Hi, all! I am a first-time poster and future long-term member (I hope, heh). I have smoked e-cigs for a few months now, namely the V2 two-piece ones, and have been looking for an upgrade. I am 26 years old, have smoked at least a pack a day of Marlboro 27s for about nine years now (occasionally doing Reds when I can't find 27s), and really prefer my cigarettes strong and full-flavored (and, for the time being, I want to stick to tobacco flavors). The 18 strength max for the regular two-piece V2s is another reason why I am looking to move up. I still smoke an average of 3 regular cigarettes a day, probably because of the strength. After some research and whatnot, I am considering getting the eGo-C starter kit w/ 650 mah battery from DFW vapor (dfwvapor.com), because that is nearby and has been recommended by several people. It's also only $70 right now. I'm also a starving college student, so I'm not looking to spend too much money, and was thinking about $150 as the upper limit for a starter kit. Thanks for the help!

On a side not, I have another question of pure curiosity. Do all of you still consider yourselves "smokers?" As in, if a form at the doctor's office asks if you smoke, do you check 'yes' or 'no'? Thanks again!

Hi Debased, Welcome to the forum. I was just wondering if the ego you are considering is an ego c twist or just an ego c? I and many others here would recommend getting an ego type battery that is has variable voltage. It will greatly improve the quality of your vape. Being able to turn the voltage up or down will allow you to get the best flavor from your juices as well as fine tune how much throat hit you get. The two most popular e gigs in that class are the ego twist and the vision spinner. They both do the same thing. Here is a kit that I have seen recommended a lot lately. http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm It has everything you need except liquid. Also.. No I don't consider myself a smoker anymore but if the health insurance people ask I would have to say I use nicotine.

Hi Debased and welcome to ECF! I have not smoked in a year now, so I would answer 'No' at the doctors office. Insurance is about the same here in Canada, they consider us non-smokers after a year.

I started with a eGo-C kit and it worked out well for me, flavor is really clean. I still use them when I want to do a short trial of a homemade juice or just know I only want to vape 1 ml and then change. Having said that, the downside is they require more maintenance than any other device I know of. There are a lot of people who had problems with them. If you want the eGo batteries without variable voltage, go with a kit that includes them and perhaps CE4 clearos, or Vision Vivi Nova's. For not much more money you can get the same kit with eGo Twist or Vision Spinner VV batteries. I don't know where the best deals are on them, but I'm sure others will pipe in with that info.

Cool, thanks. I'm gonna do that kit with the Spinner batteries and Vision clearos. I saw on another thread a mention of Vivi Nova tanks. Should I get a couple of those as well?

Getting a couple of something else is a great idea. Every device works well for some people, but not everyone. The Vivi Novas have a good following around here. Can't hurt to get one or two to try out. Don't forget you will need juice too.

JustVaping has the 1100 mah ego c twist kit for like $43. I ordered mine there a few days ago and received it today. I was using a terrible blu cig and the twist is definitely a huge step up. If you use coupon code ecf5 you can get 5% off your order.

These do not look like Joye Twist batteries to me. Mine have only a dot on the barrel, no numbers. Yes, it's a bit cheaper, but unless someone has experience with this particular battery, quality is unknown. That also makes me wonder about the clearos. I'm not saying this is a bad deal, just that for me a few bucks more for products I know about is worth it.

A twist with a nova is a very solid set up. I found the hardest thing to be satisfied vaping was finding the "best" juice. I landed on rawr vapor and its been my go to for 5 months. Get the 24 mg 80/20 pg/vg sample pack and you should be set. I have heard good things about the bounty but haven't tried it.

Oh, One more thing--the beauty of that kit is that you can customize it. I suggest you get one Spinner, one Twist (maybe 650 mAh Twist) and different clearos; get a T3 or an eVod and a T2 so you can try a top coil design also!

+1! Welcome to the forum. I haven't smoked in three years, so I do not consider myself a smoker.

Get a Provari! Just kidding. No. The Twist seems like a good idea. You might want to go for an ego type battery with pass through. Those are lifesavers, even if you decide to go big in the future. The pass throughs are great because you plug a mini USB (old motorola razor) in the end of your battery and can vape while your battery is plugged into a wall outlet, then can unplug and go for a while. You can plug into your car stereo if you have a USB port! They run pretty cheap too. Tank systems are good for going out. Dripping is really reliable and juice saving when you are home and relaxing.
