Hey guys. I'm new to this forum, and relatively new to e-cigs. I bought my first (real) e-cig just before Thanksgiving last year and I've been enjoying it ever since. I'm currently using a Kanger evod battery with a Kanger Mini Protank 2 with removable tip. I quickly learned that purchasing e-cig parts online is much cheaper than my local brick and mortar store. It's unfortunate, but I refuse to get ripped. I don't mind paying 20% more to buy local, but I refuse to pay 100-300% markup just to buy local, so I've researched and found legitimate online retailers to buy parts from and only buy liquid from my local supplie.

Welcome!

I agree with the B&M markups. Some are pretty ridiculous. I would say though, if you can, maybe don't throw them completely to the side. I order 99.9% online too, but I try to grab a bottle of juice, or some drip tips or something every once in a while from a local B&M. Just helps to support local small business in your community. That's how I look at it anyways.

Welcome. I like to walk into the one near work on lunch. I get to play with the different hardware and test out juices. Sometimes I find stuff reasonable sometimes the price makes me swallow my gum and I go online. There is something I like about supporting young people running a small business, the guys running my local shop are cool people and very knowledgeable, I don't mind helping them out even though I could spend a few bucks less online, depends on what it is.

hi and welcome to the club. great to be enjoying this journey with you :) .... i always support the local start-ups when i can, as i think we need to do that for our communities :) but sometimes you have to buy online as it is the only way to get what you are truly looking for... but in my case, our local shop is willing to order anything which is great for those times you need to get something quickly

Welcome to ECT! I completely agree with you. When I first starting vaping, I did a ton of research before I was able to decide what PV I wanted to go with. Of course the research I did was online and I already knew what I could purchase one for online. I went to my local B&M who wanted double what I could buy it for! I am all for supporting local business however, I do not want to be taken advantaged of either. I tried negotiating with them as I was willing to pay 20% more for the convenience and to support their business but, they would not drop in price. I did end up purchasing online and saved myself from over paying. I will still go to my local B&M for purchasing items like juice and coils if needed but, I tend to do 99% of my shopping online. The B&M stores are good for when you are in a pinch and need something immediately. Of course it is priced a bit higher but, that is what you get for the convenience.

I'm all about supporting local businesses, and I understand that they probably have a much higher overhead than some of the online vendors, but too much is just too much. For example, I purchased my first kanger mini protank 2 from my local supplier and paid $23.99 +tax. I purchased my second mini protank 2 online for $13.99. He sells individual replacement coils for $4.99 each, however, he does over a 5 pack for $15, which is fair. But what really got me is his price for the Kanger T2 replacement tanks (that he includes in his starter kits) - $- 18.99.... Those can be purchased online from a reputable dealer for $4 each. I still buy my liquid from him. And I'll probably buy a 5 pack of coils next time I'm in there, but it's only a matter of time before more people realize how overpriced he is on most of his stuff and quit buying from him because they feel they're getting ripped (and rightfully so). I do wish him the best of luck, though and I hope he's able to stay in business, however, at the moment he doesn't have any competition locally, and once he does he'll have to make adjustments to become competitive or he will have to close the doors.
