Welcome .... you've already completed the hard part so keep up the good work!
Cutting higher creates a tip-and-vape situation but reduces the length of the wick. As with most things vaping there is no “one” way. The critical bit is to have just the right amount of wick so that a satiated wick plugs the hole so it doesn’t leak but also isn’t so tight that it prevents juice from flowing through the wick. That part is less optional.Been re-watching Ares reviews in preparation for tomorrows arrival of my Ares MTL-RTA.
Bit confused, most folks seem to stress that you need to trim the wick to just or nearly touch the bottom of the deck. Then i watched a young lady who cut hers half way up because she does not like the look of it hanging below the bell?
Which is it, or does it really not matter?
Rolling it around in my head as long as tank is full it doesn't seem to matter. Except that, if you cut higher you could possibly go dry even though tank is not quite empty, thereby effectively reducing the effective volume (vape time) for a fill-up.
Am I missing something? Down the rabbit hole I go ...
Oh dear. That’s a shineyitis warning sign..That makes sense, thanks for the help. Feeling a bit like a child on Christmas Eve.
12 seems to work pretty well. If I need a boost the 12 in the Scion DL fills my nic tank quick. lolWelcome to the friendly bunch
We've all been there so come over if your feeling twitchy, not to mention vaping like there's no tomorrowMake sure you're on the relevant nicotine level for you?
There are 2 types, In a pressure tank, like the kayfuns

..Jumping both feet down the rabbit hole..
Good luck with the Ares
Congratz!Passed the 30 day smoke free point early this week. Rewarded myself with a Doggy and the 75w pico.
Hello @rschaad, glad to hear that things are going well for you.
I can recommend the Exvape Expromizer V4 (reviewed by @Shawn Hoefer) for at least a look, the Acrylic makes things a bit more pocket and occasional drop friendly. I'm still waiting on the 4ml Acrylic bubble though. They're reasonably easy to build, can be completely dismantled for cleaning and you can even adjust the airflow a little more by removing the deck from the base and tightening or loosening the screw.

@TheGentleman, simple coils aren't that terrifying and steam-engine.org has tools that can help you work out coils that may be of interest to you. To make them you just use round wire and a form such as a drill bit (old school), and then wrap the wire around the form the required number of times. The wicking part can be a pain at times though.
