Welcome Freeindeed! Don't forget to get your passkey! Once you get 10 WUs done, you'll start getting bonus points :)

Thank you, I did. This is really a great idea, and I love that I can make a difference so easily! And the fact that this matters to members here is just another reason this place is so awesome!

So I have been stability testing the new rig at 5ghz. Temps hit around 70c so I think the sweet spot is going to be 4.8ghz.

um WOW. Seems I am a bit behind on my homework. Im not up to date on current hardware - my 'good' system is still runing a pentium D 945 @ 3.4ghz :) I would upgrade it to a 965 chip which would max out my motherboard but cant find one cheap even though its an obsolete chip...
and the backup is a Duo E6600 @ 2.4ghz... Nice work man :D

Can anybody explain how this is achieved?!

Date Time Points WUs
03.01, 9pm 312,777 2
02.28, 9pm 324,193 2

I so wish loserslistedbelow would make himself/herself known so that we could all maximize our output. That's over 150,000 points per WU. Imagine the potential!!

Big Adv + QRBP. If I remember correctly the two combined gives 70% of an increase.

Edit: The system I am building is capable of pulling the same kind of numbers once it is completed (4 cpu/32 cores, 32gb ram, overclocked to ~2.5+ghz per core) folding on Ubuntu 10.04LTS with the Kraken wrapper.

Edit 2: Big Adv work units give more points but also have a much smaller window for them being completed on time.

Whats QRBP? I also tried the 'small' setting to try and get ones that would complete faster on these slower computers but the last 3 wu are 3+ days anyway. And with the computers being slower dual core I didnt think i should be using the big adv. Loft you seem to be an expert on this can you recommend which settings I should be running to optimize my work here?

Quick Return Bonus Points.

Setting the work unit size with the smp client or v7 client configured as smp or smp+gpu will not have an effect as smp defaults to big work units. You can try setting the slot to run as uniprocessor and then configuring it for small work units and it may give the older and smaller work units for you.

Also - big adv is only available for systems with at least 16 threads (or physical cores) so the dual core cpu's arent capable of running them at all.

Well, that's just great then. All my systems are either 4 or 8 cores. :p

You would have to run multiple instances to split up your work units, I tried it once and the second kept stopping and wasting time so I finished all the WU's currently assigned and had to uninstall and reinstall to get everything going again.

You would have to manually configure each slot and assign the cores to different threads (assuming) so they don't fight each other for resources.
