I'm currently kicking this out to as many smoking forums as I can find and also trying to get it posted in a Harley Davidson forum figuring there are a few smokers against that group and they don't like goobermints interference. I hope they let it go through and maybe even promote it, there are a lot of those people and they could get behind something like this. We'll see.

I've got other ideas on where to spread this out which I'm working on. It's fine to get E Cig users signing, but if we could get to those that haven't used them, might not know that much about them or concerned about family and friends that do smoke finding a healthier alternative, I want them reading and possibly signing the petition.

I'm posting it in my scrapbooking forum, too. And yes, that site has over 50,000 ACTIVE members, its over a 100,000 visitors. Its the most popular forum with women on the net, well the NSBR(Not Scrapbooking Related) forum part, anyway,

You guys could come over and help me, I promise no one will talk about scrapbooking! LOL! Really, its a very interesting group of people, they are a very diverse group. While you're there, check out the NSBR board.

Here's where I posted about ecigs and the petition:

Two Peas Message Boards - NSBR Board - "E-cigs, the BEST thing EVER for quitting smoking!!!"

And here's where I posted this story:

I've got to give you two bits of information. First the Harley site shot me down. I kind of understand since they really had no area that wasn't chrome and leather jacket threads. However, it hit me that a lot of these clubs use the motto "Live free or Die" and every day brings us less freedom. Maybe they'll change their motto to "Quit or Die" . Won't look great on the back of denim though.

The other was a comment I got on one of the smoker forums- "do the e-cig people assume that smokers are the same demographic as the healthnut hippies?
if i had an "healthier alternative", i would keep that information under wraps"

I responded to it, but could anyone tell me what he or she was trying to say?

Sorry to hear that rothenbj. I got a great resonse on my e-cig thread, even a few converts! And met some that were already using e-cigs.

But other thread that I posted this on got no response whatsoever. Sigh...I guess people can only see as far as themselves. If it doesn't directly benefit them RIGHT THIS SECOND, then they could care less....

Oh, and it sounds like they were saying that they DON"T want anything healthy, so if you tell them its healthier it will backfire on you.

Doesn't really make sense though, if they hadn't of said "healthnut" maybe, just said "hippies" that would have worked.

Don't motorcylers usually hate hippies, LOL?!( my hubby rides a harley, but he's not like that, he loves me of course, and I'm almost a hippie!)
