Just picked up my first e-cig at a kiosk in a mall. I believe I got hosed in the price and what I was actually getting myself in to. But at last here I am trying to give up real cigs.

Not sure if anyone has heard of the company I got my starter kit from, but it is called SmoKe King. After looking at prices of other e-cig set ups I def feel I did not do my home work.

Anyway, not sure if anyone can answer this but if you have heard of the company and know what style
Cartomizer they use that would be great so I can get some blanks and refill with what I like at a cheaper rate.

Here is the link to the place I found in the mall. Any ideas's would be great since I spent so much money already on this set up.

DO NOT buy FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL!!!!!

"http://www.smokekingcigs.com//products.php?71"]SmoKeKing 2 PRO Kit - SmoKeKinG Electronic Cigarettes

I did order some juice from AltCig out of Las Vegas hope that was a good choice. I smoke Parliament Lights and have yet to find a flavor close to that. The tobacco flavor the e cig kit I got is just awful. Hope I will like some of the flavors I picked up from Alt Cig.

In close just wanted to say hi and post a few questions if anyone has the answers to them. Or if I should just save up and get a different kit. Thanks for your time and look forward to spending more time learning about this alternative way of smoking that is not so harmful to me and others around me.

Yeah, you got hosed allright. Very thoroughly hosed. Fortunately, it looks to me like a 510 connection. It's hard to say just by the picture, but it looks like a 510. It would be worth picking up a box, or even a single, 510 cartomizer and see if it fits. I wouldn't spend another dime with those pirates. You could have gotten one of the best PV's on earth for that kind of money.

Get some 510 cartos. 2ohm Boge should do. 1.7ohm would be better, but I'm not sure if the battery capacity can handle it. If the 510 Boges don't fit, save them to use for the e-cig you'll be saving up for.

And you may as well forget finding a juice that tastes like what you used to smoke. That's an enduring myth that e-cig marketers made up to sell e-cigs. The best you can ever hope for is something that tastes like what your brand smelled like when you opened the pack. Fortunately, it doesn't take long until you forget all about that and start using juice that doesn't taste anything like you old cigarette and probably not even like tobacco. There are too many good flavors out there to stick with tobacco flavors.

So, Welcome. Sorry you had to learn an expensive lesson, but at least you're headed in the right direction and it won't seem like so much in a few months or a year from now. So, in the long run, it'll be worth it. Just try not to feed those thieves again if you can help it.

Over the edge...
Welcome to ECF, Jay. Sure wish you had posted before you got that kit. It's crazy expensive for just a couple of batteries and a couple cartomizers and a charger... sure would be nice if you could get your money back. Lots of much better deals out there. Maybe it's a 510 threaded device. If so, you can get cartos for it and hopefully the juices from AltCig will work for you. Good luck and keep asking questions.

Edit: sailorman beat me to it and said it all.

WOW! I looked at the site you linked to and if that's the price you paid for it, then yes, you got hosed, even worse than I did initially with my Greensmoke...... Sailorman is probably right, it kinda looks like a 510. I'd just get some empty cartos, small pack, just to try and see if they'll fit. This sellers refill cartos are very expensive, too, so I'd do whatever I can to stay away from them. $30 for a 5-pack of prefilled cartos? No, thanks, I'd take my chances buying a cheap 5 buck pack of empty cartos and try my luck with them...... And please, DON'T get refill eliquid there, either. $40 for 10 mls????? WOW! You can get 10 ml for less than $10 elsewhere with more flavors.... :)

$189.95. Good holy God.

At a glance, what you appear to have there is an RN4081 (I could be wrong), a kit of which is worth perhaps $35. If so, count yourself among legions in here that were victimized in an obscene manner by mall kiosks.

Don't kick yourself. We've all been there. Information, as they say, is power.

Holy crapoli, what a rip off!:blink: Please don't ever visit that site again.
That said - almost every regular on here started with crappy/expensive/rip-off e-cigs so don't feel bad, you're not alone.

As a comparison - for 1/4 of the cost, you can get a GREAT PV, including two batteries that will last about a day each plus great cartos AND juice:
Elite Vaporworks KGO Starter Kit with Boge LR Cartomizers - KGO

JaMaBBo, I think a lot of us did exactly what you did. I found ECF 2 days after I spent $125 on about $35 worth of equipment. But guess what? There is a little post it note hanging right here next to my monitor and it says "last cigarette 1-20-12". So I see it as a small price to pay. We've all been overcharged for different things here or there. But not many times do you end up with a value like you will from this overpriced deal. Good luck, welcome to the greatest forum on the net, and feel free to ask away. BTW, I order from AltCig quite often and they have good juice and they are great folks.

Politically, Take a look at the carto page. I'm not too familiar with the RN4081, but they look an awful lot like 510s.

I'm looking at the cartos, and a RN4081 carto I've got laying around from the bad old days. The connectors are a spot-on-match—at least to the extent I can tell from the grainy blow-up view.

Wow! How do those people sleep at night?

Stick with the advice you are getting and at least you will be on your way to getting off the cigarettes. (Sailorman is IMHO the king here regarding advice and helping out us new vapers- he will steer you in the right direction- Is that why you call yourself Sailorman? lol j/k)

Hi Sailorman. FYi The rn4081 thread is .05 thread pitch different than the 510. My first device was a 4081 , for like a month I bought those carts that fit the 4081. The 510 almost fit but they dont actually screw in more than one turn. I bought a 510 atty and carts to replace the ones for my 4081 and figured it out from there. I didnt even know it was a 4081 until much later. I then purchased a 510 and so on and so on.

JaMaBBo, With that said after looking at the link I would agree with sailorman that it seems as though you have a 510 connector, but only because they clearly have eGo as a battery option and only seem to offer a few different cartos. That clues me to the fact you most likely have a 510 threaded ecig. Please do yourself the favor of looking through the forum suppliers page and go from there. At least you have a start. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Does anyone know if they make 4081/510 adapters? At least he'll be able to use that thing with decent cartos if it turns out that they're 4018s. I don't know where to even buy blank 4081 cartos, but that would be another option if it's possible.

An adapter would be a backup though. I still think they're 510s. The batteries look like they could be rebranded Joyes.

I looked at their "Satisfaction Guarantee". "30 day Exchange only. No Refunds." So it appears they're willing to screw you until you're satisfied.

Yeah, wow they kind of hosed you bad. I think it is a right of passage here to buy something bad first. But that just shows to yourself how committed you are to quitting and willing to do. Don't be discouraged and if they do not have a return policy then use them as you can and you may get 5 different answers to one question here they are usually 5 good answers opposed to the 10 other wrong ways to go
