well here I am, I am new here obviously and my name is also just as obvious. Anyways i bought a kgo kit for a starter KGO (Riva) 1100mAh Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit - $54.95 and some different juices to try, so far i have only tried the coffee i got from NW because i was told the others i should let sit a week, anyways it came with filter thingies and i have been putting a couple drops into the meshy stuff and it seems to vape for only a few puffs. is this normal? I would really not have to fill it up every other time i decide to vape, is there something else i should get or am i filling it wrong? am i putting it on the atty wrong? anyways

Hi Dan and Welcome to ECF The KGO is an excellent battery, I think. From your link it looks like you have a 3 piece e-cig- battery+ atomizer(heating coil) + cartridge(juice holder) - is that what you have?

Did you get any cartomizers with your kit? A cartomizer is used instead of the atomizer+cartridge - cartomizers seem to work better+hold more juice+less work. I say seem to because that is what I gather from reading ECF and I have only used cartOmizers. I am pretty new myself. I hope someone who is familiar with cartridges+atomizers will answer you in detail. Are you familiar with the difference between cartridge+atomizer and cartOmizers? What I have found to work well for me so far are the cartOmizers made by Boge company.

yes i read on the difference, i was thinking about getting this: 510 Ultimate CE2 Clearomizer XL but I am unsure if it will work properly with my 1100 kgo setup and if so what ohm should i get? and is this really what i am looking for????

Hey there!

Cartridges are a pain to use -- I'd suggest you get some Boge 510 LR 2 ohm cartomizers. Clearomizers are fine, too, you might well want to get a 5-pack of each so you can decide which you prefer. My experience is that clearos have great flavor, but Boges get 90% of that flavor while producing much more vapor.

The KGO will serve you really well, I love mine. You'll get a good idea of the strength of the hit on the KGO for now, and when cartomizers come you won't have to refill so often.

Oh, and I think you're fine to try your other juices -- they'll get better over time, but they should be fine now. If any of them have a perfumey or chemical taste, then they definitely need to steep.

2 ohms is a pretty safe bet for a good vape. 2.5 and 3 ohm would work almost as well. Like Sweeny said, get some Boge 510 (510 is the threading on your battery) Low Resistance (LR) cartOmizers. They usually come in a pack of 5 and the cheapest place I have found is discountvapers.com but it looks like he sold out. I just ordered some 3 days ago- looks like word is getting around about his low price . There are a lot of great vendors though - check out some of the ECF vendors listed here as well as discount codes coupon-code-master-list. There is also a thread where members list special deals/ discounts/sales etc called Deal and Steals. Anyways, I can;t comment on that CE2 because I never had one. I did find an eGo Vision cartOmizer which I have been using for 2 days now and I really am liking it - here . It is called a couple of different names and is carried by 3 vendors that I know of, but they are all sold out last I checked. I would recommend using the Boge LR cartos and try to get one -or more- of the eGo Vision cartOs when they get in stock.

Welcome to ECF Dan. The KGo is a fine PV. The carts that came with it should hold about .5 ml of liquid (10-15 drops). When you fill them, drip into the polyfill until it looks wet but not like a puddle. I highly recommend that you get some cartomizers. They hold more liquid and generally give a better experience than the cart/atomizer combo. Boge 2.0 ohm, Smoktech 1.7 ohm are both good choices. Dual coil cartos will work too, but I think the single coils are better on a 3.7V device. With cartomizers it is important that they not be allowed to dry and the first fill is extremely important. The are several videos on youtube that show how to fill cartos and I recommend you watch them.

The CE2's are a whole different ball game. They don't have any polyfill and they give better flavor because of it. The coil is at the top of the carto, so the vapor is warmer than other cartos. They are easy to fill with a syringe, can be cleaned several times and will last for a few weeks. On the down side, they sometimes have problem wicking resulting in dry hits. Most people that use them will mod them to improve wicking. The easiest way to mod them is to remove all the seals from the top (there are three of them) and only use the middle seal with the groove side down.

And when you get cartos make sure you get a drip tip as well. While not necessary, it will make the experience better and filling easier.

That is a good price Yes, those will work fine on your battery. The LR cartOs are not recommended on the little batteries that are about the size of a regular cigarette because the LR cartos draw too much power from the battery. Your battery is a bigger one and can handle the 2.0 ohm LR cartOs. I think you can get cartOs lower than 2.0 ohms but I don't know if the KGO can handle those or not.

Driptips Another thing to consider picking up sometime is a 510-to-510 adapter (actually it's just a short extension for your battery). I just got one today and it makes a nice difference in the vape. I think it allows the e-cig to 'breathe' a little better and to me it is one of the best $4 I have spent. Not a necessity but try it if you can sometime. adapter-510-to-510 Cheers

Hi Dandafixr, and welcome to vaping, hope you enjoy it! I too have issues w/ my better half when it comes to the money I spend on vaping but I always tell her that if I had to smoke I would spend $300/month anyways so, even if the upfront cost may be higher than the monthly cost of analogs, the next month (or the one that comes after), or once you find the best PV and the juice you like, the cost will drop and everything will get amortized. So far I spent like $2500 in 3 1/2 months but out of that $900 is already justified and I'm on my way to $1200. With the juice I have in stock I figure that by the end of June everything will be amortized, justified and forgotten, because in the end is a matter of cost over time. As a smoker you spend that money anyways. In the end the idea is to replace analogues with vaping and not increase the monthly cost. It will be steep in the beginning because of the learning curve and the quest for the best PV but then is just a matter of consumables.

oh and another thing, the cartrages that came with my kit dont seem to be able to take more than 3 drops before its flooded, and i vape it till i get no smoke and when i fill it its the same 3 drops, i can not fit 15 drops in it to save my life

Are you getting any flavor? Any vapor at all? If you're getting flavor but little or no vapor yo have flooded the atty. Blow it our from the battery end and try again.
