The Cylon is tempting. I am getting it at a pretty decent deal for under 4K. I just want to pull the trigger on that but I am (as usual!) confused ! Though the vendor does give me his guarantee. :cry::cry::cry:
Pull the trigger and buy it would be my advice, it is a handsome device that performs well and Smoant has an excellent reputation for correcting any issues. Sometimes you have to close your eyes and just jump...:)

This is just one part of the puzzle. Awaiting the charger. Got the batteries. And still confused about the 2nd tank. Only the Uwell crown 3 is kinda confirmed ! Scion and Cleito Exo seem a pain (vendors not responding!)
Good news is I got 300 ml of juice with the Cylon (Vape Breakfast and 2ohm6 juices, at 45% discount :D :D )
Again, thanks !! You just pulled the trigger on my behalf LOL :D

Must be a relief to have at least one decision out of the way. I can attest to the quality of the Cleito coils overall but most of their tanks have some minor seeping issues. Crown III coils are reportedly good but there are few coil options. The Scion has a fan base and there are more coil options available over the other two. If looks matter the Crown is the most attractive imo. Looks for an atty doesn't much matter to me but for some it does.

Most definitely does !
Looks absolutely dont matter. The cascade is guzzling my juice, so I want a couple of tanks that go easy on the juice yet not compromise vapor or flavour. Would be grateful for some suggestions from my list if you can :)
I have no personal experience with the Scion atty but you can look at all the coil options and see if there are one or two that would reduce the juice consumption. Look for single wire options, more wire mass = higher consumption.

@Vik171
Thanks for that information, will look into them!

@Letitia
The Scion itself seems a very difficult find. The scion and the cleito exo are stocked by one vendor each and they wont respond to my queries. That is proving to be the issue
Also other than single wire, higher the resistance less the juice right. To put in my (layman!!) terms, the .18 mesh of vaporesso will consume more juice than the .5 of Uwell right (assuming equal coil mass of course!)

That is not always the case. Coil construction, wire type and configuration, wick material all play a part. Again I would encourage you to utilize youtube to do some research or at least look for some written reviews.

Um I don't know which vendor you spoke to and I will REALLY be crossing my fingers for you.

I hate to say it, but I ordered my device in June. Unless it was really, really old stock (it's possible) mine should have been a newer Cylon without the issue. Mine was fine and the issue only started like 3--4 days ago, and I didn't do any updates, or change the wallpaper or anything. The only thing I did was turn down the brightness setting.

Since this occurred 10 days out of warranty, well, I emailed smoant and threw myself on their mercy, but I'm not really holding my breath. However, I too ALSO thought I was in the clear until the problem began, out of nowhere.

It's a bit disappointing but I suppose given I have other mods a plenty not really a dealbreaker either way, but I'll be sad when it goes.

My advice: use it heavily so if you do have an issue it will show up sooner. If you plan to update it or make any changes to settings such as brightness, time out display or anything else, do it on day one, so you'll get a better sense for if the issue will occur-- for you. Well, it will be your first mod, so you WILL use it heavily but as you near the end of the warranty period that might be around the time you are looking for a backup mod anyway, and if it does start to fail, you should have time enough to warranty or replace it.

I'm also going to say that any vendor carrying the Smoant Cylon is going to want to sell one . So, I'm not going to say that his recommendations are correct OR incorrect, but since you've already bought it, well hopefully what he is saying IS true.

Lots of folks dealing directly with Smoant for replacement are being offered a different mod than the Cylon. Whether it's that they "know" they haven't fixed the issue entirely or they are unloading older stuff I have no idea, but it makes me a bit wary.

With all that said, there are folks whose Cylons are just fine, and I hope you are among them. I'm just giving you this information in case you run into a worst case scenario as it's exactly what I WOULD do myself if I had just purchased a Cylon. I continue to maintain it is a fantastic mod, and I hope the issues are resolved and do NOT come up for you.

Good luck! I hope I'm not sounding too pessimistic here, I just wanted to mention this stuff, well, in case and etc.

Thanks Anna, I hope it would serve me well too. I just was not going to speak to n more vendors and ask around if they have the mod I want. Just hope for the best I suppose.
But tell me this, does that display problem render the mod useless (you cannot see what wattage you are setting?)? Just curious as to how Smoant can refuse a replacement if the thing becomes a paperweight!

@Letitia
The Crown III coils - just 2. No spread there. Guess its back to the drawing board for the atomizers. Are smok tanks ok? They are a dime a dozen out here with local vendors!

I honestly am hoping you'll be fine, truly. From what I hear, often the display will show one blank "line" and then it sort of slowly descends or ascends or whatever, into what looks like a fuzzy version (but if you get the first line, my understanding is the process usually worsens, so if you see ONE line, well, that would be the time to warranty it, because it's not going to improve, really, only get worse. Apparently (this hasn't happened to me yet) once the screen is completely "fuzzed up" it becomes unreadable at that point. I can post a pic of my display if you want. I haven't reached the Terminal Screen Event yet, so I can't say for sure that well, it will be completely unreadable but based on what folks are saying, that is what I am expecting. At that point, the mod becomes unusable in any case, because if you can't see the adjustments you are vaping, well you are in essence "vaping blind" and that can be unfortunate.

Keep in mind I ordered from Fasttech. It's totally possible that my Cylon was one of the older ones and I just don't know it, stock sometimes sits for a while, etc. So my guess is you will be totally fine. Really,. I'm just telling you this stuff in the UNLIKEELY event that it becomes an issue.

And no Smoant doesn't have to offer me mercy unless they choose to, I mean it cost me forty-something bucks, frankly, and while it is one of my all time favorite mods actually, and even if I can't vape it, well I probably won't buy another one, but I also do not expect life time guarantees from Chinese vaping companies, that is really just not how it works.

When I finally buy say, my Dicodes mod I am going to expect a little more, but those are like 400 dollar mods. Etc.

Anna

Somehow, that doesn't surprise me, SMOK somehow seems to find a way to saturate the market with their mods and tanks.

SMOK is kind of a controversial topic on this forum. People either love the company or hate it. I will say that SMOK coils seem to have a quality control issue (some duds right out of the box), and have a reputation to not last long during use. I suggest you do research on this forum to see for yourself the degree of satisfaction of actual users. I believe the SMOK tanks will accept coils other than those made by SMOK, but I don't personally follow that information.

Since SMOK is so readily available in your location, that might be a plus for you.

Thanks for your wishes. I hope it will be fine but if not, it is cool. I guess thats just the way it is. My friend got me a nvidia GPU from the US and all was hunky dory for a month. It then chose to go kaput once my friend left, so I was left with a $350 paperweight. My luck in these things are generally bad, not good news I know but I am inured, so its cool if that is the rabbit hole my mod decides to go down !!

@Baditude
I kinda guessed, from whatever I have read smok is generally a love-hate thingie. But this atomizer thing is driving me nuts. I want efficient juice consumption, good coil spread, good flavour, good vapour - I see I did not miss anything !! Well back to research I suppose. And without an atty I cant even begin to use the Cylon !! Irony abounds :D

I think you left out "availability to purchase".
