The dura-c is 110 millimeters when screwed together- just measured it. It's a bit longer than a standard 100 analog cig.

I wanted an LED on my e-cig too; now I wouldn't have one, after I was a couple of weeks in. (Unless the model I wanted like the janty stick had one along with the manual switch).

Manual switch... manual switch... they rock-- the auto depends either on sound or vacuum, so you get much, much less control- and after a day or so you will want that control.

All in all, the dura-c sounds like a great choice for you. It handles just enough like an analog to satisfy the "habit" part, and is just different enough (pressing the switch, which is easy to do with a natural hold) that you can start to segue away from the analogs. The dura-c rocks; the batt life is only 2-3 hours of vaping away on it, but there are "passthroughs" for a usb avalable as well as extra batts if you're a heavy vaper.

After buying an npro then a dura-c, then an 801, the dura-c beats em all in my opinion so far. I have big expectations for the janty stick, but it looks like even if you ordered one today, you wouldn't get it til the first week of june or so.

Good luck!

Forget about things looking like a cigarette. You may not be ready for e-smoking if that's an issue for you.

You do not really 'get a lot of satisfaction out of simply holding a cigarette between my fingers'.

You're a nicotine addict, and the drug makes you think this.

When you're ready to admit you're just an addict like the rest of us, then perhaps we can talk about the right e-cig for you. I'm thinking the TECC-510 Titan.

Must be nice to know it all, especially how someone *else* *feels*, huh?
Go check others comments - for some, it being 'realistic' is an issue. Otherwise, why wouldn't the patch be super successful? It delivers more nicotine than vaping. Opinions are one thing, but really, it's not 'same thing for all folks,' even if in time, some may agree with you. (I indeed find myself using the wired USB passthrough the most, but I also let it hang in my mouth, not vaping, etc)

    To answer the questions asked...
The M401 is realistic diameter, and has different length batteries, with the 403 battery being tiny (short life) but same length as a king smoke.

    I think the M403 is ~86MM, the M402 is 96mm, and the M401 is 108mm.
The Dura/510/Yeti/Titan/Dura-C is slightly longer than the M401. by perhaps 3 mm or so, roughly half an inch longer than a pack of 100 smokes.

The M401/2/3 is the same diameter as a cigarette, and the 510 is a bit wider (~1mm).

The popular disposable (2 piece, integrated cart/atomizer) is perhaps another 3/8" longer than the Dura/510 is, and the same diameter. This is the KR808D-1 model, AKA Vapor King and others. The other option in a similar is the 'e9' relablled as Red Dragon, Blu, and others. Carts are more expensive, can be refilled to a limited extent, and they're convenient, but most say the filled carts don't have much throat hit...(I'm in partial agreement there, just picked one up, but the VK/KRD, not a Blu or RD)

The more realistic sized ones suffer from smaller batteries and smaller cartridges, so need replacement/recharging/refilling more often.

Favorite right now out of Dura/510, the KRD 'disposable,' and the M401, is the 510. But, go with a manual battery if you go that route.

    Hope that helps?

    Hello I'm new also.
I bought a "Smoking Liberty" ecig at the mall which is OK.
THen, I found this web site and learned about several more ecigs that seem to be the "rage" because of great vapor production, good throat hit and like a real analog.

I have purchaced a Red Dragon brand and it was a dramatic improvement.
But, I have learned that the Red Dragon, Zeus, Vapor King and Nebulus are all superior. These type ecigs all have the atomizer in the cartridge so they also eleminate one potential "technical difficulity" while smoking.

Unfortunately, Zeus, Vapor King and Nebulus all seem to be on back order, but I should be getting a Zeus next week some time. I'll let you know how it goes.

I have been buying "normal looking" ecigs, i.e. white with a brown cart and it makes an orange light on the end like a fire. But...others have brought out the benefit of the black ecig which sometimes has a blue light on the end. They say it doesn't look as much like a real cigarette .....so you can be more "stealthy" when vaping in public. (You know how it is....some ... h#%@ is always going to try and put you down, run you off or deliver a lecture about smoking !! Ha Ha Ha

I read your posts and trust me, Im somewhat new but also somewhat experienced . . . When I first started all I wanted was an e-cig that looked like the real thing . . . what a mistake and a waste of money, I started with the Npro from Njoy and I had no idea what I had gotten myself into . . . The battery life is a joke, your constantly refilling carts or dripping onto the atomizer and switching out batteries and you quickly lose interest and go back to the analog cigs. Trust Me !! If I personally have learned anything as of yet it is this . . . in the e-cig world . . . the less it looks like a real smoke for the most part the better it is, that is of course with the exception of the Dura-C from Janty, its cheap and works like a charm !! Yeah its not white and yea it does not come with led batteries but if that is real important to you then order some led batteries, your going to want a few extra anyways. The manual batteries are almost a must IMHO, the main thing that made me keep going back to analog cigs was the inconsistent hits from the e-cigs with the auto batteries, now thats not ALWAYS the case but in my experiences . . . it was !! The Dura-C is amazing and its also prolly your best bet at giving a real attempt at quitting or at least cutting down on analogs.

