There are NO 18650 batteries that are safe over 30 amps. Efest batteries are rewraps of other batteries and are rated way over their safe capacity. @Mooch has done extensive testing of batteries for vaping and has test posted on this site. @Baditude has some good info in his blogs as well. Look up their findings or pm them for help if you need to. If you are running lower power, you have several options, but if you want to crank it up, Sony VTC4's are you best bet. Don't fall for the Efest trap. Some are ok batteries, but you need to research which ones, and hope they don't change.
So if i stick with 30A the mAh shouldn't matter much? i'm not going to push the mod past 30W any time soon honestly. i'm just looking for the best battery life and wanted to give the mod enough power to do the job efficiently.

At 30 watts, you would be fine with most 20amp batteries. Usually, the higher the amperage, the lower the mah. More mah will last longer on a charge, but amps is how much max power that they will put out. You could run 20a at low power and get a higher mah battery that will last longer between charges.

Yes, i realized that after i read the info you referenced. i'm kind of throwing caughtion to the wind here but, since I've been able to find the tank and mod i want for a better price than i thought i would, i'm trying not to skimp on the batteries. Might as well go big if i'm going to do it and use up the rest of my $100 budget on 4 powerful and safe batteries.

That's the best way to do it. Batteries aren't the place to cheap out. They are the part of vaping that can be dangerous. Get the best you can from a reputable vendor. I like VTC4's from Sony, but I do have and use Samsung 25'R's at lower power. The different in life isn't much. And, well, I'm vaping at 120watts right now...

If you're going to be under 120W or so, and are using a dual battery mod like the iStick 100, then you can use the LG HG2 20A 3000mAh batteries. At 30W they will run a very long time.

So, @Odeezy2ez, are you still planning on getting the Kanger Subox Mini? I don't remember mentioning here that I just ordered one It should be in hand in about ten days.

I looked into efun the other day and they seem to not be too good. I have bought from myvaporstore a few times and they are good. http://www.illumn.com/ is a good spot for batteries
Only reason i'm looking at myvapestore for batteries is to hit the $75 to knock off the 5 dollars shipping. It's starting to seem not worth it now though.

as i was doing the math a realized that dual 30A should be 60A and give pleanty of power a head room if i use the subohm coils that come with the subtank plus.

that's awesome looks like i'm looking for a sony vtc4, vtc5 or Samsung 25r2, 25r5. What's the word on these orbtronics, LGs and MXJO?

Edit: o wait i was reading the chart wrong. This man has done some in depth work pointing out the false claims. Has this info been verified?
there should be a link on the page that lists all the tests, the equipment he uses, and how he does them.
