Can someone walk me through how to maximize my folding capabilities? I'm getting frustrated here, lol.
When I look at the "Work Queue", what exactly does the 'Credit' value mean? I noticed that the last one I had showed a credit value of 500+, however, just as it was completing (turned over to 100%), the credit value dropped to 100something. Also, the one before that, that took days to complete was showing a credit value of over 7000, however, when I look at my updated score, it's still under 5000....this has me very confused. Can someone explain it to me???

Cactus, there should be some walk thrus in the stickie section here. I know that the points are just an estimate until your WU is finished, and even tho you beat the deadline, the longer it takes to complete, the less points you will get.

I've noticed something on this wu I'm working on now. The first half was taking 30 minutes to complete a %. Now on the 2nd half it's taking almost and hour to complete a %. I know if you are doing other things on your PC that will slow it down but it's still taking almost an hour even when I let it run stand alone over night. Any thoughts on this?
Terry, I got one Saturday evening that started off at 1.5 days to completions. It then went to 8 days to completion. Then back to 1.8 days to completion. It finally completed early this morning.

I downloaded the program onto a second computer in my home (desktop) and used the same login id and keypass but I can't get the little box to display and think there may be some sort of conflict. However, I'm not technically inclined enough to understand any of the jargon or recognize what might be the problem when sifting through the stickies. Thanks anyway.

the work units are not uniform or exact
the best guess is if you can finish it in the shortest amount of estimated time for that unit you will get maximum points.
also the work isnt just compute XXX amount of numbers per hour sometimes pieces of the same unit may be more complex and cause the program to recalculate to time while on that section.
stuff like automatic windows update, programs running in the background etc will have an effect on progress time.

I'm in. 2 computers one got a 13.3 day project (eta 6.17 days) the other got a 25.6 day project (eta 18.89 days). Looks like it will be awhile before I get my first completed work unit.
Cactus, does the program show up in your installed programs? Maybe try uninstalling it and then re installing? What operating system does your desktop use?
they sound like they are both running in smp mode. longer time to finish but more total points. but we are glad you joined no matter

Terry, It says that if you select a category that doesn't mean that you will always get what you selected. It will depend on what wu are available when you need a new wu.
This last time, I have a monster worth 17K when done. It said I should be done in 1+ days when it was assigned to me late this morning. I still have over a day before it's done.

My monster is only worth 700+ points. Yours must be gargantuan.
Thanks Bovinia, I uninstalled it. Will try reinstalling it again later....my system is using Windows 7. It's running without any problems on my laptap (Windows 7) but on the second system (desktop), I wasn't able to see the status box at all.
