First of all, welcome to our forum.

There's more to a great vaping experience than making "big clouds". Whatever keeps you off of cigarettes is what "works". Plus, its not really "smoke", its water vapor.

Your wattage or temp settings should be set to your own personal preference. Nothing is really set in stone, as individual preferences are subjective and vary from one person to the next. We generally tell beginners to start "low" and gradually work their way up until they find their "sweet spot", where they experience the best flavor and vapor production. Starting too high, power-wise, could burn your coil or wick irrepairably.

As you can learn from this thread, there is no "right" way to vape.
Best temperature setting for most vapor and clouds?

Generally speaking:

Lower Ohm Coils Will:
  • Heat The Coil Faster
  • Produce More Vapor
  • Drain The Battery Faster
  • Use E-Juice Faster
  • Produce A "Warmer" Tasting Vape
Higher Ohm Coils Will:
  • Heat The Coil Slower
  • Produce Less Vapor
  • Provide A “Cooler” Tasting Vape
  • Use Less E-Juice
  • Prolong Battery Life
There's more to the equation than just coil resistance. Pg/Vg ratio's of the e-liquid, wick material used, etc. among other factors determine flavor and vapor production.

So, experiement with coil resistance, wick material, and power settings to discover what works best for you. What juice delivery device are you using?

You do need to learn a bit more about how it works to get the most out of it...
The Ohms don't get "set" - it is a measurement of your COIL. And it's probably somewhere between 0.25 and 3.0. Your Temperature setting only works if you are using a certain KIND of coil, and I think you have to let the device get a reading of your coil to "calibrate".
So the coil is important.

The best Watts and temperature settings will depend on your coil, and your juice. Basically, you can turn it up or turn it down until you find something you like. Too high, and it will taste NASTY right away - too low and you won't get much vapor.

Bad's right - if you got this at a store, you should go back and make them teach you a little more about how it works!!

Hello im new to this i bout a evic-VTC and was wondering what temp, watt and ohm i should set it at to get good smoke from it? My other friends makes big clouds n mine doesnt like his. If anybody could help me with this inwould be grateful as im trying to quit smoking and have 2 kids thanks for yals time have a nice day

We can't advise you there.

For me to advise you I would need to know more information.

1. How do you like to vape.

2. Are you using a tank with premade coils a d what voltage those can handle without burning the cotton wick.

3. The amount of airflow the Atomizer has. Increased airflow will help cool the coil go prevent burning.

4. Are you using an Atomizer like a Kayfun with standard airflow that is exclusively a mouth to lung ,(MTL) device, or are you using a Billow V2 that has BIG airflow that doing a direct to lung (DTL) hits.

On a MTL device I would recommend around 10-25 watts. Something like a Subtank Mini the top range would be 30-35 watts. On a DTL device some people push 75-100+watts.

Assuming that your coils are 0.24 ohm coils, 40 watts are a decent start, although I would set the temp much higher. Using nickel coils in the 0.15 to 0.25 ohm range, I usually set the TC mod anywhere from 35-45 watts and set the temp between 480 and 500 degrees. I do lung hits so I take in a lot more vapor, but don't like the vape too warm, so I have my airflow opened up all the way.

With temp control, wattage really doesn't matter much as once you hit your set temp, the mod will automatically reduce the wattage down to as low as 5 or 9 watts until the coil cools down and then the mod will ramp up the wattage again. If you set the wattage higher, it just means that you will hit the temp limit quicker and the mod will adjust the wattage down. If you set the wattage higher, it will allow the coil to heat up quicker, thereby allowing it to produce vapor quicker.

The stock Nautilus coils are not temp control. However, there are nickel coils available for the Nautilus. They work great for temp control.
