I use the Avatar/handle Falconeer as, since 1974, I smoked Falcon Pipes, loved them, wrote about them and served as a Mod on Pipe Smoking Forums under that name.
I have been lurking here for some time, have learned a lot already and have been impressed with the forum’s dynamics. I did not however wish to join until I knew I was committed to vaping rather than smoking.
Today however marks six complete weeks since I last lit up a pipe with tobacco in it. To say I amazed is what you would term an understatement, for at the last go at not smoking some years ago, six weeks marked the date when the attempt hit the buffers and was abandoned. That six weeks was a miserable time - despite Nicotine Replacement therapy backed up with industrial doses of nicotine chewing gum - every waking moment I could think of nothing else other than that I desperately wanted a smoke.
This time round I didn’t even intend to stop - merely to use the e-pipe my son in law gave me until it was emptied and could be stuck in a drawer and forgotten about - but truthfully vaping has made the thing a total dawdle and never once has the Dreaded Craving For A Smoke Dragon emerged from its lair.
Like most people who set off down Steam Alley, at the start I preferred something that resembled my analogue weapon of choice, namely a pipe, but time experience and research has shown a Box Mod ( as I thin we call it) in the form of an istick 30w and a Nautilus Mini Tank to be a better way to go with the options of variable voltage and long battery life.
All I can say is if you want to quit tobacco for whatever reasons you have, give vaping a go - but do do your research and buy some good kit to start with, it will does pay.
