I personally don't think the vivi nova mutes my juice.. the whole reason I bought and tried it was to get away from the filler taste I was getting in the boge cartos. I use very little flavoring and I like it with my vanilla juice compared it using it in a boge in a tank.
I hear it's pretty good with 100%VG juice.. seems to cling to the wicks. It's cheap enough to try anyways. Be aware the vivi nova likes lower voltages, at least at first. I've bought some cotton wick and kanthal wire but haven't coiled my first coil yet.. it looks easy on the videos but I'm still a bit hesitant LOL.

You buy the "kit" for around $15. .it comes with the tank and 3 "heads". The heads are replaceable and can be bought for around $3 each. The wicks in the heads are replaceable/rebuildable.. you can get premade wicks at avidvapor for $1 each, I bought some and they work well. OR you can buy your own wick and wire and coil your own dirt cheap. Like I said above, I have the stuff to do it but haven't done it yet.. practicing with the premade wicks first. The heads come in different resistances.. in the kit, you get 1.8, 2.4 and 2.8.. I like the 2.8 the best on the provari. I would eventually like to get a penelope from cloudsofvapor.. those that have them worship them.. you can click to "notify me" and you will get an email when it can be bought. It's $122 though. I did click to notify me, and got an email in a couple days.. but with just paying my daughter's tuition.. I can't swing $122. I consider the vivi nova the poor man's (or woman's) rebuildable LOL

I haven't had any issue with juices that have a stronger flavor to start with, but like the cool melon I have from vape dudes is such a mild flavor it doesn't work well in my vivi nova, but almost everything else I have does. Tho I have started DIY'ing my juice so now I adjust it to taste.

With the juice that I use, all vg

Have you thought about getting a box mod, and then not using a carto or tank at all, just a drip tip and atty on it?

A good atty that can handle 100% VG. Would bypass all the polyfill, holes-in-cartos, wicking issues. Just squeeze your juice bottle up, juice goes up into the atty, and take a hit.

I don't know much so if this is a stupid suggestion, please weight in. :)

I would really like a Vivi Nova, but isn't it still made out of polycarb? If a polyethylene one becomes avialable I would be interested.

I've tried bottom feeders. They're neat, but really, not for me.

I love my ProVari. It is most likely the only device I'll ever need. Too expensive to think about expanding PV-wise. I think I am going to try that nova tank, and I am compiling a list of flavors from various vendors to try out as well.

My friend has two vivi novas and I haven't been even slightly impressed with them in stock form. Vapor is inconsistent, draw is too tight and flavor is muted. We tried rewicking with cotton and recoiling them a few nights ago with a massive improvement. If you want to take the time to fix the problems it has then it really does work very well.

I've found the CE3 XL's (or pheonix bottom coil) to be pretty amazing too. They tend to have their own issues but again if you're willing to play with them then they're probably the best of the "CE" style vapes I've found to date.

Trying carto tanks again might be worth it too - I've found they work very well with boba's but you really have to make the holes exceptionally big. Then again with the carto world up in the air right now and boge in a state of uncertainty I can't really say I've found a carto that I really like lately.

I can't be much use on the tobacco flavors though, I'm not really hugely into tobacco flavors. I can say though that one of my friends recently got some "X-1" (I believe) which is a tobacco from americaneliquidstore and likes it a lot. I'll also recommend you to my new favorite juice vendor "fuzionvapor" because almost all his juices are unique, tasty and inexpensive!

Bluemistvaping is another favorite.

Also check out vaporbeast for the vivi nova. Cheaper and free ship

I'm all over this vendor. Cheap drip tips, cheap tanks, cheap drip shields, free shipping. I'm in love.

Not much of a fan of having to extensive doctoring, but, I'm still giving it a shot.

Meh, if all else fails I might look into these. If I'm going CE-style, I'm going to try a tank CE first, ya know?

Trust me, my friend, I have tried and tried and tried to get the carto tank to wick well with Boba's. I have a tank from CCV, and I was using the resurrectors 1.7ohm. And when I get it to work, man, it was just fantastic! But I went through 3 packs of those cartos and had maybe 2 work perfectly.

I had mentioned earlier in the thread, some of the things I tried included making exceptionally large holes in the carto. Along with that, I tried making multiple holes, of various sizes. I tried pre-soaking the carto before putting into the tank. I even diluted my juice

I am going to try this vivi nova out, and also, a few new juices.

Thanks for the heads up on the CE3, I'll check 'em out some time or another... (unless you wish to save me from my laziness and throw some links in ;) )

I did something very uncharacteristic-like, I made the purchase afore knowledge of how large (or small) my paycheck will be tomorrow.

Ah well, I've got to live spontaneously every now and again, else life gets stale!

I went ahead at bought the Nova, a drip shield (on sale, had to), and a pseudo-ming drip tip. Yes, I know it's only $21, but that much to a full time college student can make or break a budget ;)

Will be purchasing new juices upon cash arrival! Thanks again for the help, everyone, I will post back with my impressions and please, feel free to add more information on new and savvy products!

I love the tank and carto system and found that all the problems I had with using them was the juice I placed in it. If you stick to 50/50 blends you should have no problems getting them flowing. There have been some issues with cartos depending on what the vendors get from suppliers. A good carto that is reliable are the smoke tech resurrectors either the standard or Jrs depending on length of your tank.
I still use boge as they are my favorites, but like I mentioned there have been some bad batches going around, try vaporbeast, they seem to have a consistent supply.
Lifespan of the cartos will depend on juice and how you punch the carto.
If you really enjoy your Bobas and other high VG juive I suggest the Vivi Nova tank system. It seems to handle the heavy, thick, carto killer juices without much of a sacrifice in taste. They do have their short break in period, but basically you get your tank, fill it and vape. As the juice gets lower you do a little swish to saturate your wicks and keep on vaping. You use it till your head doesnt perform as well, and pop on a new head. You can clean the heads and reuse again till coils just dont want to work or you can rebuild the wicks yourself.

You talk of having trouble with your Boba's bounty in a carto tank. I've heard many times that Pbusardo using it in his boges in tanks with no trouble. Might want to shot him an email and see what he's doing or not doing to get it to work. If you get a vivi nova, let me know how it's working for you.

I believe he slots his with a dremmel. Which is, my last resort, if this nova doesn't work out. :)

I don't own a dremmel, but, if it works that much better, I'll invest. That is, of course, present plan aside and not working.

Okay, well, I got my tank today.

Of course, I get sick this morning, so, I cannot really tell if the flavor is coming out right. Towards the beginning of the day, I could swear that Boba's tasted a bit odd in it (the Nova tank, btw). It tastes much like the G4 (remember those :p ). Though, my sense of taste pretty much diminished immediately this morning, so, I will continue to use the tank until I can fully taste again and give more a more detailed observation.

However, TH is fantastic on it. I am using some of the thickest stuff, Boba's Bounty, and it's notorious for being a pain when it comes down to being used in a tank. Yes, I do have to frequently turn the device upside down to 'feed' the coil, but, that is really nothing compared to having to drip whilst driving. So, in that spectrum, I am quite pleased with it!

If it comes down to the flavor still tasting odd, I can always try a different juice in it. I am going to be trying a few new ones next week. More on all of this. . . later. :)
