Hello ECF! Newbie here with question about Headaches

First of all I wanted to say hello to everyone. I am really grateful that this forum is here! I used to pass by the ecig kiosk in the mall and think it was a scam, then my friend told me about it. Of course my research led me here and you guys convinced me to try it. I bought my first ecig on Sat and I have been using it since, although I have been smoking like 2-4 analogs still a day. I am getting some headaches. I thought maybe it could be the other chemicals in the analogs, or maybe I am getting too much nicotine, although I am using a 2 piece ecig with 6mg cartridges..Has anyone else gotten headaches when they first started? Just curious. Thanks so much!

Hello, and welcome.
I have had a few headaches since starting to vape. I believe this could be to a number of reasons and yes too much nic could be one of them. However for me it was the dehydration, if you look around on the forums and around the net you will find that one of the things that happens when you inhale the vapor is that your body will become dehydrated faster. I just increased my water intake and haven't had a problem since.
I am in no way a medical professional, just relaying my experience, hope your headaches improve!
Happy vaping.

Pre-filled is probably pg which will dry you right out esp this time of year, as stated try drinking more water, like 7-11 big-gulps worth see if that lessens em.

Also make sure to ditch em or refill as soon as vapor production drops slightly or it tastes a little off, prefilled probably has some sort of fluval filler material and depending on what kind, melting a little of that in with the vape could feasably hurt your head.

However it could also be completely unrelated, headaches can be mysterious things.

Hi Heatherly, glad to see you joining us here...welcome :) As for the headaches, that's common with a few people when they first begin vaping. It could either be your body adjusting the sudden lack of analogs (real cigarettes), or you could possibly be sensitive to the PG (Propylene Glycol) that's in your carts. Some people find that VG (Vegetable Glycol?) filled carts works better for them.

I myself experienced headaches, along with dry sinuses and a sore throat for a few weeks when I began vaping. From the moment I recieved my first e-cigarette, I stopped smoking (very same day) and I was at two packs a day at the time.

The headaches will pass and so will the dry sinuses and sore throat (if you start experiencing those too.) PG tends to dry you out...your body will get used to it and in a week or two...three by the latest, it will pass.

Good luck and happy vaping :)

What Mr. Hyde said.

Could be a numbers of things. Try the advice of hydrating yourself more. Wean yourself off the analogs. Try different types of juice. could be any combination of VG/PG giving you a headache. Lots of advice here.

Did you suffer from headaches before? If not, then it more than likely has something to do with the transition. Just need to be systematic and find out what it is. Be patient.

Welcome to the forums neighbor! :)

Usually, when I have headaches it's from my nicotine level being too low, so I just mix in a bit of higher juice and vape away. There can be little pitfalls along the way, such as your taste buds deciding to take a holiday or making things taste weird, but don't let these things discourage you from your goal.

Sorry to hear about the headaches, but welcome to the ECF. You are in good hands here. BTW, I grew up in Plantation :).

Oh nifty. Grew up and still reside in the Sunrise/Plantation area myself.

HI and Welcome to ECF. I also had a few headaches when I stopped smoking and some dehydration. I really liked drinking Gatoraid that seemed to help. I also think at 6mg that you are probably not getting enough nic to be causing the problem, it's probably getting off the cigs.

Good Luck and Happy Vaping, it only gets better and easier if you really are willing to work at it. There will be times when nothing seems to work right. Your tastes will change and something nothing seems to want to work right, but stick with it and you will eventualy find what works for you.
