I received my Mr Puffer late last week. I've been using it every day since with NHaler LR Attys(1.5-2Ω). I'm using protected 14500s from MadVapes. Almost the moment I finished writing a thread on NHalers supplier forum about how great this pair is my old friend Murphy came to pay a visit. I started noticing that my atty was only firing for a second or two then it would cut off. I switched batteries - no luck. I switched to an older atty that I knew worked well - no luck. Then I put on a brand new atty and it worked well again. I noticed that the attys I was having the issue with(one I've been using for days) were ~1.5Ω and the brand new atty was ~2Ω.
The only thing I can think of that may be occurring is that with an atty < xΩ my battery is cutting the current with the protection circuit. Now these same attys work fine with a 510 USB PT w/inline batter and the XSHaler(16340).
I'm not very familiar with how the mAh values, discharge rates, and protection circuits affect a batteries performance. Could the problem I'm having have something to do with how the 14500 has 900mAh and the 16340 has 880mAh? They seem like very similar batteries in that respect.
Maybe a small resistor would help? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as the angels have stopped singing and the clouds are coming back together on this Mr Puffer/LR combo.

Is there a 14500 battery out there that has more than 900mah?
Does anyone know of any? I know there are 18650 batteries with different mah ratings, but is there any 14500 batteries like this? Because I haven't been able to find any. It doesn't really matter how many batteries it will take to get me through the day. If there isn't any that's ok, but I myself have been asking the same question.
it actually becomes more complex than just mAh...
it's a combination of mAh and the C rating on the battery...
compared to the amp draw of the atty you're using and which voltage...
an interesting example is the fact that my 750mAh AW 14500 batteries actually last longer than ultrafire 900mAh 14500 batteries..
and very very soon there will be high drain IMR LiMN 14500 batteries on the market..

What's the difference?...QC as far as them being true to advertised specs and size mainly....and quality of protection...
it's been pretty well documented that the *fire brands are a crap shoot as far as quality goes and that if they actually do work and arent bad cells from the beginning that the actual mAh is all over the map
I got a MrPuffer MP1 and bought 4 batteries from an online vendor. Once I got them, (one was DOA) I noticed that they read 3.6V on the side, worried I contacted MrPuff, he said that the voltage would work fine.
IMOA, the batteries are too long. They caused the box to distort, and now I've noticed a stress fracture on the side of the box where the battery sits. I have since removed the battery spring all together. This seems to have helped.
So, if you ask me, buy either Battery 3 or Battery 4 for your MP1. Their dimensions are shorter.

BTW, thanks for the links to these batteries, I'll be putting in an order shortly.
TrustFires in general are better than UltraFires. And I always pefer buying the retail versions over the bulk UltraFires that are usually offered.
The red/black TF 14500 may not be a true 900mAh, but you can get 4 for the price on one AW. You made a good choice,
Does anyone think that the bizarre behavior I'm experiencing is caused by the silver UltraFire 14500 900mAh batteries I linked to earlier? Is there an 'end all be all' 14500 battery? At this point I don't really care what the battery cost as long as I can vape NHaler LR attys on a juice fed mod I'll be happy.
I was wondering how many recharges these batteries (14500 900mah 3.7v) can take before dying... thanks
An exact figure I couldn`t say. Many yes, mine are well over 3 or possibly 4 months old still going strong and getting switched out with another set every other day. I`m using Trustfire 14500.
I use them in sets to go in series on a 5 volt box mod.

That fourth set appear to be unprotected. I would stay away from those.
