Hello, hope everyone is doing well. I am new here, glad I found this forum. I have smoked 47 years, it's really catching up with me. I am short of breathe and losing energy. I am in pain galore and health is not good. I have blamed everything but the true culprit, cigarettes (age counts but I can handle that ). I bought a reputable vape, vaporesso gtx one pro, bought reputable eliquids. Checked and verified them all. I am scared to take my first vape puff. I feel like I will get sick, pneumonia, short of breathe and more. I am truly scared ....less. I am scared my lungs are so used to cigarette smoke that vape smoke will shock my lungs. I tried to quit smoking once and my heart literally went into arrhythmia, went to see cardiologist and confirmed. I feel like vape smoke is wet and cigarette smoke is dry. More information. I chain smoke, I smoke full flavor. The cigarettes are some of the reasons I have health issues. I am a Psychologist MD and Holistic doctor, female. Please, no jokes about my being a professional. Sometimes, outside help is the best, it's what I need at the moment.

Well yeah, we all worry to an extent. Vaping causes less harm, not no harm.

I don't know how you plan to vape. Some people take a couple puffs and can put it down for hours, some people take a puff every few minutes.
Puff for puff, a full flavor smoke has about the same nicotine as 6mg juice. If you vape like you are smoking, this is a good place to start.

I use nicotine /cigarette flavor ONLY, bought all strengths in hopes of tapering and quitting.
Has anyone else that is a long term chain smoker, ever had my "fears"?
There are many of us long term ex-smokers that have changed their lives and improved their health by discovering vaping. For a lot of us it was such an easy and pleasant transition compared to other failed alternatives attempted in the past.

I would suggest focusing on the transition and worry about the tapering and quitting later if and when you feel it is necessary. Some of us are never quitters when it comes to vaping.

For me, the health improvements in my life happened amazingly quickly as I detoxed from the several decades of smoking. 17 years of success for me, and it never would have happened without discovering vaping.

I wish you the best of luck and success. Be proud of yourself for giving it a try.
