Hi ECF! I just discovered these forums while I was doing research on PV's. What a fantastic info goldmine! Everyone seems to be so helpful and I hope you can answer a couple questions for me. I have been a PAD smoker of Marlboro Lights for over 25 years. I'm tired of it! I stumbled on the Reddit e-cig sub and it got my hopes up that I can swap to vaping.

Here's where I need advice. I have literally put over 12 hours in this weekend doing research and looking for bargains on various websites. I've watched a dozen YouTube videos and I am still not sure what to buy! I have a limited budget of $100 max including some juice due to being unemployed :(. Would you recommend buying an Ego Twist kit, Evod Kit or a VV mod? I know a starter kit, like an Evod, would be fine with me to start, but I know based on everything I've read (and my personality) that I would want to upgrade in a month or two and I can't afford both. Can you guys recommend a good set up that I won't need to upgrade in a month or two? Also, I'd like to stay with a US supplier. Any input would be appreciated!

First recommendation would be try like a disposable Blu or njoy first to see if it will satisfy... I was able to completely put cigs down from day 1 (for the most part), but they did nothing for one of my buddies. Sometimes it just doesn't satisfy for some people so best to try something cheap first to make sure before you drop a lot of cash. After that twists are a great place to start (you'll definitely want the VV, different juices will taste better at different voltages. Can't speak for the evods specifically, but they are similar to T3's which are what I use and I love them. The evods are supposed to be better that T3's so should be good for ya. As far as a mod vs twists, that's just up to what you are comfortable carrying on a daily basis. If you're cool with a mod in your pocket all day, go for it... Then again you won't be missing out on a whole lot if you go with a twist. At a pack a day, you'll probably want a 900mah or above twist...

Also, if you go with twists, you'll want to buy 2 (1 to use while the other is charging). If you go with a mod you'll probably want at least 2 batts. AltSmoke is a good vendor based in OH... Evods or other clearos, you'll want to buy spare heads right off the batt too incase you blow a coil or something...

Hey Griffon, here's how I moved over from cigs. I started with Eon-Smoke Its the same size, weight, shape as a real cigarette. They have 15 flavors and they are Cartomizers with different strengths and there only $30 to start. I used them from Jan of this year until this month where I got an eGO-C and about a week later I upgraded to a Smok VV 900, KangerTech Pro Tank <-- Awesome Tank and 5 ReDux tanks (I don't recommend them they leak). All I know is I wanted something other then cigarettes and the right e-cig helped me. I didnt want to quit smoking and I still dont. I like the taste of it and the vapor is cleaner and better and its satisfying.

I would go with a Twist/Spinner kit, but that will eat up a good chunk of your budget. http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

Mt Baker Vapor is supposed to have good prices on liquid, but I never tried them, ( I DIY). If you can get sample packs of juice.

Exhale has the Smoktech Winder dirt cheap, but they were out of stock last time I looked. You could also try a passthrough, that way you only need one battey and it will charge while you use it.

Remember the Ego twist or spinner battery will use more juice on a higher voltage than a simple Ego C battery which works fine for me and many ppl who vape..I think this simple ego C 900a battery (2) and 2 Ce5's, a case, a lanyard, AC charger and USB charger is the best starter vkit U can buy for $39 DV eGo-T Starter Kit - 900mah...then buy some liquid/juice (50ml) at Best E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Cig Juice - MT Baker Vapor for $10.99 that will last ya a month..so for $11 for a month of juice and $40 for a starter kit that basically will last ya over 1 year exceot replacing the Ce 5 ($3,49 a month), this is no better or cheaper way to begin and last ya a year..

This kit has everything you need to get started and you don't need to upgrade really ever, if you don't want to. All you need to buy other than this would be some juice. I know this is a little advanced for a noob but it can be used in basic mode until you learn to use all the features. It comes in a couple of different colors. The Twist is also a good choice, but I see this as a step up from the Twist.

The MVP is very comfortable, and has a very long battery life -- 2+ days, and can be used as a passthru (can be used while charging), and comes with a usb power cord, 2 iclear16 (tight, warm draw like a cigarette), and a beauty ring). It's variable voltage, so you can adjust for taste.

Clouds of Vapor has then on sale, but I think it's $4 for shipping.

Ivape has them for $55 using the coupon code. Throw on a back-up ego battery and some juice, and you'll get free shipping (order over $65). best bang for your $100.

The MVP was highly recommended to me the other day by several people. The only reason I haven't pulled the trigger is because its a box and I'm not sure how comfortable it would be. Plus I hear the new version is coming out soon?
I've seen an MVP in a shop, but not used or owned one. It feels very high quality in the hand. However, if that's what you want to go with, I suggest waiting a bit. They are coming out with a new one that is Variable Voltage AND Variable Wattage, and has an ohm checker. Once it comes out its supposed to be priced close to the current model, and the current model will go down in price I'm sure. They have a 2600mah batt from what I understand and you can charge and use it at the same time. 2600mah is HUGE batt life. They seem a bit smaller than a cig pack, so they are very palm and pocket friendly... I own a Vamo. In 18350 mode it's not much bigger than an ego. They are much smaller than they seem in the pics. Mine works well, but I'm noticing some things that make it feel a bit cheaper than the MVP feels (1 button sticks out further than the other and isn't as clicky). Consider this too, the MVP kit has everything you need (except juice) to get started (although as someone else pointed out you might still want an ego as a back up for when you're charging) for about $75. The Vamo is about $50, but you'll need a charger and batts too.

Actually the MVP or the Vamo would be a good choice, many of us recommend the Ego style because they are a little simpler and aren't as big and intimidating as things like the Vamo. We recommend the Spinner/Twist/Winders because they are VV. You just may be more advanced than many who are new. One thing to remember, like the others stated, backups, extra batteries, extra device, extra delivery systems. You never know when something might fail, don't want to get caught with nothing to vape.

Zactly... It's all about what you will be comfortable with. Many "noobs" can't imagine going from a little cigarette all the way to a big honkin 18650 mod, so the twist is a nice first step. But if you are cool with the idea of a vamo or mvp, you will be starting off where many of us ended up after numerous baby steps in betweenn...

I love my Joyetech 1000mah pass-thru I only need one battery since I can continue vaping while charging! I do have the wall and car chargers for it. The most expensive part is the atomizer heads BUT through ECF I just discovered Fasttech and the heads are much cheaper and they can be cleaned and reused although thus far I haven't done it successfully. E-juices one MT. Baker Vapors are fairly cheap! All and all much cheaper than my PAD habit!!
