Clueless noob here. I'm Having great difficulty picking a starter kit. Reading through the forums I see that the ego seems to be heavily favored, but there are still so many options. What I'm looking for is long lasting battery and a strong hit, I would prefer something on the smaller side but would be willing to sacrifice if it means longer lasting battery. Is the EGO-T tank system a better option than the regular EGO for this? And what about the EGO XL and Super EGO? Also wondering about the difference in the batteries? 650 mah, 900, 1000? What does it all mean?? Which is the best? And does the choice of liquid/cartridges have an effect on the strength of hit? If so, what is a good supplier in the US where I can purchase a strter kit + liquid in one shot for a reasonable price?

I apologize for so many questions in one post but I've been looking for these answers in the forums and just seem to be getting more and more lost. Pleas help.

I would personally stay away from the Ego TANKS (not the Ego) Here is what I went to and have been very happy since http://http://www.cignot.com/product_p/kit-ego-all.htm

Pair that kit with some Boge LR 2 OHM cartomizers and some good juices in various nicotine strength to find your "sweet spot" and you will enjoy vaping and save much $ in the long run IMO. Some day you "may" want to test out some mods or whatever but this could be a very good start, your mileage may vary

This kit is widely recommended, especially today when a member found it for a good price. It has a 1100mah battery, and comes with your choice of cartomizers. Boge 2.0 LR cartos would be a good starter kit to start with. Also buy a Drip Tip. Sweet Vapes also sells eliquids which I have seen good review on. I would order the liquids with 80/20 PG/VG percentage which will work great in cartos. I didn't see sampler packs if eliquid, but you could order a variety of 6ml bottles to try an assortment of flavors. You can also choose your nic strength.

Welcome!

Okay, let's break it down.

Battery - the more mah, the longer the battery lasts. The higher capacity batteries are like an inch longer, too.

Ego-T - I used to dismiss this, but I kind of don't mind it now. Pretty easy to use, not the best vape you can get, but satisfying enough. I suggest you get an Ego-T kit plus cartomizers (I'll list a shopping list below). The Ego battery itself is great, it just needs cartomizers to really shine IMO.

Liquids - You're generally not going to get "good" e-liquid in a starter kit, so don't worry about that. Go ahead and put in a dedicated order to a juice vendor. (I really like pinkspotvapors.com myself.) Ideally, get 5ml sampler bottles of different flavors from two or three vendors. It'll be worth it, because you never know which ones will work for you. As far as nic strength, knowing what you used to smoke might help. I personally would get at least 12mg and 18mg, with 24mg being a possibility if you smoked Reds or something like that.

OK, here's my shopping list for you:
- Ego-T starter kit (someone here can find you a good vendor)
- a 5-pack of Boge 510 LR 2.0 ohm cartomizers (fill with liquid and go, great vapor, relatively cheap)
- juices from a couple vendors (don't buy anything bigger than 5ml at first of a single flavor).

Hope this helps.

mAh mean milliamp hour..they say 100mAh = about an hour of heavy vaping..so the higher the mAh the longer the battery will last..also the bigger the battery is. With the eGo generally the more mAh means the longer the tube. eGo's are probably the way to go but there are some 510 XL or Mega batteries that do ok. Best bet is to just order either a 510 or eGo kit and get started..if one of those kits is much over $50 it's probably overpriced. I buy all my stuff from MadVapes.

If you think you may like auto bateries (no button to depress, just inhale) you may look at Echos. They are a lot like Egos but auto bateries, and they come with refillable cartomizers (the part where you put in your liquid) which can be refilled at least 20 times, also hold 3ml liquid, and don't leek like Ego tanks. Echos also vape at a bit more voltage, which is nice but not all that noticable. Egos are great too, don't get me wrong.

As to the 650mah, 900mah 100mah, 1100mah 1300mah, it all about battery life, and size. I prefer 650mah as they last most of a day, and are not to heavy to leave in my mouth while vaping.

Good luck.:)

Thanks for all the help! If a 650 last most of the day I'm thinking I may go with something a little higher just to make sure it doesn't run out if I'm not near a charger, maybe 900 or something in between. I smoke about 1 and a half packs a day, full flavor, so high nicotine levels and "harsh" vapor is definitely something I'll be looking for. Great inks for liquids by the way! i think I'll stay away from the tank too. I would prefer auto batteries instead of manually pressing a button but i can't seem to find the echo anywhere. Any suggestions on where that can be found or if there are other quality autos like it?

EGO-T starter kit, if u want longer batt life I'd go with the Mega Ego-T also Ego-C just came out might wanna look into that, but both are tank system. They work perfectly fine if u dont take to hard of a drag, amazing vapor little flavor but u can fix that by getting a flavorful liquid. After that explore more with a 306 LR atty (the thing is its dripping), and 2.0ohm lr 510 boge both are great.

No one I know of or the majority I have read on here would agree with this at all. 100 mAh = 1 hour of light to moderate vaping. Your definition of "heavy" must be different that what most of us consider heavy.

Yeah you're probably right it's more like 150mAh for an hour of fairly heavy use. I usually get at least 6 hours out of my 900mAh eGo's..I found I get even more if I switch batteries as it seems they drain faster if you sit and just vape from one battery.

I switch flavors a lot and just keep a couple flavors on different batteries..when I do that I find I'm charging a lot less. I use 3 eGo's and a couple long 510 autos and I usually only have to charge 1 of the eGo's a day even when I go through 5ml liquid. The autos I charge everyday..I had 3 510's but one of the auto switches died after like 4 months use the other day. I would say with fairly heavy use with switching I get close to that 100mah an hour.

hi BrokenLungs & welcome to ECF:)..for all the mistakes i made using e-cig in the past..i now can guide others to a sensible and useful electronic cigarette.it would be the VV(variable voltage 650 mAh eGo)..Healthcabin Healthcabin Promotion Sale-- i bought from..this is so practical & easy to use & all the newbies & friends i introduce to is very happy with it..cannot go wrong with any cartomizers from 1.5 ohms to 3 ohms as the device has 3 settings 3.2V,3.7V and 4.2V..the DCC(dual coil cartomizer kit is the best,1.5 LR DCC,kit)..U need to add a plug and various accessories ie drip tips and lots of e-liquids and U are good to vape..happy vaping..regards mafig ps my stock i bought from healthcabin,so never will ever fear i will not have enough

I would pick up the Riva kit that Dearme posted the link for. In the drop down, pick 1.7 single coil cartos or 2.0 single coil cartos.

I agree with this choice too, great kit, and great price. I wish I had done more research before buying my first time, and I would have purchased a kit similar to this. As far as your issue with pressing the button to drag, it's a small thing that you will get used to quickly. As someone else stated most of the auto batteries aren't sealed and are damaged easily. Another solid point for the Riva is versatility, most of the aftermarket parts and pieces will fit with this, you won't have to dig around (or pay an arm and a leg) for replacement parts, or new cartos, attys, etc.

Ego kit is a good choice, but I'm recommending a Kgo kit from hoosierecigsupply rather than a joyetech ego kit. Kgo batteries are 1100mAh, running a bit higher voltage (4.2 volt) than the ego (3.3 volt). In short, Kgo produce thicker, warmer vapor than Ego. Kgo are the strongest hitter in the ego-class pvs, IMHO.Kgo come with 2 LR atties which you can use for testing new flavors. Buy some Boge LR cartos with the kit and you have a great setup. But this is just my preference, everyone to their own taste. Welcome to ECF.

KGO is the way to go in MHO!
