Hi. I've been checking u guys out for about a week now and I really love the site. I do have some questions that I am sure have been answered elsewhere but I just can't figure this whole thing out. Right now I have an EOS Aquamizer ecig that just isn't doing it for me anymore. I'm still smoking analogs and barely using the thing. I was looking tonight at the following item Beginner Starter Kit - DiscountVapers.com and have some questions.

First off, would this be a good starter kit. I've never used a manual before and am unsure if I will like it or not but I really want flavor and vapor. Also I'm not quite sure about the clearomizers and how they work like how often do they need changing or is there something else I may be able to switch to using the same battery. I don't want to buy something that will just get ruined in a week.

Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated. I really want to quit the real thing but this little device I have now just isn't doing it. Help me please. Thank you in advance for any and all advice.

Hello and Welcome to ECF, that kit doesn't look bad, my wife and I use a Kgo which is similar to
what you're looking at. But the battery will last
longer. You can see the kit at Dark City Vapor,
Hoosier ecig, Sweet-Vapes. It's not much, like
$45 with 2 batteries, charger, DCV gives a deal
On cartos with kit. And the vision clearomizers
work good, I have the LR (low resistance).Easy
to fill and you can see how much juice is left.

I have an eGo and I like it a lot - good hit and vapor. My batteries are 1000 mah. The ego or the kgo referenced in the post above are a good starting out choice, especially if you already tried a smaller 'like a cigarette' type and found that not enough. I would suggest that you get a kit that comes with 2 batteries, or order an extra battery so that you have two. Even with the longer battery life it's good to have a back up so that you always have one charged and ready to go.

I haven't used a clearomizer before, so I can't give an opinion on that. I've been using cartomizers, which are easy to refill. I would suggest taking a look at several ego or kgo starter kit offerings from several vendors.

Good luck and welcome to ECF! This is a good place to be connected with as You start out.

The main problem I see is that with only one battery/power unit, you're going to be completely out of commission while the battery recharges.

A better choice would be a Smoktech e-Power 14650 with two replaceable batteries and a charger, some 1.5 ohm single-coil cartomizers, a Smoktech 3.5ml DCT tank, and a couple of stainless steel 1.5 ohm XL cartomizers to go in it. Great bare-bones way to start.

Then get to variable voltage as soon as you can.

***

Get this kit right here, from Sweetvapes:

14650 Black Carto Kit

For $41.95 you get everything but the DCT tank. It includes 5 stainless steel XL 1.7 ohm (close enough) single coil cartos. No-brainer. And they have it in stock, which is not always the case.

Don't get dual coil cartomizers because singles will give you more flavor; the coil will get warmer at 3.7 volts than will those of a dual coil.

If you don't like it, which you will, I'll buy it off you for what you paid for it. This is the kit I buy for friends just starting out, and I can always use more.

It's 3.7 volts as opposed to Joyetech eGo's which are 3.4. kGo's are 3.7, but the battery is not replaceable. With an e-Power you can use different battery chemistries, and you don't have to replace the whole unit when a battery goes bad. Same with the switch.

Fill the cartomizers slowly and repeatedly until juice starts dripping out of the bottom, and always keep them moist while you're vaping. Do not let them dry out or the polyfill will get scorched and they will taste like crap.

Hi, Welcome to ECF & congratulations on your decision! I personally use the E-Power 14650 & chose it mainly for the replaceable batteries & switch. It was/is my first upgrade from overpriced junk gas station (& worse) cig-sized PVs & it's still working like a champ. BTW I got it from Sweet-Vapes late last year (Sept. maybe?). I'll ditto everything John D wrote about it except I've never used a tank - read too many horror stories on here about 'em & never saw any point in 'em for me anyway.

Never tried the KGO but have seen great reports from happy customers on here. Unless the prices have changed since I last checked, Dark City probably has the best deal on them here: SLB KGO Starter Kit

I also agree you will need at least 2 batteries whatever PV you decide to get. Batteries (& switches) for the E-Power are cheap enough I went ahead & bought 2 spare batts, a spare switch & spare charger early on. Someone wrote, "You can't have too many spares!" and I took it to heart, but really with the E-Power you don't need many.

Best of luck, watch for the best prices & ck for discount codes, & Happy Vaping! :vapor:

It says the KGO from Dark City Vapor comes with "5 empty cartomizers". now are these similar to blank tanks from volcano? or are these cartos? like those cheap disposable things i've heard about with like a mesh thing on the inside that you have to soak the e-liquid into? i would much prefer if it was just a tank.

Hi Everyone. Sorry it's taking so long to answer anyone but I was asleep. Thanks so much for your ideas. I completely spaced out that it only said one battery. I will definitely need 2. I'm gonna check out the other ones you guys have mentioned. I have been trying to research this stuff and I was getting very overwhelmed with everything out there. I knew this would be the best place to check with. I wanted to get a tank in the beginning until everyone was saying that they leak. I won't take that kind of chance. I will keep you posted on any more questions or decisions i come up with. Thanks again everyone.

You were alseep? What kind of sorry excuse is that? And you want to be a vaper .... kid, I don't think you've got what it takes.

J/K of course. I fell asleep once, and I still consider myself a vaper. Hey, don't be put off by the naysayers about tanks. They don't all leak, just as all cars don't suck. They are so much more convenient than cartos that I think you should definitely try one. Again, the DCT 3.5ml from Smoktech is very good, and I hear great things about the Mini Submarine tank from Mom and Pop's Vapor Shop. The Mini Sub (and the bigger Sub) are super-easy to fill, with a screw-in plug on the side that allows filling without sliding the tank off of the carto. Also a must-try is an EMDCC (Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer), which is just a BIG cartomizer that lasts a long time and produces good hits.

My own person opinion: I have found my absolute favorite "Toy". For the last 2 weeks, I have been vaping with a LavaTube from volcanoecigarettes.com. It's considerably bigger than the "mini" cigs, but has the option of adding a tank that holds 7 ml of e-juice and will keep you happy all day long, or even longer for lighter vapers... For me, it lasts about a day. The Lavatube Starter kit is $99 with battery, charger, atomizer, a.s.o. More expensive than the kit you are talking about but it's GREAT! One battery charge lasts all day, I don't like dripping too much so I'm in love with my tank and have both the 4 ml and 7 ml tanks by now..... :)

I know. I can't believe i fell asleep. lol. A tank is something that I would really like to try bc it holds more juice and is see thru. I actually don't want to drip. I think that will be too much of a pain. I will check into those.

Actually, I am going to look around again and see about tanks again. I'm just not sure about a carto thingy. I don't know. This is why I'm so confused about all of it. I'm gonna read some more posts too on here and see what i can figure out.

Thanks guys.

Cartomizers are good. Also tanks with cartomizers are good. I've gotten some tanks from Parkes Vaping, they are only $8.00 a shot, so you aren't spending so much to try one. How they work is, there is a cartomizer inside with a hole punched in the bottom. You fill the tank with liquid using a syringe, and the liquid gets absorbed from the tank into the cartomizer through the hole. The ones I've tried don't leak at all, and no cracking from the ejuice. Hope this helps, and happy vaping....as long as you're awake that is! lol!
