Been reading the post here for over 2 weeks now and wanted to say thanks for all the great info that I picked up here.

I'm 54, been smoking for 39 years and even though I have always been able to keep it to under a pack a day it's got to the point were I have to give up the tobacco.
I did quit in 2006 for 4 moths, had a trip planed to go to Yellowstone NP for the first time and that gave me the drive to go that long. Once I got headed home I kind of fell off the wagon, wish I had some E cigs back them.

Anyway to my incentive this time.

Incentive 1 and the one that really matters to me.
My 2 best friends in the world just had their first child and Steph really does not want anyone around her child that smokes. She does not want the baby smelling tobacco and I really can not blame her.
Daniel told me that as long as I do not smoke before I come over I would be fine.
I do not smoke in my house or car or any inclosed space so I do not smell like cigs as much as most people.
They have helped me so much and we are really close that I really had to stop somehow.

Incentive 2.
I have Chron's and my Doc is about to beat my *** if I do not stop.
Just encase some of you want to know what Chron's is here is a link.
Crohn's disease - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
My doc just started me on Humira and that is a is a TNF blocker medicine that can lower the ability of your immune system to fight infections.
I had to get checked for a lot of things before they would put me on it and tuberculosis is one of the things that can be a problem
The Humira is working and no bad side effects so far.

Anyway I thought that I would try e cigs and got a lot of good info here.
I got a Joytech eGo c setup and so far it's working really good.

Daniel and Steph are really happy for me and when I got over to their house Friday the first thing Steph did was to put Chloe in my arms LOL baby's are so small and cute..

Going on day 4 and only had 1 analog today, tasted like crap and made me cough like crazy.. YEAH me. :2cool:

Hello Z_Ghost and welcome to ECF. I know it took a lot of guts to share that story nd I'm so glad you did. Day 4 is fantastic! You have some great reasons to quit and I really like how you put yourself first. You are the most important reason to quit!!! I'm so sorry to hear about your illness and hope that your meds will help. Stick around here because not only do we have the best information on e-cigs around but we also have some of the most wonderful people you will ever meet. You are in for quite a ride, so fasten your seatbelt and have some fun!! :) Good luck to you!! :)

Welcome to ECF and congrats on making the change ;) I started on Joye Egos and vaped only on them for my first year and a couple of months before I branched out. I'm older than you and I smoked longer than you and probably more per week than you and I am off tobacco cigs for good. vaping works. Your body will thank you down the road ;)

Best thing you can do is have backups for everything and a variety of juices in quantity enough to tide you over if you hit a bad spell of luck with batteries, juice or money. Living on a fixed income, I have to prioritize my money every month. When I made my first order in 2011, I put devices and juice at the top of my list, even before utilities and groceries, just to make sure until I got in the habit of allowing for the new expense of them that I would have the money for them. Not buying 2 cartons of tobacco cigarettes a week paid for my gear and juice and I started saving money fast.

Fantastic! I've been tobacco free for almost a month with my eGo and we're doing just fine. It's easy to get caught up in the toys (just typing that makes me want more ;)) but I love, love, love vaping (!) much more than cigarettes, which I think has helped me stay off of them. I quit smoking after 40 freaking years! Who cares if I buy a pony's worth of toys?

Thanks Fiamma.
I have been looking at what I will upgrade to and now (even after 4 days) that I know this will work I figure that having backups will be a really good thing to have.

I like toys and from what I have seen on here they have a lot of cool toys, will probably be doing a upgrade soon. :vapor:

Ghost. I know the pain your going through. My Doctor told me if I don't stop smoking I'll be carring an o2 bottle with me, within 5 years. My own sister won't come to visit cause of the smoke. I don't have any family except my sister and her family. No one will visit my house so I'm gonna try vaping. I got to do something. I have a woman I love more than life and I know I'm killing her with the second hand smoke. Good luck and I hope things go well. I just ordered my KGO today and can't wait till it shows up.

Welcome and love the picture Z-Ghost, and what a beautiful motivator! I'm a newbie too and wish so much there had been all the options 8 years ago when my precious little granddaughter was born!

She is a cutie pie that's for sure and I have that pic as my desktop to help me when I get the urge to have a cig and the vapor is not fixing it.

Hope your doing good with quitting analogs.
