Do you want something that looks like an cigarette?

I'm not concern about the look of the vaporizer, I'm more concerned about finding more bang for my buck along with finding the right liquids that are priced decently and offer good flavor.

As I mentioned in my first post money is always scarce in my household as we are a single income family. So with my quitting of analogs (thus saving some money) I would prefer to find items that work for me while saving me money even though I am saving buy quitting analogs.

Ok then I suggest one of the following 2 scenarios:

Get a kgo 1100, you can get them for about $15 if you shop around. Then get a pack of bottom coil phoenix from gotvapes.com they are $12 for a pack of 5 then get some juice. Vapedudes.com offers many different flavors. I have personally tried a lot of them and they are all good, the have a coupon code "fbfree" that will get you a free 10ml bottle. They also have a code "Vapedudes" that will get you 40% off an order. You can use both on the same order. If you buy their 5 pack kit and use both coupons, you can get 6 bottles for $18. The nice thing about them is if you don't like something you get, they will send you something different to replace it. This would get you started with enough juice to last about a month with a initial outlay of about $45 plus shipping. There are two downsides to this setup. First, you have to order for three different vendors so you have more shipping cost. Second, you only have 1 battery that lasts about 10-12 hours.

Or you can go with my first recommendation of the Volt from smokeless image. Get a standard starter kit ($45) with the longer batteries ($1 more). If you watch my video I talk about why, but basically, they give you 50% for battery life. They are having a 21% off sale for July 4 code is "independence". So you will spend about $38 with shipping. Order your free bottle from Vapedudes, you don't need to buy anything to get it. Then once you get your volt, snap a picture and post in on their "faces of volt" stickie on this forum. You will get your choice of a free battery, pack of cartos or bottle of juice. If you get the juice, you will have enough juice and cartos to go up to a month, depending on how much you vape. Downsides of this scenario are that the batteries are only 340mah, and last about 3-4 hours, so you will have to have 2 and charge them during the day. But you can use one, while the other charges. Upside is that you only have 2 vendors you are buying from and shipping is included in the prices above. It will be cheaper than the kgo. If you want to be able to use prefilled cartos (which I don't recommend because it's expensive) get the volt.

You can also look at the x2 battery from smokeless image instead of a starter kit. Get the 900mah x2, a pack of cartos and the price with coupon will be $26 plus shipping(about $3). Or get 2 of the 650mah x2 batteries with a pack of cartos for $38, then you have 2 large batteries and can charge one while you vape the other. Then do the same scenario as above with the picture.

If size doesn't matter and you don't need a mini, go with the kgo or the x2. The x2 will be cheaper, but you will have to use 808 threaded delivery systems, which is not that big of a deal, the better ones are available in 808 (ie, vision clearomizer and the Phoenix). The SI cartos don't burn as easy as others and mine have all lasted at least a month

Unfortunately I won't be able to take advantage of the 4th of July sale however after going over this thread and checking the websites I think I am going to go with the standard volt kit due to the cost. Yeah it only gets me one battery but at work I have USB ports on the machine I run, at home of course i have my PC and when I'm on the road I can use my Choiix PowerPort which is a portable charging device used for cell phones, netbooks and anything that requires recharging. That alone should get me a couple of full charges.

I will then use the forum and post a pic of myself and the volt product once I am able to buy it and use that to get a second battery seeing as how the juice from vapedudes.com is decently priced. I was able to get a free sample from them yesterday, not sure when it will be shipped out though. I'm also going to go with the bottom coil Phoenix and when I have the extra cash I'll get a top coil to try it out.

As of now I'm not vaping for long periods of time (roughly 3-5 puffs every 90-120 minutes on average at home, more frequent though at work) so for now I don't believe I'll be going through a lot of liquid initially, however I am sure as time goes on I might increase my intake lol.

I need to look into the x2 a bit more though before I ultimately decide on the course of action I am set on. I might just go with the volt and then in a couple of weeks look into an x2 as well depending on whether or not I see a noticeable increase in my vaping habit.

That's a good plan. The one battery will be fine until you get the second one if you are vaping that infrequently. Just get the 78mm battery. Its a $1 more, but you get 50% more battery life. Based on taking 1, 3 second puff every minute, you would get about 4 hours on it.

Vapedudes is pretty good about shipping, usually within 24hours unless they get busy. The longest it has ever taken for one of my ordered to ship from them has been a day. When you place the order with the 40% off, get as much as you afford since it is a one time coupon.

The bottom coil phoenix is a great start. They work awesome, you won't even want the top coil. Just make sure you fill it correctly. When you step up to the x2, get a clearomizer instead. Smokeless image has new ones coming in that don't melt or crack from juice. They are supposed to be in within the next day or so.

