Hello from SE Florida

I'm sick and tired of smoking analog cigarettes. I researched vaping for a week before I bout one.
I bought the KangerTech KboxMini some replacement coils and some juice. Battery is a LGDBHE21865 discharge 20amps.
I have been a heavy smoker for 50 years (yeah, I'm an old geezer lol) and it's time to quit. I have dodged the bullet with my smoking too long.
I'm impressed with my selection and hope to learn from ya'll.
I've had this box for 3 days now and have cut my cigarette use to a point I am truly amazed. I'm using 12mg nicotine juice in menthol and I'm enjoying it with no withdrawal. i'm using the .50coil at 14 watts and get a hell of a clode. I hope to be at 0 nicotine soon.
I'm glad I found this form. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Peace
Jim

Hello @IronWolf , and welcome to the sanity. (and the Forum) :) You'll get to zero cigs. I was shocked at how easy it was for me. The most difficult for me was the first cig in the morning. I conquered it by getting a morning juice. Found a flavor (blueberry/muffin) that I would only use in the mornings. What it did was make me look forward to that morning flavor more than a cig, so I woke up "wanting" the vape I couldn't/wouldn't use after mid morning.

I also kept a cheap clearo/tank with the next higher nic in it for those times the regular vape "just couldn't scratch the itch". I'd hit it once and go back to the regular nic vape. Usually took from 3 days to a week to get "adjusted" to where the regular nic was all I needed. I used this same technique to lower my nic level in steps.

Good luck in your vape journey, you CAN do it!

Hi @IronWolf and welcome to ECF!

Congrats on joining the vaping community and slowing down on the cigarettes. Don't rush things - you'll get to no cigarettes in time if you want to. Just remember, every cigarette you don't smoke is a victory.

Happy Vaping!

Hello and welcome to the forum @IronWolf. Glad to have you here!:)

Just curious. Have you tried kicking you wattage up? I run my Kanger Subtank Mini (0.5Ω coil/airflow wide open) at 30-35 watts.

Not yet. Is there any reason for 35watts? I started at 7 watts wide open while playing with the Kanger. a day layer I went to 14 watts/2.8v/0.5Ω airflow wide open and pull on it like crazy. No throat hit and a big cloud. I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum and a whole new world. Interesting post. Seems like an introduction and a success story all in one. Well done. There is a lot of equipment out there, which is good, but can also make your head spin when trying to figure out what would work best. The nice thing is there are so many great peeps here that all have different setups so odds are someone will be able to answer your specific questions. Make yourself at home. We're glad to have you as part of the family.

Welcome to the board, and 'gratz on getting off the sticks. That's a good rig you bought, it should serve you well. Sing out if you have any questions. And don't be in a hurry to cut nic too deeply. I made that mistake once and went back to sticks for a couple of months.

Just a question: I'm a mod on KydexPro a firearm holster makers guild.
I just noticed that I have some trophys waiting for me.
My board doesn't have these rewards,
How do I redeem them?

BTW: I'm gonna make a thermoplastic material belt holder with a injected molded belt clip for my Kanger. I'll post some pictures when I'm done.

Welcome Jim! Yep. lots of ex-long time smokers here for sure. I sucked on the death sticks for 35+ years and chewed tobacco for another 5 or so until I found vaping. I was apprehensive before starting vaping because I "wrongly assumed" that is could not replace smoking or might not provide a physical sensation that smoking provides. I sure was wrong and to my surprise I can adjust my PG/VG of my juice to provide a throat hit that is stronger and better than smoking was and I get the same sensation in my lungs as I did when I smoked. Plus I get my nicotine that was in ciggs. In other words, vaping feels more satisfying and real than real ciggs do.

    @Susan~S
My KangerTeck recommends no higher than 30W for the .050coil. I turned it up to 30W and I damn near blew the top of my head off. Yep the flavor was enhanced but right now I'll turn it down. I'm at 15W and climbing.
    Thanks again for the comments.
