Also, I noticed some people mentioning their cpu(s) running at 100%, this isn't your typical 100% where its like your computer has "hung up".

It is more like the light is on or off when it comes to the folding. I am sure you might have even noticed it says 100% but you are not noticing any lag. It is designed to use idle cycles, so it will only use what is available.

As others have mentioned it is the gpu folding that will hurt your performance :)

vape on and fold strong!

That should be a quote right there! It's wonderful to see so many eager vapers here!

Yep, I had to disable the gpu. I also can't leave my rig running 24/7, so I just pause before shutting down and when I restart, it picks up where it left off. These are the reasons I asked to make sure I wasn't hurting the team :)

What is gpu and how do you disable it off and what does it effect if you disable it?

Well I tried and now I'm giving up. I uninstalled about a hour ago. I had it running all last night and about 8 hours during the last 2 days and its not showing anything under my name. No units nothing.
Bedazzle

A few questions and if I can help I am happy to .

when it was running did it say roughly how long it would take, on one of my computers it had said 20 hours, and that was if it was running/on the whole time.

Another I wasn't to complete for a few days.

I assume you set up your name and team # when it installed? If not you can do it after it is installed.

Depending on your system, it will install/slot your gpu ( graphics processor/card ) to also work on units instead of just your cpu.

When you look at your folding main screen if it only shows 1 item being worked on then it is only using your cpu

What do you mean it will install your graphics card? My graphics card is already installed.

It shows only 1 project being worked on so I guess it's just using cpu.

What I meant was that it will install the part of the client that will use your gpu and the slot is the term they use for what is running.

Sorry I type faster than I think most of the time and usually with a lot of spelling erros ;)

Ok, thanks for that but how do I tell if it's disabled or not available?

Sadness.

They no longer support core duo Macs. This eliminates my retired laptop. Looks like I will only be folding on two machines.

Oh well. Better than on no machines!

I'm running smp on my iMac running V7.2.9. I know I can't get any smp wus on my mbp using V6xxxx and I can't get V7 to load correctly on my mbp. So maybe that's why I can't get v2 to work on my 2008 mbp.