When ya get a little more experienced with e-cigs then i would go for the screwdriver or the prodigy and the jantystick I have also heard is awesome but yea it does look like a friggen harmonica on crack. If you decide you have to go with a white e-cig with the orange led then you would do best to go with a DSE901.

    Hope that helps

I was determined that i wanted off analogs, but I am more comfortable with something close to a regular cigarettes size and "feel" when using. Due to this I eventually settled on a Intellicig Evo which is a M401. I did get the M402 batteries for it and a extra charger to take care of charging issues and i do admit battery life may be shorter than larger PV`s. That said everything is a trade off, smaller size = less capacity.
My personal preference will not be the same as someone else, so the best advise would be to watch some of the excellent video reviews available of the different ecigs and decide from there, that was what I did. One reviewer i can recommend is Scott, known as igetcha YouTube - igetcha69's Channel

    My .02$:

Any LTv9... kr808-D... two piece design. Battery and cart. The carts are disposable. You can easily refill them for more life. So you get an analog looking e-cig, easy to use, two parts and only one of which will ever need to be replaced. You get two bats... one charge while one is being used. Great throat hit.
    My best,

I love my M401s but I have been suggesting the 510 for new vapers lately for the option of a manual switch. Just today I realized after 6 weeks I do not care about the shape as much as the vape. Some of the contraptions I am concidering using to get my vape on now, I would never had concidered when trying to quit smoking. Which turned out a hell of a lot easier than I thought it was going to be thanks to vaping and the ECF.

Esdel, Just wanted to add that I totally agree with your need to hold the ecig between your fingers, etc. For me, the whole "ritual" of smoking is part of my addiction. My list of "I wants" was very similar to yours.

I'm a noob too and just got my first ecig a week ago. I got the SS Elite from Sharpsmoker which is an M402 and I can hold it just like a real cigarette, it's not too heavy, it looks like a real one, etc. It came with 2 batteries, and I must have gotten Super-Duper bionic batteries or something because one battery lasts me pretty much all day, but I always have my extra one charged and ready to go just in case. ;) Carts are refillable, it's easy to get started with, not confusing to figure out, and extra parts are cheap.

I have no doubt that eventually I'll buy something more *sophisticated* but for now I just wanted to replicate the actual smoking experience as closely as possible to help me quit the analogs.

I would give you this advice tho...If you're sure you're going to order an ecig, order a juice sample pack from somewhere now so you have it before your ecig arrives. We may not all agree on which is the best ecig, but I think most of us agree that having your own juice and refilling/topping off/dripping is the way to go and provides the best results.

I ordered my sample pack the day after I ordered my M402, but the sample pack was held up so the ecig got here first. Was hoping I would love the flavor of the carts that came with the ecig, but I don't.

    Good luck in your search!

Not sure if I should start a new thread for this, but here goes...

I went to the Janty USA site; they say the Dura-C will be available for shipping on 6/4, same as the Stick. But apparently several people on here have one already, so I'm kind of confused. Is this a brand new product, or did they maybe run out of their stock? I don't know if I want to wait that long to get it.

Do you have to hold the button down on the manual batteries the whole time you're taking a drag, or do you just press the button once?

The YETI 510 has manual batteries WITH LEDs. Would those batteries be usable with the Dura-C?

The Dura C has been out for a while. They could just be out of stock and expect to ship on 6/4. THe stick has been available for pre order and are just now shipping the first ones in the next day or 2. 6/4 represents a ship date if you order today.

Just think how disappointed you will be if something breaks 3 weeks in...........

More like ...... off, lol. The thing is, I bought a cheap e-cig ($29.99) at my local smoke shop just to see if I would like vaping and I LOVE it. Must be a super mini (88 cm long), only came with ONE battery, 5 carts that spit more liquid in my mouth than on the atomizer, but even so I can tell this will get me off analogs for good. BTW it's called ENVY (they have a website, just add "cig" to envy. I'm not allowed to post websites until I've written 15 posts). Now I'm on my last cart, the smoke shop only sells the kit, and I know I'm really going to miss vaping if I have to wait until mid June to get the Janty.

Order some liquid and you can keep using your e-cig. Either refill the carts or just drip some liquid directly on the atomizer. I have to tell you, if you love it using a cart you are going to flip over direct dripping. And then you are going to do back flips when you get a hold of a 510.

Judging from the size your e-cig is either a KR-808A (89mm) or a dse084 (84mm). E-Cigarette Models should help you figure it out.
