Smoking Discussion"

Great choice on the KGO :) Mine lasts all day and vapes very well on Boge 2.0 ohm LR cartomizers. The Boge work very well but don't vape for extended periods of time. I am happy with them but I am starting to look for something that holds more juice and vapes as well as the Boge LR (I am new to this as well). The Boge is fine and excellent for around the house, but I need something to take to work and not have to top off as much.
As far as juice, put Vermillion River on your list to check out. VR gets great reviews so I ordered a sampler and I love the one flavor that I have tried- Butter Rum. I am eager to try the other samples :) Best wishes!

Hi Mattvus, and welcome to ECF
The KGO is a great kit, especially to start with. I actually started with a V2 kit before finding ECF. Overall, not the worst, but it is expensive.
Brent at HoosierECidSupply has good prices on cartomizers, so pick up a couple of different ones. I suggest these 3 to start with - 2.0 ohm low resistance cartomizers
3.0ohm single coil 510 Cartomizer
dual coil cartomizer (Grab a variety of these at different ohm ratings, including a couple of clear ones)
Grab some drip tips. They all fit, so just pick some you want to try. Drip Tips

As far as juices, get a variety. Every vendor has a sampler pack that you can customize. TRy tobacco and non-tobacco flavors alike. Grab at least one RY4 blend, as all vendors have a version of it, and it is usually very good.

I suggest a tobacco sampler from Mom and Pop's Vapor Shop, as well as the Pchela's 5 layer.
A couple of can't miss flavors are Boba's Bounty from Alien Visions and Copper Creek House Blend. Vermillion River has great juices, and I have yet to find one that I hate.

Wow, thank you all for the fast, friendly and helpful advice! I'm not sure how to do the whole html link thing but I plan on ordering the KGO kit, Dual Coil Cartomizer Tank Kit, 2.0 ohm low resistance 510 cartomizer.(single coil) 5 pack, Pre Punched Replacement tank cartomizers and Dekang E-Liquids 24mg form hoosier. Looks like I'm going to have to wait until he gets another shipment though since he just sold out of the KGO kits. The sample packs you all recommended are also top of my list as well. Is there anything else I am missing here? Also, does anyone know of a shop in the atlanta area where I could get good juice from?

Make sure you get drip Tips. They are essential because:
they help prevent juice from entering the moth/ lips- burns
if carto heats up prevents lips from being burned.
looks nice :D
As for cartos you'll prolly want at least 10 maybe 15. Each one generally last 1 week but there is a slight learning curve. Also be advised there' a learning with tanks and the viscosity of the juice is important- too thick and it won't flow while too thin and it floods the carto.
Good Luck.

Good Luck.
I never would have imagined feeling so welcome here.
It's all fake...we're really very miserable old toots :D

Thank you all again for the wonderful advice, I never would have imagined feeling so welcome here. I think I have a better handle on what I should get to start out with. From what I have read I am guessing I will need maybe 3-4ml of juice per day and just need to experiment with the different cartos to figure out what I prefer?
