1st post to the forum 2nd week of vaping regularly. I picked up my first reusable e cigarette 2 weeks ago hoping this would help crush my pack and a half a day habit. So far I am down to about half to 3/4s of a pack per day because it doesn't quite kill the craving just keeps it at bay. I feel like I'm missing something with this I think its a g-pen potentially. So I'm looking into buying my first mod and eventually would like to get into rebuilding as a hobby any recommendations for a first set up would be greatly appreciated

Hello and Welcome Justme93! I have to agree with Wheelie about the MVP2. It's a nice mod with all the settings you could want to start out on. If you're looking to get into rebuilding you'd have to stay in the 1.2 and up ohm region for it to work on the MVP2. It is a box mod but it has great battery longevity and a nice chip set. It is reasonably priced $40+. It has the 510/eGo adapter so it works with most anything you can put on it. There will be others who will come along and recommend some other devices and with good reasons of their own. Good luck on your journey!

Ps. It might be a good idea to play around with a regulated mod, like the MVP2 or something like it, before going on to a mech so you can get an idea of how things work. Ya gotta start somewhere. ECF is a great place to start so you're well on your way!

Welcome aboard.
I can't argue with the MVP2 suggestions. Myself I like the ability replace the battery rather than rely on being able to tether to a wall wort and USB port.
I am sold on the Vamo Own v2, v3, v5 in stainless steel, and my current fav is the aluminum v2. Tied up with a Panasonic NCR18650PF and a Protank/Puritank and 2.5 ohm heads, we be good to go for 16hrs or so of vapin'.
Just got my first Kayfun this past week. it really looks and vapes great on my Al V2.
Best of luck to you Bud.

Thank you everyone so far. How do you feel about vamos to start with my local shop has a few in stock but the guy behind the counter isn't very friendly. I guess I'm looking for that next step up from what I have but would like to get the best equipment for my money and experience level of having never messed with a variable device other than hitting one.

I'm with the others on the MVP 2 as my first ecig was the MVP 1, and it was love from the first day. It's no bigger that a pack of 100's and the battery life can't be beat. That was very important to me as I was a 2+ pack a day smoker. It's very easy to use and you can use a multiple of different tanks on top. Can get them a 101vape for I belive around $40, a really good price.

I smoked for 53 yrs. and this vaping stuff had me quitting before I knew it! Be prepared for a fun ride and learning experience. Just have a little patience and read as much as you can here on ECF. Congratulations on a new beginning. :)

Yep, the MVP as others said.
You'll probably think you want tobacco flavors at first, but do what tastes and feels right for YOU.

If the throat hit isn't there initially tighten the draw (reduce airflow) a little.

It's partly habitual when you first switch, but it will get easier and soon you'll not want a cigarette.

Welcome to ECF and the wild ride of vaping ;)

Yayyy! Welcome! I agree on the MVP, I did not care for the innokin tank that came with the kit or the cost of replacement coils. IMO grab a protank II or better... really anything with a Pyrex tank until you get your flavors worked out. There's nearly always someone on ecf to talk you off the ledge.

Welcome to ECF!

Rather than throw a suggestion at you, I'm just going to give a few things to consider about some of the suggestions here.

The MVP V2 seems to be the most highly suggested. A lot of people here on ECF swear by them so it can't possibly be a bad product. THAT BEING SAID... I do not own one. I own several vv/vw mods, but there's two things about them that I should bring up vs the MVP.

First off, none of my mods are box mods. Comfort in the hand is more important than you may realize, so I can't personally vouch for how a box mod feels to use. I'd suggest watching a few reviews, such as from PBusardo on YouTube, I believe he's reviewed the MVP and the VTR. Watch how it's held during use and ask yourself whether or not you'd like it. Just my two cents there.

Second, what keeps me (personal opinions and preferences here, people, don't be offended) from even trying an MVP is that you have to plug it in to charge. What are you to do while it's charging?

All if my mods use 18650 batteries and I have a LOT of them. So when the battery gets low, I simply slap it on the charger and put a fresh battery in my mod so I don't go a minute without being able to vape.

Someone recommended the VAMO. Don't be too quick to discard this device. Decent quality, made sturdy, offers vv/vw, and (actually can use 18350s) as well as 18650s. At least my VAMO 2 offers that. I use it as a backup so I haven't looked into the newer models. But it's a quality product that runs roughly $50-$60.

Those are just my thoughts. If the MVP looks comfortable and you don't mind it having to charge a few hours then definitely give it a shot. If you'd prefer something you're fairly certain is comfortable and that you can swap out batteries in, then you might want to look into vv/vw mods in your price range that follow that criteria.
