Hey guys, fairly new member but I've been folding for about 2 years. Just saw this sub forum after scrolling down a bit so I thought I would drop in and say hi. I would join your team but unfortunately I already belong to another. At least we are all on the same bigger team with the same goal though. 
I will however keep an eye on this forum just in case I can be of any assistance if someone needs help. I'm by no means an expert but I have used many of the clients in both Windows and Ubuntu.
I actually did browse just a couple of pages back and I saw a post about folding with GPU's in sli / xfire. I think you're better off disabling sli / xfire and running both cards separate. This would let you run 2 work units at the same time and I think for more points.

Wow, this is sad... I've got both my sad P4 rig and my wife's glorified netbook (dual core AMD APU) folding full time and I'm still only getting an estimated 372 PPD. I miss my gaming rig. Traded it away for 3 months of babysitting though so I suppose it was a decent deal...

now i am having some problems with the collection serve it IP is 0.0.0.0 and workserver is 171.67.108.44 project is 11292(0,21,11)
also same problem with another work unit. work server is the same... work unit is 11293(30,107,42)
my PPD is like 12706 but getting nowhere near that in the last 24 hrs.. i think it is an issue with FAH since i got my videocards folding but it has no collection server.

Well, I decided to let that one run it's course for the whole 2 wks. (it's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it... ha!!) and it is now at 99.62%... Whew!!

another work unit on the way it looks like a big one WU 7809 will take 20 hrs to complete but will set up my spare phenom be 965 soon to take my gaming pc place
I have the same issue with that work server and the no indicated collection server. Dunno, what gives? But, I've been on a holding pattern with that WU for over 12 hrs. I've stopped, started and even rebooted, with no luck dumping that WU. Prolly gonna need some guru help to clean this up. I'm just spinning my wheels with this one. Come on, somebody give me a push?!

If you haven't already - set the SMP slot to use 2 less of your maximum cores/threads. ATI cards aren't optimized for folding and the drivers/software utilize too much cpu to fold with all cores/threads running SMP.
Also, as someone else has mentioned disabling SLI/XF is more stable for the FAH client / nets more points / etc. (This is what I've read, anyways)

I just finished my 10th wu so now I will be getting bonus points so maybe I won't sink quite so fast.
Although, they just slammed me with another big one.

You can set the gui client for the cause of cancer. It won't guarantee cancer WU's, but it will increase the likelihood.
I did that on day 1.
Good news...my bonus points bumped me up on spot. Woo hoo. I didn't sink this time.
I've got a big one going now though so I'll sink for the next 5 days or more.
