I've been researching e-cigs on and off for about the last 1-2months. I'm always one that researches thoroughly before making a significant purchase. Lately i've been so busy with work i haven't really had a chance to come to any conclusion with the minimal research i've been able to do. So i ask you, experienced vapers, please steer me in the right direction.

My motivation for vaping are health reasons, saving money, convenience, etc. I know quite a few people with e-cigs, most are eGO's or whatever. A few have Blu's, etc.

From my minimal research i'm fairly certain i want a 510. I'm currently smoking about a pack a day of Camel Menthol Silver's and it's one of the strongest throat hit cigarettes i've ever smoked so i'd like something with a good throat hit. I don't care about size as long as it's not huge or some crazy shape.

My budget is around $100 but i can definitely go higher if need be. Please let me know if i've left out any info.

I really appreciate the input!

Hi Elwood--it can all be overwhelming at first, that's for sure. I felt the same way as you did. My advice to you is to go into an actual vape shop/ecig store, and see what's available. Don't buy anything on this "recon" trip, just talk to the salesperson and look at all of the different types of models they may have. What's great about this is that you can try their flavors as well. I currently have an eGo twist with ismoka or Kanger Clearo's (tanks). They give great throat hit (for me, I was a "light" smoker) and you can order your juices with the amount of nico that you you feel you may need. Once you've done this, then come back to the forum and see what everyone has to say about the various types of devices that you saw. It will give you some great info on which to base a solid decision. Everyone here has been extremely helpful and generous with information. Best--Jere

Lafayette huh, gotta holla at y'all from N'awlins . Go with an ego variable voltage either a spinner or a twist and a kanger protank or evod to start off with and you're gonna need a charger for your batteries you're gonna need 2 batteries and a couple of tanks to start with it's best to have backups .

I'd go with that for a starter kit, not too big but not as small as a Blu, it is ego so will take both ego and 510 threaded delivery devices, you get two batteries with 1300mAh so they will last the day easily. They are not hard to refill and, are easy enough to carry around and, are inexpensive but will let you spend that money trying different delivery devices.

Broadly speaking the eGo's will perform better.
EGo batteries have two sets of threads - a large outer (ego threads) and a small inner (510 threads). Most of the cheaper heads are ego, and the more expensive kit tends to be 510.
I suggest a pair of Vision Spinner batteries. With these you can easily adjust the volts, so you can "crank up" the vape to your taste. They're similar to standard eGo's but longer and a little fatter. Great for out n about.
Marry these batteries to either Kanger Evods or Vivi Nova's, depending on whether you like bottom or top coil burners. Top coil give you a warmer vape. The aforementioned are well respected budget devices which can be easily rebuilt if you wish, or aren't expensive to buy new heads for if you don't.

BTW we have lots of kit and our daily vape is evods and a Spinner for me, a standard eGo for the OH.

Evods are small tanks, and are easily filled using the dropper top that most ejuice bottles have. You simply unscrew the base off, add juice avoiding juice going down the centre hole, and put the base back on. But yes you can have a few pre-filled and ready to swap over when you're ready. I usually have 3 with me at work, and swap between them throughout the day when I fancy a different flavor. No need to vape until dry etc either, top them up whenever you wish.

i think you will be happy with your choice, spinners look real nice. i have 2 twists, and if/when its time to replace one, i think ill get a spinner. the twists can be very hard to read. i held a spinner in my hand once, it is just slightly fatter than a twist, looked very nice.

EVODs are awesome, if you vape incessantly like me, a full EVOD tank will last maybe half a day. i have 4 of em in constant rotation, different flavors in each of course, its nice to have choices. you might think about getting a carrying case or something, i unfortunately use a small cardboard box, and carry around ALL my juices, all the time! yes im insane.

i also have a protank, i figured itd be nice to have a glass tank for some juices. the atomizers are interchangable between protank & EVOD.

    good luck & enjoy

For a small case for your evods and a spare battery get a darts case. They're quite flat so sit better in your pocket than the hard shell ego cases.

I am new as well to vaping. You will want to make sure you get a higher pg ratio than vg in your juice. At least that is my experience so far. I usually get 70/30 pg/vg. I tried a 50/50 blend and it really is clogging my vivi nova. So do a little reading on the differences would be my advice. I have a ego vv but am wanting already to upgrade. So read read read as much as possible. Good luck
