Hello, I'm new here, and completely new to vaping. I purchased a cheap, refillable one yesterday, and its actually quite good :).
I've not really felt a craving for a real cigarette, which is great.

The only strange thing is, my partner, who is a heavier smoker than me, tried it and it makes her choke, but feels fine to me :s.

Any way, hope to learn some things here, such as brands, combinations, oils and so forth. I am currently vaping a 24mg solution, and a few pulls and I feel fine, craving gone.

The model is a EGO-CE4, which I guess is only a cheap brand, but it is working for me, so am happy.

Hope to speak to you all soon, Conan.

Hi and welcome to ECF :)

Sounds like you got the basic eGo style setup - you are on a great start :) Many find satisfaction with that device and are able to quit smoking with it easily. You should get a double on the battery, CE4 and the charger. If you only have one of each and something fails you are kind of screwed. Rule of thumb around here - get backups to backup your backups lol.

As far as your partner - have her read this and try a mouth to lung inhale http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/337017-inhalation-technique-e-cigarette.html. A lot of folks do choke a bit in the beginning and the inhalation technique can certainly help out with that.

Congrats on starting your journey and happy vaping!!

Hi creepylady, I have an extra CE4, which I guess is the piece you put the liquid in? I tried one of the e cigs before that look like normal cigarettes, it was terrible, and did not help me with cravings at all lol, and remember the part burning out, so I got two of them. Will any Ego fit a CE4 style? Or am I confused here lol.

I will definitely show that link to my partner, thank you :).

EDIT: I think mine is a cheap knock off, looked online but it seems the clearomizer/cartomizer not sure on the correct word for the CE4 is the exact same I have, and the batteries also look the same, so hoping I can mix and match for a long time of vaping :).

Hello Conan and welcome!

Well, the CE4 is a top coil clearomizer and because the heating coil is positioned on top the tank, close to your mouth, it can be irritating to sensitive people. I can't really vape top-coil models; they are too harsh. Besides, the CE4 doesn't come with changeable coils, which makes is rather user-unfriendly. May I suggest that you try a Kanger Bottom Coil (BCC) device, like T3S. You partner may tolerate it better. She may also prefer lower wattage (less heat) or a different flavor.

Hope you find something that will make you both happy! Good luck!

Thank you Katya, I hope I grasp the new language soon :).

Hi djsvapour, I also started on the white sticks, mine was rechargeable, but utter dogs turd, and did not stop any craving at all. This is completely different.

How do I know if I have a genuine EGO, or is it just a style/model type?

Thanks again, Conan.

EDIT: also, I looked online, and it said not to allow the clearomizer to go below 0.8 mls, is this true? I always thought you would vapor till it is empty, then refill? For now though, I will keep topping up.

let answer back to front.
1) I would try to refill earlier than sooner. 0.8ml would seem logical. (half way, why not)
2) Everybody makes eGO batteries. They are just a generic type (like a Hoover). The "original" was probably made by Janty or Joyetech or something.
What you need to look for is a reliable brand. Everything comes from China, but companies like Joyetech and Kanger have something of a reputation to keep up. Vision make excellent quality batteries too.
3) Yes, plastic sticks. I complained about mine not doing "40 cigarettes" and the company told me I was using it wrong.
They wanted me to "vape it for half as long per puff"..... silly sods. That would have been even worse cravings.

As my learned colleague djsvapour already told you, there is really no such thing as a genuine eGo anymore--well, there is but you don't want it.

Ego was invented years ago by Janty. It was originally made by Joyetech (a Chinese manufacturer) but has been copied/cloned and improved upon a million times since then. It was a set-voltage regulated (at 3.3v) battery and is pretty much extinct now. Right now when someone mentions an eGo, they just mean an eGo-class battery, really, not a specific manufacturer. I own a eGo-C Twist (made by Joyetech) and a Vision Spinner (they are both eGo-class batteries with variable voltage). They are both good batteries, but there are many others--including Kanger eVod vv and Smoktech Winder. The most technologically advanced eGo-class battery with both vv and vw is the Innokin iTaste VV--smart and good looking.

That's the recommendation, because some of them start gurgling and spitting when the tank is almost empty... But I found that if you take a couple of gentle primer puffs (without activating the battery), they quiet down. :D

Hiya, I'm in the UK too (waves)

There has been lots of new shops/stalls/carts opening up, most of the ones I've seen are selling the basic kit you bought (ego/ce4) and hangsen liquid. After stopping at a few of these for leaflets/info (and the sellers having no real clue what they were selling, eg, had no idea what was in the liquid) I decided to come looking online and found this fab forum.

We have a UK section if you scroll way down the main page, which is good for finding UK online suppliers.

I've been here a while now and finally found a set up that works for me and some really nice liquids. No analogs since friday :)

Thank you all for your replies, very informative for a newbie! I read they are all made in china, so I feel a bit better now :p.
It seems to be working for me, I have had a few normal cigarettes, but I have definitely cut down using the vape.

Also, the reason I gathered it was a ce4 is because on the battery it says EGO-CE4, the replacement I have on hand does hold 1.6ml though. I'm slightly getting confused with things like the CE5 I have seen online, are these better, or just a product code?

Regards, Conan.
