I think this depends upon the individual trying to quit smoking. Both methods have success stories, and I see no reason to say one way is better than another. Whatever you think will work best for you.

When I began vaping, I vaped as much as I wanted. If I got a craving for a cigarette, I vaped more frequently/harder. If that didn't work, I allowed myself HALF of a cigarette.

I continued this method for an entire week. As the week wore on, I found that the cigs didn't satisfy and actually started to taste bad. I began to prefer just vaping. At the end of the week my last pack of cigs was finished, and so was I. I haven't touched nor wanted a cigarette since. 15 months and counting.

I'm a firm believer in a saying here on ECF. "It's not the number of cigarettes that you smoke that count, it's the ones that you don't."
Right on... Guess that did come off pretty harsh, but it's just one of my hot button topics lol. I just meant to say quitting will present it's own inherent challenges and whatever works for "you" is right. No need to add stress to something that will probably be a bit stressful anyway...

I had to thoroughly think about how I was going to respond to your OP before actually responding as it did in fact come across a bit harsh. Having read your second post and clarifying your intentions I am at a better understanding of you point, and actually agree with you 100%.

I will point out, I proof-read what I wrote to ensure I never used words like "It WILL" or "It's going to" or imply you must transition the way I did or it's not going to work. My post was merely pointing out some issues in which someone NEW to vaping may or may not experience, and if they DO in fact experience some of the things I've mentioned some comfort knowing others have experienced said things as well. To point out, smoking analog cigarettes is medically proven "can" cause extreme throat irritation, dryness of the mouth, etc. which is a major form factor to whats known as the "smokers cough". If you Google "Vaping cause throat irritation" you will find that many other fellow vapors have also experienced such symptoms and it's more common that you would believe.

Again I just mentioned my own experience and pointed such out. Also having mentioned my sister experienced the same symptoms. However 3 of my friends that I have introduced to vaping have not experienced those symptoms. As "Baditude" mentioned and yourself, it's completely different with each individual and ones self weening off analogs will obviously vary. Hopefully what I've written helps someone out. That is all :)

Good points though to point out. Thanks HOPS!

I would buy a smoketech Winder newest Vision Twist type battery, I have many of both & like Winder more! get some kanger Evod tanks & get a charger for the winder a 510 with or with out wall charger, then goto MT Baker Vapor for some flavors & would maybe try out no flavor just like 18mg of nic & 20%PG & 80%VG if your not sure, I my self passed on the ecig for years because I didn't like the flavor.

winder & evod - for the money - my brother has the ego-c twist & wants the winder or vision spinner. Winder is newest & slimest of all.

Might also check to see if they have the same kit in USA plug, that one's Euro / round pin. But wall warts are cheap and easy to find, OP may already have one for other devices, so not a deal breaker!

They do, and I fixed the link, thanks for pointing that out David.