Just curious, what kind and strength juice are you vaping? Reason I am asking is because I have a bottle of Vapedudes 24mg classic tobacco that I am going to PIF. They sent it to me by accident and said to give it away if I don't want it. Its too strong for me. If you want it, PM me and I send it to you

Alright I've got a stupid question here. When checking out the Phoenix 1.5mL product there are two versions one saying 2.4-2.6 ohm and the other saying 2.6-2.8 ohm. What's the difference, and does it matter?

One is a lower resistance the the other. There is not much difference, but a little. Theoretically you could have a 2.4-2.6 and a 2.6-2.8 and have them both measure out at 2.6.

THe lower resistance ones will burn slightly hotter, give you a little more vape and a little warmer vape.

Alright I got my stuff and I absolutely love the volt battery. However I am having issues with the Phoenix clearomizers. I believe I have a defective product. I followed the video instructions and tried three different fills and nothing happened. I decided to try a second clearomizer just to see if it would work and it did. I was blown away by it to say the least, however the one that I believe to be defective has me a little disappointed.

Has anyone else had an issue with these before? I'm going to contact gotvapes.com and see what they say, hopefully they can be of help.

What kind of issues

It doesn't create any vapes, it's like the battery doesn't respond to it. I filled it the way it was shown in a couple of videos, I did everything right but it didn't work at all. When I opened a second clearomizer and filled it that one worked fine. I'm assuming that the one that didn't work is possibly machined out of the allowed tolerance.

I'm figuring that this particular one is not making the proper contact with the battery. Being a machinist I know it doesn't take much (couple of thousandths out of tolerance) to cause a product to not work properly.

Which battery are you using it on, the x2 or the standard volt batteries? If you look inside the bottom of the Phoenix, you will see the center post. Raise it up slightly and see if it works. If this is on the x2, try unscrewing just s little bit (maybe a quarter turn)

Alright I have 2 clearomizers that won't work. I have taken them both a part and was able to get one of them working, however the other one is dead. Unfortunately I was reading that they only honor DOA products within 24 hours of receiving them. I was unaware of this and quite honestly I don't agree with the short time frame but nonetheless it's their policy so I'm out one clearomizer.

I have decided to buy a second pack and will ensure that I check them all upon receipt however I highly doubt I will do business with gotvapes.com again because of their policy's short time frame (I mean I'm working 60+ hours a week so time is not something I have a lot of right now in my scenario). But all in all I am at least very pleased with smokelessimage.com and I plan on using them again when I am in need of a battery or charging unit.

I noticed you (mroutlaw) mentioned that smokelessimage was coming out with their own clearomizers, have they been released yet and if so have you tested them? If they put out a solid product then I may switch to them and have the other 5 guys (and any future referrals as I've gotten a lot of interest from several coworkers who want to kick the analogs to the curb) I got going through gotvapes switch as well.

Ufortunately almost all vendors have a DOA on cartomizers/clearomizers/atomizers, this means that if you fill it with juice you have voided the DOA warranty. The reason for this is because people like myself have fried many many many atomizers and cartos on high voltage devices. This is where your ohm rating comes in 1.5 ohm @ 3.7-4.2 volts 1.8-2.0 ohms@4.2-5.5 volts and so on so as not to fry your equipment I have dripped into a 1.5 ohm atomizer and set it 6v and got the scariest hot popping next to my face (lesson learned check which atty you grab). I have began rambling and I'm sorry, what you have to do is check your carts/atty's/clearos and such before you fill them so here is the tool by using this to check your equipment before filling then you do not void your DOA warranty.

Thanks for the info yuttynutt :) I'm going to purchase that tool this coming payday to ensure my clearomizers are not DOA upon receipt. As for now I'll just bear with any that are DOA. I'll be sure to inform the others I have gotten to quit smoking in favor of vaping about the tool so they too will be able to make sure there products are in complete working order.

Enigma, you may want to look at the Vivi Nova tanks. They are $12 - $13, so the initial cost is higher, but they come with 3 heads (the atomizer part), and you can buy more heads for $2 - $2.50 each, so in the longer run they will be as cheap, if not cheaper than, the clearos. And they hold a lot more juice and don't leak a drop. They are bulkier, though.

I have found the consistency from one clearo to the other to be sorely lacking. Each one seems to have a different draw and different wicking properties. It all points to a severe lack of quality control in the manufacturing process. I guess all this stuff comes from China, and it is certainly made to a price point, so I'm not sure why the inconsistent quality should surprise me.

So much information here! I wish I had all this knowledge when I first started vaping. I spent enough money in the first 3 months trying to find a good setup, that I could have owned a Provari and a Mini PLUS supplies. Alas, when I first started, there were nowhere near as many options for PVs/juices/attys/cartos/clearomizers/etc. What amazes me is how fast and how quickly this has all caught on and advanced. Enigma78 -- congrats on your transition toward a smoke free life. I know my body feels better by the day! I feel better now than when I was 20!!
