I have built Hammond 1590G boxes before that have all the same functionality as the stuff you are looking at. Its a good size and is easy to carry around. The fatdaddy 510 is easy to mount atomizers. You really should just pick the one that has the paintjob you like + logo you want printed on the Hammond box. I do like that the Titan was able to get the 510 countersunk and flush with the edge of the Hammond box like that. Didn't they used to have some kind of veined paint coats, similar to the REOs? Maybe I am thinking of the wrong Hammond box.

This forum is really supposed to be for mech mods, though. Like the Cherry Bomber, Dimitri, Castigador, Osmium, etc... are mech boxes.

There is no sub forum for unregulated, non-mechanical mods. So you're just going to have to put up with unregulated box mod static in the mech mod subforum until that changes. So sorry.

OK, well in that case, out of the wired Hammond boxes OP listed, I would get the Titan LE if I could find one. These have a very nice paintjob on the Hammond box... I don't remember where I saw a video review of it (it was awhile ago), but I think it was Suck My Mod.

I'm trying to decide on a parallel box but not sure which I should go with. My short list includes the Tuglyfe Box, Titan, Conspiracy and Truck Box. Anybody have an experience with these? Any thoughts on them?

Tuglyfe, big ugly horn button, very tall box, no voltmeter, they're cloned so the possibility exists that you get a clone being passed off as an authentic

Titan, big ugly horn button, pretty cool how they milled the 510 to compensate for hammond lean, but it's still a hammond box, no voltmeter

Truck, big ugly horn button, hammond lean, well and it's regulated so for me it's not the same class of device, this raptor chip also has a 6v limitation

Conspiracy, hammond lean, well and it's regulated so for me it's not the same class of device, this raptor chip also has a 6v limitation, priced too high compared to the many, many identically made boxes out there

I just went through this because I wanted an unregulated parallel box. In my search I thought some of the cleanest work and nicest finishing I'd seen was from XEvape, but the prices are slightly above average and I was not able to negotiate a price I could live with and I moved on.

Next was Smoke Stack Modz, whose work was above average and the price I could live with, but at the end of the day I decided I did not want a hammond box, and they didn't offer the cnc milled hammond replacement.

BC Box Mods are pretty spartan, but the price is good and they have a good rep. They've been doing limited editions all week long.

Then there's eBay, where you can find exactly what you're looking for. It will either be from an established mod maker offering one of their boxes at a better price than they sell for through the normal channel, or it will be a relatively unknown mod maker, and then you sift through all of those, weeding out the guys with ugly construction, and a handful of makers will catch your eye whose construction and features are top notch and the boxes are selling low because they aren't some big name, yet.

I ended up commissioning mine from RC Box Mods. I liked what I saw of his work, I sent him a msg telling him exactly what I wanted in a box mod, and he sent me back a price and it was one I could live with. So my mod will arrive dressed out exactly the way I want. That is my vote, no compromises.

Thanks for the answers. Vapenstein - there are also unregulated Truck and Conspiracy boxes. Out of the ones you listed, I have to say I really like the XEvape boxes.

I realize that the boxes I listed are all pretty similar except for the paint jobs/logos but I was posting in case one performs better than the others. I figured this forum was the place to post my question since they are unregulated but I do recognize that they aren't fully mechanical. I thought it would still be acceptable, so apologies.

The BC boxes that vapenstein mentioned have a toggle that can stack the batteries. So thats a bit different. But I bet all of the ones you are looking at work well, with similar voltage losses due to that fact that they are pretty much the same boxes with soldered connections to the same components.

A full mech box with no wired components is going to have a lower voltage drop, though.

Anything with soldered connections is more likely for something to break or come loose, especially if you accidentally drop it.
Hammond boxes with wired components would be easier to replace a component if you did damage it though, because the components are all generic and readily available from parts retailers. A mech box is going to have parts very specifically designed just for that box.

unregulated with mosfet takes the load off the switch, that would be the argument for mosfet over a mech box
The counter argument is that a mech box does not have a wired switch. Either it works without current passing through the switch at all, or it works by pushing some beefy copper contacts outside of the switch housing that press against some other large piece of metal. Its not the same as something like that horn switch which is opening and closing very tiny wired contacts housed within the switch enclosure.

Mechanical tube mods don't use MOSFETs either, and they can pass significant current without damage to the switch.

Sorry if this is sort of an old thread but I am looking for an unregulated box and am seriously considering the BC Box Mods Triple 18650 but i have a question. Since it takes 3 batteries I would obviously need to have 3 new batteries and keep those together for use with the mod but I only have the intellicharger i2 which only takes 2 batteries. would that matter at all that i could only charge 2 at a time? or would i need to upgrade to the i4 so that the batteries will all charge and operate the mod safely? sorry if this is a stupid question, I just like my face the way it is. =]

Upgrade to the 4-Bay.... It Does Matter

To Add....
You will want 4 New Quality (Sammy 25R's, Sony VTC4's, LG HG2's, etc.) Batteries.
Switch their Positions every Charge (# them with a Sharpie etc.) to vary the Draw/Demand Position thus equaling out the degradation of each.
