Hello All.
just joined the ECF. Will probably head over to the "Older Folks Porch" when my initiation period is over. I am a long term smoker, around 50 years!
I have trouble with nicotine replacement products, tried a Vype sold in the UK. Thought I was going to choke to death. Had the same reaction to cigarette alternative spray. I want to get a new e-cig and non nicotine juice to try but not sure where to start in respect of equipment, charging methods, tanks/ refills, I want it to be simple, no fuss and will not be DIYing. Not keen on tobacco flavour either. Anyone tried menthol non nicotine?

Hi and welcome to ECF! I was a menthol smoker and have had no luck liking anything menthol thus far. So maybe someone else can point you in the right direction for that. Equipment wise I have a vision spinner 2 with a aspire mini nova-s that I'm pretty happy with. I'm currently using an e-leaf istick with aspire nautilus mini..This is a good set up as well.. Really depends on your preference. Only coil changing required, nothing crazy.

This is a great starter kit. I buy these for people I help switch to vaping:

https://www.misthub.com/product/kanger-emow-starter-kit/

It's on sale & Mist Hub has a standing ECF coupon: ECF15 (15% off.) if they don't ship to UK, you should be able to find this kit in UK. It's simple to use & comes with everything, even a pack of 5 coils, for a total of 6. I always order a second tank with it & it takes me just a few minutes to explain how to use it. Also comes with instruction manual.

Aspire has a new starter kit also, it's bulkier, but the tank is one of the best on the market, called the Nautilus mini.

Good luck and welcome :) !!

Hey, how'd you get my wife's name?

Welcome, and we'll be looking for you over there!

Yes, something like what Barbchris posted is a good starter for gear. I do recommend something at least VV - Variable Voltage. That way you can adjust the power to the coil and be able to change things up to suit your tastes without having to replace the coil. The Kanger T3S is also a good topper, holds a bit more juice, and coils are inexpensive. (The T3D is similar but with a dual coil. I do rebuild all mine, so stick with the T3S, as the duals are a real bear to rebuild... but if you're not heading that way, might be a nicer vape.)

Never was a menthol smoker, so nothing to recommend there. But maybe consider some of the minty flavors?

With your smoking history, I'm not convinced zero nic is the way to go. While you'll still have a similar process to satisfy that part of it, nic is really part of your life...

Sometimes its a matter of how you vape. Most have the best luck drawing a mouthful of vapor and then inhaling, rather than drawing straight to the lungs. So if you were doing the latter, maybe try the former?

Of course, too high a nic can be problematic as well, as the nic is part of the TH - Throat Hit. But too low and you may not be able to succeed in the transition.
