First, welcome to ECF and I'm glad you and your wife are making another quit attempt. That's great.

Even rotating flavors (which is a good idea) you may still get vaper's tongue at some point. Usually happens as the old, damaged tastebuds die off from smoking and get replaced. It's fairly common, but it usually only lasts a few days. I'd recommend getting some unflavored and keeping it around for those 3 days to a week-ish, so that you don't have the "expectation" of flavor and wind up disappointed. The most important thing to know about vapor's tongue is that it passes, given enough time, and should really only happen once provided you don't return to smoking. Knowing it will pass is sometimes enough motivation to keep going. Lots of remedies for vaper's tongue should you need them. You may or may not, every quit is different, but if you do, find a way to vape through it, don't return to smoking.

Wishing you much success this time around. I took me a while to totally return to vaping as well. Many years. Good luck,

Anna
That's the 2nd recommendation I've heard for unflavored. I'll pick some up for sure. And thank you so much for the inspiring words!

This is attempt #2 at the anolog > vape switch. My wife and I just bought new setups (our old ones seem so dated, after only 2 years lol). I'm liking the beefier manufactured coils much better than the old school tiny ones that would burn up quick. My downfall last time, was sticking to one flavor..for a few months. Eventually it started tasting disgusting to me..matter of fact, so did everything else I tried. It was strange, as if I killed/......ed my taste buds.
Welcome and glad you joined.
Noticed you have some pretty high powered rigs. Taste can be wiped out if your heat settings are incorrect. I find that the wattage that works for me is usually a few watts over the lowest watt setting (where i can barely see the vape cloud on the exhale). Lower watt settings lessen the chance of burning the liquid/wick and generates my perceived best flavor. After I get my Atty (coil and chamber heat up) going for awhile, I will often times turn the power down or up a watt or so to see if I can taste more flavor. I'm often surprised at how much better tasting the vape can be by adjusting the vape temp/wattage.
I'm not totally free of the cigs yet, but I'm smoking much less as I continue to wean myself (mostly mentally) off them. I'm glad to be here, and have already learned so much from browsing various posts.
It's ok not to be totally free. It just means you haven't been able to find your taste, settings and juice happy spots.

Hey Chellie. Thank you for the well wishes. That's great. It is definitely inspiring to here the success of another former smoker. I like your all-or-nothing approach. I currently have a few packs left in the last carton I bought. I will not be making my normal 'almost out' trip to the Indian rez this time :)

Great to meet you and thanks again!
You're welcome. I see some posted about the Kanger Subtank mini. That is what I use. I am not super adventurous with my vaping. I turned to vaping to get off of regular cigs and I now vape regularly. For me, I want something that would last awhile and is easy to use. The subtank fits the bill. It is super easy to use and gives a nice vape. The coil screws in on the bottom of the tank and when you need to fill up your tank the top screws off so you do not have to take anything apart. Plus you can build your own coils if you so desire. And it takes batteries so as long as your keep your vape in good shape it will last a good while. All you need to do is switch out the batteries.

That's really good that you made the decision to not buy any more analogs. I had set the day that I was going to start vaping and on that day the few analogs I had I threw out and just stuck with vaping. When I first started vaping the choices were not as vast so it was a big adjustment.

As far as the dual use vaping and smoking --- I know there are some folks who were successful that sort of weaned themselves off. Not me. All or nothing. I turned a friend on to vaping and she is still smoking and vaping.

I think it is great that you and your wife are doing it together so you can both support each other.

Let us know your progress.

My vapers tongue cure is a straight menthol juice, I still get taste fatigue on my fav juices, and a refill of menthol brings back my juice when it's done.
I hate menthol. Lemon wedge and salt for me. Sometimes I even take the straight up lemon juice with a bunch of salt and swish it around and then I can taste again.
