Hey guys,

I just got my e-cigarette today. I don't know why I didn't try to find a forum BEFORE I bought the cigarette.. But okay. Whatever, I am happy with my purchase for the most part.

I ended up order from blucigs. I am 100% satisfied in more ways than one.

First of all, I am (Or was!) a pack a day smoker. My biggest apprehension about the e-cigarette, was that I was worried what the "hit" would be like. You know that tickle/burning in your lungs? Yeah that. I like that. And I was afraid that I wouldn't get that with an e-cigarette. But you know what.. I have a 1 year old son, and I was just ready to quit.

When I took my first drag of my blu, I coughed. That's right... I COUGHED. Then I smiled and laughed and I was estatic. This thing is PERFECT. As of right now, I have had... 2 real cigarettes since 3pm. It's 9. I've had two cigarettes in 6 hours, in the first day of getting this thing.

Okay, this is amazing.

So here is the one thing I am, or was upset about.

I was reading various posts on the forums and started noticing a lot of talk about "juice". And I'm like 'wtf is juice??' before ordering my blu, I thought I did a lot of research.. I guess I was wrong. Because I never came across an e-cig that had liquid refillable cartridges instead of the disposable ones. I was sort of shagrined, because I really like the idea. And the juices seem to come in a variety of interesting flavors that I really must try.

But it was hard enough trying to convince my husband that ONE e-cig was worth the price, let alone two. (He hates spending money.) so I sat down and I did.......... CARTRIDGE SURGERY!!!!

That's right. I ordered roughly 100 cartridges total of the flavors that blu offers, (Menthol, Java, Cherry, Classic Tobacco and Vanilla).

So I sat down with a cartridge of vanilla and one of java. I took a sewing needle and I poked it through the hole in the cartridge and out popped the liquid capsuls. (By the way, the capsule for Vanilla is WAY larger than that of Java... If anyone can explain that I'd love to hear it.)

So I thought, "Vanilla Coffee.. Yeah!" I carefully removed the foil from the top of each of these little capsules. And inside each is a bit of fiber which I assume is for soaking up the liquid and keeping it close to the atomizer.

After I carefully pulled the fiber out of each of the capsules, I was left with a tiny amount of liquid. I know now that this must be the "juice" everyone is referring to. I was really excited at this point that my surgery was going so well.

I didn't have an empty dropper bottle (I'll probably get a couple now) or anything, so I just carefully poured the liquid back and forth until it was thoroughly mixed and I had two cartridges of Java-Vanilla. I then stuffed the fiber back in, and then stuffed the capsule back into the cartridge.

Took a puff - Awesome!

So... Why'd I typed all that out.......... hrm..

Oh yes! My question!

Given that I was able to do this, do you think I would be able to by the liquid from one of these sites that are mentioned and perform similar surgery? I mean would that work? Does anyone else have a blucig that has tried that?

Lemme know!

- Sal

The juice provided by other suppliers generally comes in plastic dropper bottles. In the end, it will probably be more cost effective to purchase these than Blucig Carts.

There are several cart filler (the fibers you found holding the liquid in your carts) replacement ideas floating around, so be sure to check out the the cart mod forum for ideas.

Keep the little white capsules for refilling. It should all work out pretty well, just takes some trial and error.

Welcome and Happy Vaping!!

First of all - Welcome Aboard!

I have zero experience or any knowledge about the blu, but from reading your post I can see that you are a very fast learner and perhaps a very capable modder too - someone who can and will refill your own carts with e-juices you make yourself.

More importantly - Congrats on your new journey to get away from those nasty analogs (cigarettes) as you are already off to a great start. With a bit more willpower and some more "training of your brain" to accept your new hobby you will quit smoking in no time (maybe even tomorrow)!

good luck with your Blu.
I bought them first and it was a HUGE mistake.
I got 5 attys with them and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them stopped working within 3 days of using one. AND my pcc stoped working within a week.
My attys would only give me one good drag off of it every 5 minutes or so...and they tried telling me that its the way its supposed to work because too much nicotine will make you sick. I told them that they where working fine before, then they changed their story. "we'll send you a new atty."
bad customer service too. they're stupid.

good luck with those.
If you end up getting a new e-cig, I would highly suggest going with a Joye 510.

Sallana, try this part of the forum to learn how to get the most out of your Blu.

Blu Electronic Cigarettes - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

Lots of threads with others asking questions, tips and general info. on their Blu.

You can refill with any e-liquid you find you'll like. Many suppliers on ECF sell liquid. For lots for less, try http://www.mist-stix.com/category_s/64.htm Only $9 for 30ml, (use discount code ECF). Also really great liquid and terrific value is Tasty Vapor (wonderful flavors).

Might as well use it as long as you can. When you are ready for your next model, just let us know and we'll all give you opinions, lol.

Welcome Sallana! First things first: don't tell your hubby how much your spending on ecig stuff - tell him what your savings are compared to buying analogs (regular ciggys.)

As far as the blucig - you can absolutely refill those carts! And with any eliquid flavor you can find! They (almost) all taste heavenly and are several times cheaper than buying regular tobacco. If you've already ordered 100 or so carts, stop! You don't need to anymore - just refill them with the eliquid or "juice" of your choice.

An eliquid recommendation?
I have had nothing but excellence in price, quantity, speed of shipping, and flavor from tastyvapor.us

Again, welcome to the wonderful world of vaping. Enjoy!

Welcome. Blu was the first e-cig I tried as well this last summer. It is decent, and they do work, but omg it is a hit or miss on atty's and batteries for the thing. I still have my old blue for a back up. You can refill the carts with e-juice. Just take a toothpick and stick it into the cart where the fiber is and then use the dropper that comes with the e-juice and let the juice run down the toothpick onto the fiber. Do about 4 to 5 drops and you are good to go. Remove toothpick and place the catridge back on the atty and you are good to go. :)

If I were you though and vapor and throat hit is important...go with a 510. They are awesome. I have had mine going on 5 months and it was the best purchase I made for e-cigs. I tried different ones and the 510 with manual is the best I have ever found. Love mine.
