I've been using ego ecigs since the summer, but recently started looking in to it more and wanted to try making coils for my evod style tank. I got some kanthal wire and 3mm voodoo wool (gona try it out without flavour wicks, hence the thickness) then after following a youtube video I managed to ruin my battery. I thought it was a short at first, but on inspection, I was using .32mm rather than 32AWG(.2mm) wire... battery killer! (previously using a 650mAh Liberty Flights Ego). Anyway, I've rectified my mistake and I'm expecting delivery of an Aspire CF VV+ (1000mAh) tomorrow (bought it mainly because of the short/overcharge/discharge battery protection to avoid previous mistakes) and I'm looking forward to learning more.
And yes... i need an ohm tester... but I'm gona play it safe around the 2ohm level to start with this battery (using the ohm/coil calculator on stealth vape) and then maybe progress to lower levels around 1.6 (maybe further eventually, but I'd need a battery with more umph!). Also got some MUJI organic cotton to try moving away from silica.
Thought it would be best if I join to ask you wonderful people any questions. (ended up here on many google searches anyway)
