I got a blu starter kit on Thanksgiving and loved them. I have been reading on the forums and I decided to upgrade to the JOYE 510. I ordered 3 sets as I am also getting the Prodigy 2 and went with the 510 adapter. I patiently waited for my order from China. My Blu was only holding a charge for minutes and I was eager for my delivery. OMG! My first drag I put one of my favorite juices on and it gagged me it was so nasty. It was the strongest chemical nastiness, I can't even describe. When I look inot the atty there is thready materials sticking out the sides and they are burnt and nasty. I have tried to pull as much as I can out but it is impossible to remove it all without ruining the atty..I ruined one already. Am I correct in thinking this is what is cauging the bad taste? I did a dry burn ont he atty to see what happens to the threads that I can't get and they do burn..will they burn up if I continue to do this? Does anyone else have material lodged under the atty??

I actually stopped and picked up a pack of smokes today because I am not enjoying my vaping at all :( The taste is like burnt chemical and very unpleasant...if this would have come before the blu I would have tossed it int he trash and never tried e cigs again.

I have 100 ml of juice coming (I've been LOVING the juices with my blu) :( and my Prodigy and I am seriously ill even thinking of trying the new juice as I can't take the taste my Joye is putting out. Any suggestions?

I'd blow them out from the beginning to remove any 'priming fluid' that's in them. Then soak them in Everclear for a half hour or so to clean any residual off of them. Let them air dry for a while, then direct drip 4 drops or so onto the mesh. From there, proceed as you normally would.

The taste is likely the priming fluid, not the fibers. I don't own a 510, but I've read a ton about the atty's, and it seems that they all have those fibers.

yuck! I just took out 2 new atomizers and blew them out and a lot of fluid dip come out. They are in mouthwash right now as I don't have any alcohol.

I charged up a Blu and I think my stomach is so turned by the JOYE that I can't even enjoy my BLU right now.

Why do they put nasty tasting crap on the atomizer??? dumb...I wonder how many people take a first pull of that nastiness and never try an e cig again?

I am beginning to wonder if funky atomisers are caused by the liquid they are primed with going off or perhaps the liquid you are vaping reacting with the priming liquid.

1 year 3 months vaping and as yet I still have not received any atomisers that taste as rank as others often describe.

Coke is good for getting rid of nasty liquid flavours just make sure you rinse well and blow out the excess moisture before testing it.

I'm still very new to this, but the all three of the new 510 atty's I have opened have the rank primer fluid on them.

With the most recent new one I opened, I immediately blew from the battery end into a paper towel. It's interesting that the fluid that came out appears to be clear, but all the juices that I have are a light brown in color. That may be because all of my juices are tobacco flavored, but I dunno.

Make sure you blow all the primer fluid off, re-prime the atty by dripping a drop or two directly on the coil and then "test vape" (don't inhale, just cigar puff) until it doesn't taste like turpentine anymore.

I wonder if the manufacturer thinks they are "hooking up" the customer by pre-priming the atty with "bonus" juice? Is that really how cigarettes taste in China? Bleccchhhhh!!!

I think that is it...I added cotton candy to mine and I LOVE that flavor. I had been saving the bottle for my pink Joye...it was this sweet and strong chemical combo that was nauseating.

Have you ever had a favorite food and then you get sick after..never again to be able to eat that food? I am worried I am going to experience this with the e cigs. I know my blu does not taste of chemical but no matter what flavor I try (I have used all my favs) I am still getting a sickly taste reaction. Up until this point I had only tasted yummy goodness. On the plus side, I had my first analog since Thanksgiving and that didn't taste good either....I'm sooo bummed

many thanks! the neighbor had vodka and that completely eliminated the primer taste! it was still tasting a bit off to me but took my time with a smaller tweezers and got the threads and pulled a bunch of gunked up stuff from it and that resolved that! i really would like to know why that is there in the first place? 6 atomizers and all 6 do have it - is it supposed to be there for some reason? do the other joye users think it puts off the taste and pull it out?

Before I use a new atty, I blow it out, put a couple drops of e-liquid on there and vape several times without inhaling it. After that I put a few more drops on and vape as usual, but I find it still has a slightly metallic taste for about a day until it's broken in. I just keep putting drops directly on the atty and keep my cart extra full to help.

My most recent new atty was pretty stubborn, though. The icky metallic taste kept up for almost 3 days. But it did finally go away and now all is well.

Soaking in PGA or vodka or rubbing alc is relatively common here, but there is thought that any alcohol will start to dissolve the glue that is binding the atty components, so use at your own risk. A new 510 atty can be readied for vaping by putting an empty cart on it, pressing the batt button, and just puffing the primer out, no inhalation. Blowing it out often doesn't get it all out. A very hot water wash under the faucet followed by blowing out and quick alcohol rinse and then drying overnight (or longer without the alc rinse) will give you a ready atty. I generally puff the primer out until there is no visible vapor (-20 puffs or so), drip a few drops of my juice onto the bridge, put on a filled cart, and vape away. The primer is, I think, just PG to protect the metallics in storage, and is a necessary evil, but easy to get rid of.

Good luck!
