Ok...after 2 hours of use (6hrs of charging ) my battery died on the way to Sacramento....Started using it at 230pm...dead at 435pm.

It's on the Chrger now as of 10pm and will stay there til tomorrow morning...

OK, my battery is a quirky to charge. This charge has been going 8hrs. I am not letting it sit still more than 10 minutes at a time. Looks like a great battery to me. Sorry for those that have had problems with theirs.

Hi Guys, we really appreciate the feedbckon the 016's. As a new device there may be some 'issues' and we've been forwarding these to the manufacturer as well as working to reproduce problems here.. The batteries seem to be okay but the charging process seem a little quirky..

We've increased our pre-ship inspection and testing of these, but our 2 minutes can't reproduce any failures that happen real time after a day or two of use.

DOA Atomizers are not acceptable and we have spares to replace these.. Please let us know if you are having atomizer issues..

Charging issues are still undetermined as the problems are very limited but seem to have a common symptom.

If you are having problems, a regular 510 usb charger does work great but unfortunately it takes a bit longer to charge.. If you do not have a regular 510 usb charger and you are having issues with charging your 016 please pm me and I will get you a charger to use until the issues are determined and resolved..

For the most part the devices and chargers have work great but I know that there are a few issues and as always we will work with you to resolve these..

I think it's great that owners are spelling out the troubles they have, the time line of ownership, use and issues arising, so that the problems can be more easily pinpointed so the manufacturer can correct them. I doubt anyone holds you personally liable for a product you didn't build.

Your reputation for ensuring customer satisfaction is well displayed here, and you earn the loyalty of your customers by doing so.

So my next report is ...so far... a good one, and that is that I charged the battery over night on the USB section of the charger alone while plugged into my laptop.

Success in the LED being green this morning. Just started using it, so we'll see how long the battery lasts on this charge.

From the other reports I read, it looks as though there may be a combination of charging and battery issues. It appears that some batteries either fail to fully charge or the capacity to charge gets very weak very fast.

Thank you again hoog, for all you are doing to try to identify the source of the problems. And thank you Hello 016 owners for your input to make hoog's job easier.

I received my battery and charger. The charger is what is faulty for me. The light stayed red after 9 hours of charging and the battery had no oomph. I put the battery on my eGo fast charger and 3 1/4 hours later...Bingo, I have a mega vaping beast. I tried charging one of my eGo batteries on the Hello 016 (Hurricane Hoog) charger and after 4 hours the light was still red. I had to put the eGo battery back on its own charger to get it to charge.

The battery tho...OMG...I LOVE this thing. 24 hours use and the size, fit, and feel are perfect. This will be my main device. I wish I hadn't replenished all those eGo batteries. Now I just need to order some cone/atomizers to try and when the extra batteries come in, I'm getting a few more.

I didnt get the charger with the battery but use my Ego charger and have had no issues at all charging. This is a great battery though. Seems to last forever.

I plan on just using my ego charger on mine too. It's good to hear that that charger works just fine with it too.

OK... wasn't wanting to "pile on" regarding the negative stuff, but knowledge IS power... right? And Mark was very quick to respond to my email/concerns yesterday... got a new battery and atty on the way. Great support guys, best I've ever encountered!!!!

Here goes my experience/time line... Good news and bad news for me. Good News: got mine Thursday 5/24 after work… Bad News: Not charged and an odd smell when I opened the box. I tested the voltage first... and zero. So I put it on the kit's wall-USB-charger. Green light came on at 2 hrs. Trying to be good, I left it on for the full 8hrs, per the instructions. Disconnected to do the 20 min “use” thing, per the instructions. Screwed the atty/cone on and IMMEDIATELY a cloud of vapor poured out of the atty… WITHOUT pushing the button! Put my voltmeter on it and sure enough 4.27V without pressing the switch. Pushed hard, soft, long, even tapped the case lightly with a No. 2 pencil but could not get it to go off. Can hear the switch was "clicking" but that's all. Checked it again this morning... still has 4.2V... straight through, no way to get it to stop. Noteworthy: the switch’s Blue LED light never came on, either while on the charger or off the charger.

When I metered the atty’s, the one connected to the battery for shipment read 10.4 Ohms - the spare atty was 2.5. I am guessing that the switch got triggered/jammed during shipment and burned the atty dry, as the coil end of the blank cart was somewhat melted and thus the odd odor when opening the box. Needless to say no vapin' yesterday... well maybe a puff or two, while trying to get the switch to turn off... great hits when I took them though! And definitely have not attempted any further charging ... was a bit hesitant about putting the battery, while "out of control", back on the charger.

Definitely mine will fondly be named "The Hurricane"... once this puppy gets charged up, there is no stopping it!

Anybody have anything like this happen to theirs??? Any suggestions as to how to “reset” the circuitry/switch on these things? Might there be a MOSFET in there that has gone haywire?

Seeing as this is my first MOD, I don't have another mod's charging unit to go to.

However, so far so good on the lap top USB charge from over night last night. Two hours and still going strong.

I wonder if hoog would be willing to send a few of his stand alone AC to USB wall adapters out as a test to see if that part of the 2 piece charging unit is to blame?

i got my replacement 016 in the mail today it came with out a charge so its on the charger right now. to avoid possible extra issue Ive been using direct USB from my laptop as i believe part of the problem to be from the ac charger cus Ive had one of them make a hissing sound while plugged in.

I got mine about 3 hours ago, and seriously, I'm trying to follow the instructions and let it charge out 8 hours but......

I don't think I'm gonna make it another 5 hours, then 20 minutes of puffing and then ANOTHER hour

Yeah, I might have to take one of them off the charger soon...

Oh, for the record:

Got both, packed nicely (Thanks Hoog!). All attys worked fine, one was skunky tasting, but maybe the batt discharged while shipping or something. But hey, a nice blow out and some fresh clean tasting juice and it was fine. Both Batts worked perfectly. Did some switching around with attys too, tested a few 510s that I had and they worked great.

And my personal update on my 016 (I'll let you know about my brothers if he has any issues too):

This thing is sooo much bigger than my ego & riva, and I love the rubberized outside seeing as I'm currently scratching the paint of my others.

It hits great and I only made it 6 hours on the initial charge and I haven't put it back on

I think....I'm in love seeing how long it last will definitely let me know for sure.

a full charge an moderate usage you could get up to 25 hours use off it. long as the battery's on these work well and the chargers are OK. the 016 is a beast an this thing isn't going down with out putting up one hell of a fight.

Sorry to hear you're still having issues. Did you get the gunk cleaned out? You should also make sure it's clean (not juicy) before you 'try' to charge it up. Mine has been fine from day one despite being a 'not charged' when I got it. I'm sure MV will take care of you.
