my computer must be more dated than i thought. the folding makes it 'hickup' every few seconds unless i turn the cpu usage down to like 5% is that normal? am running 7.2.9 on a pentium d 945 @ 3.4ghz 4gb ram with a nvidia gforce gt 610 - using smp2 and gpu to fold...

does it usually take long to get the user title? i submitted the info via provided link couple of days ago. am glad this computer is doing something usefull again since it stays on all the time anyway :)

*hanging my head in shame* I totally missed it. For some reason my cmd+F did not find it.

I don't know how long it takes to get the tag though. Hopefully someone else will know.

As far as your machine folding slow, have you tried not doing folding on your GPU and just using your smp2 or CPU for folding? A lot of folks have said that GPU folding really slows them down.

I think Oldsoldier has his hands full with the system upgrade fixes. It might be awhile before you see your title but you'll get it.

Sarge somehow manages to find time to get stuff done. Sleeping 3 hrs a night helps too.. :)

Throttles, your throw away parts built computer puts out about the same ppd as my dinosaur laptop lol! I stopped using it about a month ago because it decided it didn't want to aquire new WUs for some reason.

I have a day left on the WU this machine is folding and then I'll try going back to SMP 4. I tossed my GPU slot back in to fold when I take breaks, simce the WUs on that slot are usually only an hour each. My GPU slot never tells me any points info...always says "unknown". I can't find points in my logs for it either, but it is turning WUs in just fine.

If you look at your stats on the extreme oc page you can deduct the points from your smp units that were turned in to get an approximation of what the gpu is doing. :)

The only reason it's actually running is because I have a few windows programs on it....so I figured I would just let it run and fold too...every bit helps. Although i think it is going to get a rebuild, nothing fancy

I'm going back to 7.2.9 -- the client itself is more responsive and it seems like I got more PPD with it. I don't know if it uses the same cores or not, but perception = reality in my book. lol

Edit: Yeah... 7.2.9 reporting 45k PPD and still rising. Have to do more research as to why.

loft I agree with the move back to 7.2.9. 7.3.6 client froze on me twice tonight. Initially i thought it might have something to do with my hardware upgrades. After the second time I decided to roll back to 7.2.9 myself. Aside from the project information still not displaying in the window; I have no problems with it.

But on a better note my upgrades are showing above 50K PPD :)

Yeah, mine froze last night @ 2am est... didn't find out until I woke up at 7:30am and lost the WU to boot. I can't wait until my new hardware gets here. I'm literally itching to build this system. Plus... Dusty needs some competition! LOL
